The Love/Hate Relationship with Nvidia Continues

Yea it's expensive. It's very expensive. Everywhere. But I'd be lying if I said it wasn't worth it going from sub 60fps 4k in Monster Hunter Wilds to easily 144+fps after upgrading. Powerful enough to run Cyberpunk 2077 with all settings maxed at native 4k (plus ray tracing on psycho) and still achieve 80-100 fps BEFORE frame gen, Add frame gen at even x1 (can go to x4) and you'll easily hit the refresh rate of most monitors with no tearing/ghosting/artifacts. The card runs cool, runs quiet, and is likely to maintain this price for a while, so if you can swing it, it's a worthwhile upgrade. ---- Before buying, do yourself a favor and measure the inside of your case for clearance. The card is MASSIVE. Ensure you have the power overhead required AND that your PSU can support the 12VHPWR cable or an adapter for one.

I’d give it 4.5 stars if it were an option. It is a very nice, well-built card that at least feels like it justifies a premium over MSRP. It also overclocks like a beast, putting it pretty much on par with 4090 performance. The cooling is more than adequate even when overclocked with low fan noise. Gaming temps are around 67C even when this thing is clocking at 3.3 GHz! That is really quite impressive, which makes it all the more baffling as to why NVidia handicapped this card so much out of the box. 4090-like performance for $1000 is a compelling story - a 4080 super super is not.

I recently upgraded from a Ryzen 7 7800x3d 5070 TI build to a Ryzen 7 9800x3d 5080 build. The increase in performance is definitely worth it and substantial for the price point for 4K gaming. This is my first 5080 card so I dont have another version to compare it to, however, this one works flawlessly. I play almost exclusively in 4K ultra settings for all my games. PC Specs: Case - Corsair 4000D CPU - Ryzen 7 9800x3D GPU - RTX Gigabyte 5080 Gaming OC PSU - Corsair RMX 1000 Memory - Crucial Gaming Pro 64 gig 6000 M/Ts Mobo - Asus Tuf x870 Plus Wifi 7 AIO - Corsair Titan 360mm Fans - 9 Windows 11 home 3D Mark benchmarks at 4K ultra: Steel Nomad - 5080 stock - 8910 (89.1 FPS) out the box Steel Nomad - 5080 OC - 9987 (99.87 FPS) with MSI afteburner OC Max temps - 66c Best MSI OC settings ive found with stability (no crash) +400 core mhz +2000 memory +125 power +0 voltage It stays stable while gaming around 3157 mhz I havent done anything extensive or power monitoring, but plug and play OC settings give great performace boosting. To compare with the 5070 TI my best Steel Nomad score with similar OC settings was sround 7550 (75.5 FPS) FOR 4K gaming. The fans can get super loud while ramping up but normalizes. That may be normal. Havent heard any coil whine. I do think the card should be more around the $1000-1200 USD price range verses the current $1400 price tag. Overall super happy with the card and build and will only upgrade from this setup if I can secure a 5080Super.

This thing out of the box feels like a bit of a rip off given the fact that it was launched for $200 less and then there’s a over $400 markup from MSRP. However, if you do get your hands on one of these like I did. And you’re lucky enough to be able to overclock these things go up to 125% power limit. My benchmarks have beaten or about equaled my 4090. As of yet there’s zero issues with instability or bad thermals. They are just amazing. If it was $200 cheaper as it originally was, this thing would be in my opinion the best thing for GPU right now.

    Great Card But Expensive

It is expensive no doubt however its one of the best AIB 5080 cards available in terms of overclocking potential with it getting near the 4090 in raw raster performance with a +%25 power overclock to go from 360W to 450W TDP. Gigabyte has also opted to use thermal gel/putty for thermal transmission instead of thermal pads or thermal paste like a lot of other brand AIB's which is a bonus for long term use. If you want a powerful 5080 card with great cooling that doesnt look gawdy, this is a good one to grab. Gigabyte also has a great 4 year warranty.

if you have the money this card is fantastic about 10-15% slower than a 4090 if you throw a decent overclock and undervolt it a bit its literally performing just under a 4090 within 5% from my testing keep in mind you need a cpu capable of keeping up with a 5080 to get said performance in the first place more important at 1080p, at higher resolutions you can get away with a 7000 series amd or a 12th gen intel i5 or i7 but lower resolution like 1080p yohr gonna need a 9000 series vcache cpu preferably a 9800x3d to let the 5080 pump out insane fps

This graphics card is amazing! The 5080 does wonders with Cyberpunk 2077, Forza Horizon, Halo Infinite, and Battlefield 2042 with path tracing with over 120 fps. This graphics card is overclocked and with the triple fans, it keeps it cool. Idle 30 - 32 degrees Celsius and under load while playing 45 - 50 degrees Celsius max. 10/10 would recommend, this card is definitely worth it if you are looking for a great next gen, future proofed graphics card.

Amazing GPU. Good colors and design. I had no ROPs problems, nor melting. Also, I managed to keep my older 850W PSU. Pros: - Fast and beautiful - Overclocked and cool temperatures Cons: - 40% MSRP Overpriced - Big and heavy - Costs almost as much as a 4090 (I should have bought a 4090 one year ago...)

Been wanting this gpu for a year now. Finally got my hands on it. It's massive in size so it did not fit in my h5 flow case. I am currently building a new pc from scratch. It is built really solid though and it comes with its own gpu stand to prevent sagging since its so big and delicious looking.

Works exactly as expected. I run a three monitor setup, two 1080p 240hz, and one 1440p 360hz(limited to 240hz for my setup). Everything runs smooth. I get high fps at 1440p on most games depending on settings. Also, this has allowed me to record gameplay at 1440p 60fps. Only downsides are, if you want to control the RGB lights on the card you need to use Gigabyte's software and the fans at full speed sound like a small prop airplane. It might be able to be fixed through the Gigabyte app, but I am not particularly worried about that.

This 5080 is AMAZING. Great thermals with the power limit maxed out with some manual overclocking. 1440p amd 4K gaming is smooth. MFG is great on single player games. There is some latency but its manageable. The 16GB of vram is a limiting factor with this card at 4K. 24GB would've been perfect.

I originally wanted an Aorus Master for obvious reasons. But I have to say the Gaming OC is exceptional in it's own right and keeps cool when overclocked to 3175MHz clock frequency and 17000MHz memory frequency. Also, undervolted to .985mv. Has just enough RGB to look classy and not over the top. 4 year warranty is a plus as well.

Not sure ifs just normal for 80/90 series cards but the gigabyte 5080 OC has noticeable coilwhine that I find mildly irritating. Nvidia adapter needs a ton of force to fully connect with the gpu which is also a bit concerning. Other then that card works great
