Didn't go to see this expecting high art. Mythology is getting dense, but fun way to mesh it together.

For anybody who knows the 1960s classic King Kong versus Godzilla knows beyond a shadow of the doubt the original Godzilla should have won. Yet he didn't because it's of course the Japanese version he can't have the bad guy win AKA you can't have Godzilla one. And this one Godzilla is not really the bad guy even though it looks like he is Kong is much older wiser still has the brute strength but he doesn't have any special powers like in the 60s classic. This fight is about bounce not supremacy like in the 60s classic. Godzilla could have killed Kong and possibly mechagodzilla could have killed Godzilla. They both needed each other and they both helped each other when it counted. The special effects very well done storyline I say could have been a little bit better but all in all very well done.

Warning: May contain spoilers. Loved Godzilla King of the Monsters and Kong Skull Island. Godzilla versus Kong is a continuation of both movies. As you may recall from Skull Island, Kong was still growing. Basically he's reached a size that is big enough to take down Godzilla. Pros: - Great fight scenes between Godzilla and Kong. - Kong and Godzilla both use their strengths to their advantage. - The rumored creature is true and is one of the greatest highlights of the film. - Hollowed earth theory and how to get there is highly imaginative. Cons: - Humans have too much screentime and at times seem pointless. - Little girl controls Kong.

Overall a fun movie to watch on a Friday night or on a lazy weekend afternoon. The movie gets 4-stars because of the story. There were no problems with the disc. The movie is Kong-centric and I didn't find the two separate sub-plots with the humans very compelling. I was hoping the two groups would meet up. I won't give away spoilers for those who haven't seen the movie. I would've preferred to see Godzilla get the glory at the end. But I understand why he didn't given how the story unfolds. Millie Bobby-Brown's character deserved a better story too! Her character gets paired with a friend (the kid from Deadpool 2) and a guy who does podcasts. Despite my problems with the plot, I do hope another Godzilla movie comes out in the next few years. The extras are fun to watch. Learning more about the franchise's history and the monsters is always great.

The new Godzilla movies are great, but I feel like this one was possibly the biggest homage to the original Godzilla movies to date! I saw the twists coming from a mile away and was loving every bit of it. But like the other new movies, it also added a lot of story quality and character connection that was always kind of hilariously missing in the classics. If you’ve watched a lot of classic Godzilla and are a big fan, you’ll likely enjoy this. But I’d recommend it to anybody who likes a good monster flick really.

I went into this movie with some hesitation if it would be better or worse than the previous Godzilla movie. To my surprise this movie turned out very entertaining and I enjoyed it a lot. I did laugh at the sight of the flying ships that looked all to similar to the Matrix ships. Other then that it was a great movie. I watched this a few months back digitally in 4k, the digital copy in the set is only 1080p, but still good. Great cast with intense battles. Good movie for the entire family.
