So I replaced it with this refurb unit until Google releases the next gen Nest Wifi with Wifi 6E compatibility. But this one does the same thnig - it just takes longer, about a week, between drops. A power-cycle restores it but...that's annoying.

Wi-Fi signal coverage may be affected by different factors and we recommend trying out some tips below to help isolate the issue:
- As a general rule, points work best when they’re no more than two rooms away from each other. For example, if the far end of your house has weak Wi-Fi, don’t put a Wifi point in that exact spot. Instead, put it part way in that direction. Try to place it in an elevated position like on a shelf.
- Building materials and other objects located between your Google Wifi Points and mobile devices may slow your connection. If possible, try to use your device within a clear line of sight to your primary and secondary Points.
- There could be signal interference due to traffic on your Wi-Fi network, on your neighbors' Wi-Fi networks, or from other sources like microwaves or baby monitors.

We suggest performing a power cycle by disconnecting both your modem and primary Google Wifi Point. Then leave them unplugged for 5 minutes, make sure that the modem and primary Google Wifi lights turn off completely before plugging them back in. Some modems have backup battery packs, you will need to disconnect battery packs if your router has one. Plug the modem and primary Google Wifi back to the power source and allow them to turn on fully, then connect the router to the modem via the WAN port with an Ethernet cable.

The product itself is great. My concern was the total disregard for packaging shown by BestBuy staff. I bought a refurbished unit. It arrived rattling around inside a larger, battered box with no padding. Not even some screwed up paper to cushion it during delivery. I was amazed it wasn't broken. I will definitely think twice about buying from BestBuy again if this is how they treat their customers' electronics.
