The VR set is amazing and is a lot of fun. It works perfectly with my Samsung S8 and has a decent set of apps, specially made for daydream. I was amazed to see app through which you can see your local videos in VR , the immersive view, and 360 Videos are just out of the world. The only problem i am facing is- all the videos keep on moving left and i have to recenter them all the time. Thankyou Bestbuy for getting me such a perfect product at such a decent price.

Mobile VR done right; just needs more games

This 2017 Daydream View is the best mobile VR hardware. The headset looks like something you'd want to wear, and is extremely comfortable. You can also insert your phone with its case still attached (as long as it isn't super bulky), while the remote controller adds fun ways to interact. Compared to last year's model, the field of view is noticeably wider and the top strap holds the headset in place better. And, unlike the Gear VR, you don't need a Samsung phone to use this headset. Recent flagships from Google, LG, Motorola, Asus, Huawei, and ZTE – as well as Samsung – all now work with Daydream. Games are the only key advantage for the Gear VR. Daydream's library has improved in the last year, but it isn't as stacked as the Gear's, which Oculus has been gradually building since 2014. Before investing in mobile VR today, though, keep in mind that HTC and Lenovo have standalone VR headsets in the pipeline that a) run the Daydream platform, and b) have full 6-degree positional tracking. Oculus also has a standalone headset (without 6DOF tracking) coming next year, running the same platform as Gear VR. Both, however, will cost more than Daydream's $99.

    An affordable intro to VR

The Daydream View is a great way to get your feet wet in VR. It offers great quality and comfort while still being quite affordable. Not all phones are compatible so research first before buying. I use it with the ZTE Axon 7 phone and it works great. I have not tried other VR units to compare with this so my experience is limited. My main use for this is watching Netflix or digital copies of movies. There are good games available also and those are very immersive. I have not felt any motion sickness but after prolonged use I do experience a small amount of eye strain. The included controller is very easy to use and a must for controlling what you see and interacting with content. The controller has very convenient volume controls which is very helpful, as well. The headset is very comfortable. The top strap is removable but I found it is much more comfortable with it on. This 2017 model has a heat sink for your phone which I feel is a must. After prolonged use your phone will get quite hot. The only negative I have experienced is occasionally I notice the view will slowly drift off to one side. I don't know if this is unique to this product or inherent to all VR at this point. Conveniently the controller has a way to recenter the screen if this ever happens. I would definitely recommend this to anyone with a Daydream compatible phone.

    Great Value VR Experience

First of all, one thing to keep in mind - you need a Google Daydream compatible phone to use this. So before buying, make sure your phone is compatible. But I recently got a Moto Z2 Force and was excited to play with VR. Are you going to get the same experience as some of the VR systems that are 4 or 5 times this price? No, but for the value, it's a lot of fun to play with and has been a great first foray into VR. It's comfortable, and the pointer works well. There are a decent number of games and apps available, and even watching regular video feels much more immersive and bigger. However, if you get a chance, definitely check out some of the VR specific video apps - the NBA live broadcasts have been particular fun. Is it a draw-dropping, you're at the arena type of experience? No, it's not there yet, but it's impressive how far we've come. Right now it is more like an immersive experience with different angles and holograms. But it's still fun, and if you're curious about VR without wanting a huge investment and have a compatible phone, the Daydream headset is a great way to try it out.

The Technology Is Great, Not Enough Content Yet

So I bought this when it was half price on a daily sale... I wouldn't yet pay full price for it yet. The technology is quite amazing, sadly there isn't enough content yet out there. Google does offer some free 3D documentaries in its play store though the Daydream app when you get your Daydream View connected to the phone which are quite amazing. YouTube VR also is a must have application which has quite the selection of both 360 and VR video. Some amazing content out there from National Geographic and other production quality content, as well as the hobbyists and amateurs. As far as the Daydream View itself, its rather comfortable to wear for long periods once you get it properly adjusted. The controller is easy to use once you get used to it. I would not recommend paying full price at this point due to the limited content, but once the content catches up with the technology this will be amazing.

I am use to the Samsung Gear VR and PSVR and LG's take on a REALLY BAD VR so I came into this with not expecting a whole lot. Yea the list isn't super huge and not as exciting as others but it's growing that's for sure. I hate that there is no native web browser on it tho. There's one through a side app and it's terrible. The games are fun and enjoyable. It's also comfy to wear and it's pretty clear.

This VR goggle set is really nice. It is more comfortable than my previous Samsung Gear VR and keeps out more light as well. The controller is basic, but intuitive. It allows you to realign your view just by holding a button for 2 seconds or dragging your viewing area. It's also nice that I can use my Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and my wife's Iphone 7 Plus with the same device. For an inexpensive VR kit, this is very functional and fun.

This headset is amazing. It's light, it has a remote, and best of all, it's comfortable, with a nice little slot for the remote to be stored. This blows cardboard headsets out of the water (as it should, being more expensive). Caveat: check compatibility with your phone. Not all phones are compatible yet.

Less expensive and much more comfortable than GearVR, also compatible with a lot more phones, in 2019 VR interest has dropped a bit, but if you want the best smartphone powered, mobile VR experience Daydream gives you value, comfort and a large library of titles. You can also run all Cardboard titles on Daydream giving it the overall largest library.

    Fantastic Option For Cheap VR

This is a great daydream view headset, but quite pricy at full price. Get it on sale and you'll have a headset that can be worn comfortably for periods of time. The field of view is great, but the real highlight is the remote, it's nice to hold, easy to use, and the buttons are perfect for use without looking.

The quality of the headset and controller is fine. The controller is responsive and holds a charge for a decent amount of time. Your happiness of this product will depend on your phone, however. I have a Pixel 2 XL that has an orientation drift, along with overheating issues.

I was pleasantly surprised by the video quality. The only minor issue is it is a bit tricky to get the headset on just right so the focus is as good as can be. Has a tendancy to slip a bit, but overall am very happy with the quality and VR apps that I've used.

The Daydream works great however i notices that re centering the view with gen 1 daydream was more accurate. additionally i seem to get alot of errors and timeouts using this set. something i never experiences with the first set. it could be the Pixel vs Pixel 2 but i cant tell

It's very light weight and comfortable. Remote works great. I just feel the optics are a little lacking. The image is not as sharp or bright as other VR platforms I've tried. For the price it's hard to complain.

Nothing special. If you never had a VR set before than it's worth the buy to get your first look at VR. If you have a upscale VR headset (HTC Vive, Rift), don't waste your money. If you have a Samsung phone, get the Gear VR, it's a better version of portable VR headsets

Great mobile VR system with only one problem...

This was the third mobile VR system I've purchased. The first was a simple cardboard viewer that I got just to see how it works. The second was a slightly better cheap plastic unit which was built so badly that I returned it and purchased this. Having seen this range of options, I have to say that the higher end Daydream headset really is the only one that I'd recommend for someone who actually wants to make extensive use of mobile based VR. The optics, weight, and overall comfort are so much better than the cheaper options that it's hard to see how you'd make do with anything less, and the included controller is pretty much a must-have if you want to get anything close to what you can get with a Vive or Rift. And unlike many other higher end offerings, the design of the Daydream View is such that it can accommodate a wide arrange of different phones without needing any awkward adapters, frames, or calibration sheets. Unfortunately, there is a caveat. Namely, this excellent headset that's been built for versatility can only support about half a dozen different handsets at the moment. While you can use it as a cardboard viewer without much difficulty, all of the most impressive features of the View such as the automatic adjustment, controller support, and app library will only work if you have a daydream enabled phone. So if you do have one of those, this really should be the first and probably only one you look at. Otherwise, you'll need to look elsewhere for something based around the Cardboard ecosystem instead.

The only reason I can't give this thing 5 stars is because it does not fit me correctly. Yeah, I have a big head, but any product with an adjustable strap should be able to accommodate. The finish is great, it works as expected and I love it but it's just too tight even at its biggest setting. The apps work well and the Moto Z2 even fits inside the case with an extended battery pack although I don't think it's advised to use that way.
