For the price of $49 ,its worth. Its ability to view Google Photos taken with pan mode is really good one. Comfortable and light weight. Worth upgrading from conventional 3d lens. Cons including quick heating up devices incase coupled with Google pixel 1 generation phone.

This VR is very comfortable fit and easily adjusted. It was a gift to my fiance and we both enjoy playing and viewing 360 view videos. It's an awesome experience. We tried a skydiving video and feels so real that we felt like we were actually there. Definitely recommend.

i never thought that VR would be so immersive. Watching movies or diving into the 3d content has been so crazy! in a good way that is. You totally get lost in what you are watching. High five to google for absolute comfort and ease of use.

Hands down this VR headset blows all other mid level units I've owned out of the water. Paired with my V30+ it is truely like daydreaming. Very lifelike and highly recommended. The remote controll is on point and once again Google ceases to amaze me.

I've had a few headsets so far, and most of them are crap. I'm so glad I invested a little more money in a headset that is a much higher quality, has a remote that actually works and I love sitting in my lodge watching netflix vr.

The Daydream View is a nice addition to your Android phone quiver if it is Daydream compatible. Quality is top-notch with great design and fit befitting of Google. Perfect accessory if you are curious or want to explore VR without having to commit a much larger budget on higher-end devices. Be interesting to see how the Daydream ecosystem develops out!

I'm not huge on VR. There are aspects of this product that make you think, "that's it?" However, for the price, I think it's a really fun add on. The build quality is really good. Kids love it. It has a little bit of novelty factor. If you aren't comparing this to VR setups that are hundres or thousands of dollars, then it's a fun time.

The headset is very comfortable on my head and face. I had to sit it higher on my face in order to get it to see clearly. The available free apps for me are enough to keep me entertained.

I bought the 2017 Google daydream view headset. This headset works well with my Samsung s7. This has a great FOV is 101. I have tried other headsets with a smaller FOV and the difference is very noticeable. The best part of this headset when compared to Samsung gear vr is how light this feels.

I bought this for deep discount and I bought the cardboard. The device keeps light out that the Google cardboard can't. Buy this for any sort of long term use otherwise not worth the MSRP. Only works with specific phones. Be sure you have one of those in the list.

3.5 Stars - Fitment is wonky, overheats

I give it a 3.5, but I won't rate it at 4 stars because it's not good enough to allow the extra half for display purposes. This is a great headset... When it sits on your face properly. With the head strap being at the top of the "goggles," it tends to pull the bottom of the headset of your nose, throwing of the focus and thus breaking the experience. I found myself constantly adjusting the headset to keep the focus, often having to push and hold the bottom to prevent the picture from washing out. Not having to adjust the pupillary distance is nice, but the flat lenses mean only what's right in front of you is in focus... You can't dart your eyes around without looking at blurred images. The overheating was annoying too.. couldn't play a game or watch a movie for more than an hour before things started stuttering. I have a Pixel 2 XL... You'd think Google'd have it worked out to prevent that on their flagship phone. My final gripe is that fact that you can't view Cardboard content without hacks... C'mon Google... Who's in charge of making the stupid decisions? Why alienate the premium devices from the majority of content, in a market you created? This headset is great overall in the ergonomics, premium feel, and image quality, but several of the design decisions range from "SMH" all the way up to "WT*, Over?". If you just plan to live in the Daydream marketplace, it's plenty adequate, but the price should be closer to $50, definitely not $100. I'm mulling over returning it and waiting for a better standalone product.

Get this set first to see if VR is something you can really get into. If you really like VR, then you can invest in more advanced headsets costing a whole lot more. For $100 or sometimes less, this is a very good entry level VR headset.

This headset is very comfortable and easy to adjust. The problem i had was i didn't realize the Google Pixel 2 xl screen can blur a lot. Like so much it is impossible to not notice. and its very apparent with VR.

The graphic effect is less than desired, as expected for its price -- especially if you got it on BFD sale. Quick pairing, and comfortable band adjustment, and can fit glasses rather comfortably

    Dream with your eyes open!

A lot of my students were interested in making VR apps for meditation 2-3 years ago. However, they always asked by critics, "Why do we meditate with our eyes open?" It was a difficult question 2-3 years ago, because it was a common sense that we meditated with our eyes close. Thanks Google for coming up this slogan, "Dream with your eyes open", to spread the idea of opening your eyes while doing resty activities. Because of this slogan, I switched from my Samsung Note 6 to a Pixel 2 XL, and now acquired the daydream headset to upgrade my cardboard VR work. It won't happen without this slogan. Google is famous for coming up half-done consumer products, but this slogan is something else. Oh, last thing, the controller was a gift, you don't get position data, but as a pointer, the orientation was very nice with very little latency. This is probably why it came out last year with a demo of "Fantastic Beast", wand is such a good interface for this controller.

There are certainly much more immersive VR systems available but for the price (and assuming you have a compatible phone) the Daydream headset is a great way to test the waters of VR.
