Easy install but I cannot separate the 2.4 and 5ghz. While most 2.4 devices will connect, I have one device which that the router will not find and I have to connect to the Guest Network which is 2.4. Also I cannot delete unused devices off the list.

Posted .Hi there, Retired. Thanks for leaving feedback on the Google Wifi. We’re glad that installation went effortlessly, and we hear your concerns about the Wi-Fi frequency bands, along with the user interface to manage your connected devices.
Google Wifi has simultaneous dual-band (2.4 GHz/5 GHz) Wi-Fi supporting IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac. And it uses the Proactive Band Steering feature to guide your connected devices based on their capabilities, and attempt to select the band that will deliver the best performance. Both frequency bands are active simultaneously and Nest Wifi keeps it simple by automatically choosing the band that gives the best Wi-Fi connection. Every wireless device is different and has its own rules (factoring in signal strength, congestion, etc.) to select the best band. So it’s possible that your phone connects to the 2.4 GHz band, while your laptop connects to the 5 GHz band. Ultimately, your device will decide which band it will use to connect.
The Network tab in the Google Wifi app and Devices section in the Google Home app lets you see how many Wifi points and personal devices are connected to your Wi-Fi network. You’ll be able to check how much data each connected device (like a laptop, phone, or tablet) uses. Devices that are no longer connected to Google Wifi network may still show up on the list of connected devices. It is normal and that it may take a while for their device list to refresh.

Long time fan; fast and easy setup

Had one area with weak coverage so purchased another unit to fill in the gap. Simple setup and the app tells you if signal is strong. Only wish for smaller form factor, which you can get through Nest WiFi for more money.

Plugged in a ethernet that greatly improved the speed up on the 3rd floor and was still connected to the mesh. Only payed $60 for a refurbished one.
