Preferred over basic hooks and they do the job. Just find that joist to connect to in the garage and you’re good to go. No damages to my wheels and keeps the bike out of my way.

The only thing I would want in this item is a positive lock when it closes. It doesn't appear that the bike will ever fall, but it could possibly come open as there is nothing keeping the arms together.

Gets bikes off ground. High ceilings R a challenge

Works fine. However, one thing to consider is, how high are the ceilings in your garage? Bikes get kind of squirrely when you lift them up to hang. And this is a case where it's not as easy as it looks. Just be sure you have a firm stance when you're hanging your bike.
