Customers are saying

Customers praise the M34WQ monitor's large screen size and its integrated KVM switch, which significantly improves workflow. The high refresh rate is also frequently highlighted as a positive aspect, resulting in smooth gameplay and improved overall experience. While some users noted issues with HDR quality and the monitor's weight, the positive feedback on other features outweighs these concerns.

This monitor checks all the boxes. 144hz, built in KVM switch, gsync compatible, and great color. I was able to buy this monitor on sale and honestly at the price point its hard to beat. Buy it, you wont regret it.

Amazing monitor that has improved my productivity at work with the vast landscape while not moving to a multi monitor setup. The refresh rate is exactly what I wanted for moving quickly around different windows through out the day. I tried this out on war zone a handful of times and was happy with the ultra wide landscape in the game.

Loving this monitor. Great for work & gaming. Not all games support the Ultra Wide, but for those that do, it's amazing. Looks great. For work, it's pretty much like having two screens but i enjoy it more than 2 screens for play. Oh and that 144hz - smooth as butter. I used a wall mount because the stand is pretty massive.

Huge display and affordable in a class of its own because of that. The only cons are that it’s HDR is somewhat of a gimmick because of its brightness and the darker colors aren’t perfect.

Very pleased with my purchase. I upgraded from a 29in UW curved monitor to this 34in straight and couldn’t be happier with the display for both my PC and gaming console.

This is the first monitor I've ever purchased. I was between this and the curved Dell S3422DWG. I have no regrets going with this monitor over the VGA curved monitor. The IPS display is very clear and the KVM feature comes in handy switching between my mac and PC. The type C display port is perfect for simple connection to thunderbolt displays like my MacBook Pro. I haven't used it for gaming yet, but I haven't noticed too diminished black levels. The colors are very accurate and I enjoy using it for productivity tasks. The only concerning thing about this monitor is that I already have a dead/stuck pixel. It probably popped up after the first month of having it. It's not a deal breaker, but I believe there's nothing I can do until there are at least 3 dead pixels. Then I could claim the warranty.

Great widescreen panel. I came to it from a much smaller 1080p monitor and it is way more immersive. Because it is still a flat panel, text and graphics remain crisp and not distorted and I have more space than I know what to do with. I am running a gaming laptop with a GTX 1070 and it can handle some games (Like Total War Warhammer) at highest settings using all the screen real estate. Other games don't use the full widescreen so you end up with black bars. Some games can be modded to work with it (Fallout 4). Colors are fantastic and the 144Hz screen refresh rate over DisplayPort works great for shooters. I also like that it has a built-in KVM switch, which lets me connect another device (my Legion Go) and then use the mouse and keyboard without having to move over any inputs. I managed to get it to work; however, this seems to be a bit finicky and less easy to use than I would like. The only other con is that on occasion, and especially when updating the graphics card, the screen will cut out multiple times; it takes some patience, but then it performs superbly. There are lots of built in settings to tune the monitor - I highly recommend watching a YouTube video and copying how a professional reviewer has it set up. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase.

Best ultrawide monitor in this price bracket

After scouring multiple sites looking for monitors, I happened to come across this one (M34WQ) and it checked a lot of the boxes for things I was looking for including: IPS Panel High Refresh Rate (144Hz) G-Sync compatibility (Tested by Rtings and also self-verified) USB-C KVM Switch And at the current retail price it probably is the best ultrawide monitor in this price brackets. Sure, you can get some better features if you get some high-end Acer Predator or ROG Swift, but you'd also be spending an extra $400-$600 to get them. So with those good points stated, this monitor is not without its compromises/issues: 1. It only has a single USB out port, which means you can only KVM between two devices, one of which must be connected via USB-C. It also only has two USB in ports for devices, so you'll probably need to use a hub for more devices. 2. The USB-C port provides a dismal 18W of charge, which is not nearly enough to power any higher-end laptop, so expect to need to keep a power adapter around to keep connected to any laptop that needs it. You might be okay at 18W if using something like a new Macbook Air (with M1). 3. The control OSD of the monitor is cumbersome to use and can be a pain to make simple changes. As an example, if you want to change the volume, it's a minimum of around 4 presses to get to the right menu. 4. No USB-C/Thunderbolt cable included. I recommend getting a good high-quality Thunderbolt cable even though this isn't a TB monitor. Using a cheaper cable can cause issues. While I was waiting for my TB cable to arrive, I used a cheaper USB-C cable and ran into multiple issues including not being able to get the maximum refresh rate of the monitor and the monitor temporarily losing connection when I had a static shock incident with my laptop chassis (seriously, the screen would go black for a second or two). 5. This monitor is HDR 400 certified which can barely be called HDR. Don't get this monitor if you want HDR Also, depending on your preference, the lack of a curve could be a good thing or bad thing. I'm personally not a fan of aggressive curves as I sit away from my monitor, so I have no issue with the lack of a curve. Given that this is an IPS panel, I haven't noticed any issues with clarity looking at the edges of the display from the center.

Ive had it for over two years now. I havent had any issues at all. Left it on over night a few times before finally changing the settings to turn off after 15 minutes. No dead pixels, not stuttering, great for gaming and work. Good entry to the ultrawide monitors.

Great Monitor for Work and Gaming

I was in the market for a ultrawide with 3440x1440 resolution that can handle gaming smoothly with great response time and Freesync and at the same time be sharp and crisp enough for productivity, I work allot with excel, programing software and research which requires screen real state, and did not want a curved one. Spent a few weeks looking at reviews researching and finally chose this one. It has met all my needs and wants and a great price. There are better monitors out there but not at this price point.

I work from home often and wanted something that I could do spreadsheet work, coding and after work be able to game on. This checks all the boxes! It even has a built in KVM if you want to switch between 2 machines and it works well too! For the cost you cant beat it if youre in the market for an ultrawide and arent keen to having a curved monitor.

Bought this for my first gaming setup and it's been amazing. coming from a 1080p 60f monitor this has been a drastic upgrade. All the port selections, especially the USB-C is a great plus to have. The monitor is a little heavy with the stand, will be looking to switch to a monitor arm soon. Beyond the ports, it had everything i wanted; widescreen, 144hz refresh and IPS screen; what clinched the purchase for me was the 3 year warranty over other monitors.

A very good ultrawide monitor especially for the budget conscious. Not all games will work on the Ultrawide format so be prepared for some settings tweaking in game. My reason for getting this over one of the many other ultrawide monitors is that this one is flat and not curved. I do many things other than just gaming and the flat panel is better for those items including photo editing and image creation/tweaking. quality for the monitor is very good. I also like the built in KVM switch a really nice feature on a sub $400 monitor.

An Amazing Midrange Flat Widescreen Monitor

I don't think you can find this combination of features for less than $800. I have a buddy who spent over $1200 ea for similar monitors from LG back a few years ago. The combination of refresh rate, resolution, brightness, color accuracy, and more is just unbeatable. Curved monitors drive me nuts. I do design work and I can't have all my designs looking curved. I just wanted a big flat monitor. Paired this up with a 3 monitor desk mount and put my old 2-monitor setup above this widescreen making a veritable wall of screen. I can now tan and work at the same time! The built-in speakers are kind of forgettable, but I've been using them on occasion when I don't feel like throwing on headphones. Is the flat screen TOO wide? I don't know what is defined as too wide, TBH. This is the same as having two normal monitors next to each other. So the far edges may be a wee bit far away. I have not had trouble with it myself but I have above average eyesight. I have zero regrets getting a FLAT widescreen monitor and I'd do it again. Is 1440p to high or too low resolution? I have found it to be just right. My 3080 can drive this monitor at 144hz in most video games without struggling. I think if you do a lot with 4K footage you may notice, but it really hasn't bothered me much. Can you put this on a mount? It worked great for me. Someone said the VESA mount is slightly sunken in the monitor. This is true, but it is pretty minimal. There was no issue for me with an off-the-shelf desk mount from that online retailer named after a south American jungle. I don't think there is another monitor available right now you can get in this price range that ticks as many boxes as this one does. I highly recommend it.
