Much better machine than other reviews have stated. While loud and heavy, it was also cheap. So go into the purchase k owing what you are buying.

I think my title sums it very well. This machine probably slides to the entry level side of gaming laptops, but it performs well, comes well spec’d for the price, has a little bit of room for some adds down the road, and I think it is a great value. I love the look. Black. Matte. Plain. Clean. Some may say it is boring, but this is perfect for me. The backlit keyboard is also rather subtle, using a nice blue color. I don’t typically like this type of thing, or RGB for that matter, but this can only be adjusted for brightness or turned off. No other colors can be used, just something to note. The keyboard itself is responsive and nice to use. As is the touchpad. As for the build, it is solid and feels good in the hand. It has some weight to it, which was expected given what it is, but it is a bit slim as well, so while it isn’t exactly a toss it in your bag and go type of thing, it is quite portable (although I don’t love the power brick). The panel looks good and performs well. Viewing angles are great (thanks IPS panel), and while some may disagree, I love the matte finish. I can’t stand glare. Picture is bright, vivid, and clear. Just a clean image. The speakers, swell, sound good. They lack low end, which seemingly nearly every laptop struggles with, save Apple, but I think they will work for most. Port selection is good, about what you would expect, and most people will be covered here, although there is no SD card reader. While I mentioned not loving the power brick above, I suppose for plugged in gaming operation it is somewhat needed, and they do offer solid USB-C charging up to 100W for when you are more on the go and not gaming. So, at least that is nice to have. Spec-wise, given where this sits in the market, I think they have done a solid job. It is nice to see an i7 as well as the 4050. Not the fastest pieces, but will work for many people, and certainly not the costliest pieces. While I would have loved to see more than 16GB of RAM (note, it is 16GB not 32GB) and especially more than the 512GB SSD, it is not out of line here and both can be upgraded down the road. Honestly, you can probably get more bang for your buck taking that path if you want to anyway…even as I think they have done that well here. It is always a bit of push and pull with this but taken as a whole I like the hardware choices and I think they work well together. I’ve been happy with the performance. I have tweaked some settings here and there with some more demanding titles, as expected, but gaming has been great so far. Frame rates are good, well in line with what I was hoping to see, and everything has more or less been smooth and without issue. The fans have kicked on from time to time, but either not that much or they just are not that loud to me, but also note I have just about exclusively been gaming while plugged in at home. Regardless, I think most will be happy with how it handles games. Additionally, while I suppose most will use it that way, it also does quite well as a “normal” laptop for everyday use. The large screen is great to use, it can handle my “tab problem,” and as I mentioned earlier, I think it looks great, if that matters to you while you are on the go. Ultimately, I like this machine. Know your use case, and what you are getting here, but this laptop performs well, handled what I threw at it, looks great (to me), and leaves a little room for you to improve it if you feel the need, something you can’t always find these days. I think for all those things, the value is there.

This laptop will be classed as entry-level, but the processor, graphics card, general build quality, and display quality mean you're getting a lot more for this "beginner's" model than you would with a laptop priced at least twice as much. The first thing that may give a buyer pause is the RTX 4050, which isn't as adept at handling the high end graphics as other graphics cards and is kind of a "budget" card. This works beautifully with the 1080p laptop display, though! The pair - the display and the card - work extremely well together, and you'll have no trouble with games (even more demanding ones) provided the settings are capped at 1080p. And the display is of such good quality, you won't care that you're not playing at a higher resolution. The laptop and graphics card are equipped with enough RAM to handle a heavy gaming load, so you won't have to worry about upgrading your system shortly after it's out of the box. The build quality is pretty solid overall, with no audible squeaks or flexes near the hinges or the edges of the laptop frame. Despite being a large machine, it's not uncomfortable to hold or work with for extended periods of time (though it does get a bit warm from time to time). My only real gripe has to do with the size of the keyboard. It feels a bit squished, especially when you take the gigantic track pad into account. They keyboard isn't uncomfortable to use, and the keys have excellent responsiveness and travel. They just feel a little... crammed, but this could just be me. Lastly, I didn't expect a gaming laptop to ship with an i7 for a price this low, and it's a powerhouse. This machine will handle anything you throw at it and it's CPU performance really impressed me. Highly recommended to people looking to get in to gaming, or to anyone who simply enjoys a great value.

I've spent a week with the A16, and used it for a variety of tasks, from schoolwork to streaming, and some light to moderate gaming. I am not a huge gamer, and many of the games I play might not excite the avid gamers, but they can bog down a lesser unit and make it run hot. In the case of the A16, the processor is quick and handles schoolwork, everyday tasks, and light gaming super smoothly. Typing feels great with super responsive keys, and a nice layout which makes it so it’s easy to knock out assignments or type for long stretches without getting annoyed. In fact, I love how nice the keyboard is for typing. Often, gaming laptops don't focus on ergonomics, but the A16 is extremely comfortable to spend a long time on, with solid, tactile keys, and a cool surface. Graphics are solid too but nothing overly crazy. It handled my war games and simulators and Hearts of Iron 4 without too much trouble. The fan’s not loud either, which is super convenient and not distracting when gaming or working on various assignments. I was able to play Sea of Thieves with friends online without too many issues, except for one: the Wi-Fi. During downloads, gaming, streaming, or working online; I noticed connection speeds would suddenly drop off. Thinking it must be my network, I tried several different checks on my router and mesh system but couldn't find anything wrong. It got a little frustrating when I was in the middle of something online or trying to install updates, games, software etc. Other than that, its a well-rounded laptop, and gets the job done for both productivity and light gaming. If you don’t need top tier specs but want something that feels good to use and holds up through everyday use, it is definitely worth looking into.

This has been terrible. I still don’t have my item. Ontrac has been terrible to work with. Their customer service sucks. I went into Bestbuy to get help and they tell me to go talk to the carrier. I talk to the carrier and they are rude. I am not happy. I still don’t have my Christmas item and it’s taking a lot of time tracking this down. I am really close to blasting this all over my social medias….

As a casual gamer, this pc is great. For me, it checks all of the boxes one would look for who enjoys gaming at a not too serious level. It's look amazing. A little heavier than I thought it would be, but is extremely portable and durable. The 16 size makes it a perfect screen and the graphics are great as well. As I mentioned it checks all of the boxes one would look for in a gaming laptop. It's stacked with all of the ports needed from usb c to hdmi to usb a. Battery life is satisfactory along with the cooling fans to keep things cool in the heat of whatever game you're playing. The audio is mediocre but it's not a big deal for me because I just connect to a bluetooth speaker to get better sound if needed. With 64gb of ram, I haven't had issues with lagging during gameplay but I really haven't tested the limits. I like that there's room to upgrade if I did run into problems with RAM or storage. This is a beautiful laptop with multiple uses. THere's no way one can go wrong should they select to buy this pc.

Very nice laptop! This thing is NICE! Standard packing and unbox. Get the laptop and charger. Charger is USB end. Build is nice and seems rugged. Screen sits nicely over the top with no exposed hindges. Nor does the screen hindge around the back. Screen is 16" with high refresh rate. Great for gaming and smooth image. Paired with the 4050 Graphics card. It will handle whatever game you throw at it. Power is good. Able to do all tasks. Never really had any lagging while using. Mated with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. All are expandable to 64GB RAM and 4TB storage. Fit and finish are really nice. All smooth lines to the body. Full kbd that is illuminated Lots of real estate space on the machine. I really wish they would have added a few media buttons for volume. Large track pad is usefull. Ventilation is very good - Vents places bottom, rear, and side. Works very well to displace heat and fan noise is at a minimum. Overall, nice laptop with gaming performance at a reasonable price. Ability to increase specs is a HUGE bonus.

I have spent a couple weeks with the GIGABYTE GAMING A16 series, and so far, it brings a good combination of gaming performance with day to day productivity, no complaints. I has a good first impression straight out of the box. The laptop has a solid build and Black Steel finish which looks solid and understated. GIGABYTE's Golden Curve Keyboard provides a comfortable typing experience with a reassuring amount of key travel to allow for comfort for both writing and gaming with ease. Internally, the 32 Gb of DDR5 RAM and Intel Core i7-13620H processor keeps the PC running smoothly. I tested the system with many browser tabs open and a VM running. Even while running a lightweight game, I did not experience anything noticeable. Even when diving into more demanding games, the GeForce RTX 4050 card plays games well at high settings, in 1080p resolution. I was averaging around 60 - 70 FPS on the new AAA titles. The 165 Hz, 16:10 display provides a nice smooth experience while playing fast paced games while allowing for a bit more vertical screen space for pages and web pages with spreadsheets. Storage performance is solid since you will find a 512 GB Gen4 SSD. Windows 11 booted in less than 10 seconds, and applications loaded almost instantly. If you need more storage space, the chassis supports a 4 TB SSD too. One downside would be the fans can get loud when they are under load. The battery life was peaking around 4 - 5 hours off of mixed use so you will want to stay near an outlet for long periods of time, and the stereo speakers which are only internally and are enhanced with Dolby Atmos, sound decent, but could use more bass. Overall, the GAMING A16 is a great system and delivers on performance for the price point. Overall, I think that if you want gaming performance that will be reliable for other daily tasks as well, the GAMING A16 makes sense!
