Goldfinger was originally presented theatrically with a monaural soundtrack that has been faithfully reproduced on Blu-ray courtesy of a lossy Dolby Digital option. While there are certainly those who will revel in the nostalgia of this original track, most will be more inclined to sample the extensively remixed 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track that has been included with this Blu-ray edition. Those responsible for this mix should be commended; the track serves as a wonderful surround update that manages to increase the relative fidelity of the audio elements, while giving the film a much-needed aural boost. Regardless, there are still source-related limitations present in Goldfinger. The film is now 45 years old and the recording technology of the day was relatively primitive in comparison to the advanced digital techniques used today. As such, one can easily detect hiss and compromised sections of the soundtrack that will probably never sound any better than they do here. What's left, is a remarkable sonic achievement that manages to maintain the feel of the original mono track, while adding much needed bass and surround elements to the presentation. Goldfinger doesn't sound like a modern-day action film, by any means, but it does sound remarkably fresh and lively. Highly recommended!

Bond goes up against a opponent who'll do anything to win. Auric Goldfinger is the best villan in the Bond universe. Oddjob was the best villian enforcer as well. Assign the task of discovering if Goldfinger is smuggling gold and how he does it turns into a plot to disrupt the U.S. economy. The scene with the laser is by far the best cliffhanger in the Bond universe (although it was different in the book). Movie was pretty close to the book with a few exceptions.

My favorite Bond ... James Bond

Unlike Mr. Bond's martinis, I was shaken AND stirred! The film has been beautifully restored. On the one hand it's quaint, but on the other hand it's never been bettered. This is my favorite Bond film, and Sean Connery always gets it right. The women are wonderful too, tough and brassy, and they use him just as much as he uses them. The villain and his henchman are delightful. The dialogue is uproarious. There's some fine ham acting from the supporting cast. No one seems the the least bit fazed by the far-fetchedness of the whole premise. The music makes a valuable contribution to the overall atmosphere of audacity. And don't miss the extras! Two commentary tracks, and a couple of short documentaries that place the film in the context of its time and ours.

You know the story already and this version does not add any deleted scenes or provide an alternate ending or the like. Rather it is an excellent transfer to blu ray. The images are very detailed and the color can't be beat for a 50 year old movie. The sound is an upgrade over that found on a standard DVD. My favorite parts of the early 007 films are the fabulous styles and beautiful paint jobs of the vehicles and this disc really highlights them. I have not yet viewed the extra features but they look interesting. If you are a fan of the early James Bond films and want to enjoy them in more current visual quality then this is the version for you.

This is the third movie in the Bond series and the team of Broccoli - Saltzman raised the bar on this film when compared to Dr. No. The villain Odd Job with his steel bladed derby hat is a formidable opponent for 007. The plot is very interesting and believable. It will definitely hold your interest for 110 minutes. If you haven't seen this movie (which would be hard to believe) I recommend it without any reservations.

My three favorite items from this classic Sean Connery as Bond movie: As Bond is being threatened by a laser beam, he queries Goldfinger "Do you expect me to talk." It is met with the response... "No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to DIE!" This is the movie that introduces the world to the Aston Martin DB5. Just don't touch any of the buttons. It has a number of scenes filmed right here in the Bluegrass.

We saw this in a small movie theatre in England, and people actually cheered when Oddjob was electrocuted. If ever a movie made a star from a book then it had to be Sean Connery as James Bond; he was Bond, it was that good a fit. The plot was good, the characters tight, and even the dialogue seemed word-perfect. Whatever bumps there were along this particular road were quickly overlooked by the viewing public.

Goldfinger is easily the "most Bond", Bond film. Everything Sean Connery does or says instantly becomes cool and swagger as soon as you watch it. I'm a huge fan of all Flemming's Bond novels and the movies that go with them, but id have to say this one is just a little more important to have in your movie collection; timeless and nostalgic all at the same time.

While already the third installment in the series (following Dr. No and From Russia With Love), Connery establishes himself as the best Bond ever with this film. It is great entertainment and contains all the elements of the Bond formula that would work again and again. Unfortunately, it happens to be the shortest of all the Bond films.

This is arguably Sean Connery's Best Bond film. He was still finding his "legs" as bond, and hadn't yet settled into what the franchise character would later become. Plus best bad guy in Odd Job. (Plus I remember all his "High Karate"(sp) adds.

Bond is like bread. Some people don't like all of it but a slice of bread is better than no bread at all. So I don't feel there are any bad Bond movies because I would rather a bad one than none at all. This is a great installment in the 23 Bond films and entertains.

This an old movie. Does it really need to be on Blu-Ray? Probably not, but for $7.99, why not? If you've never seen a classic bond film this is a good one to start with. All the one liners you probably didn't know you knew are here, and Sean Connery is a real treat.

This is he best Sean Connery James Bond film and the second he did. Excellent film with plenty of action and classic cars. Goldfinger is also one of the most recognizable Bond villains with his quotes. Great film!

Goldfinger is a classic, vintage James Bond movie. I watch it whenever it is on TV. Now I can enjoy it in crystal clear Blu-Ray. If you are a fan of 007, I highly recommend purchasing this video in this format.

Goldfingers always been a favorite of mine ever since I watched it with my dad a long time ago. The price isn't too bad either along with the free ticket to see Spectre made it an even easier choice to buy.
