We understand that longtime Nest users enjoy viewing their Nest camera feeds from the Nest app. However, our priority with this launch was building a complete experience for our new cameras and doorbell in the Google Home app. We’re working on bringing full functionality to the Home app as we want to create an integrated experience with other Nest and smart home devices. And while the new Nest cameras and doorbells are exclusive to the Google Home app, users with previous versions of Nest cameras can view their camera feeds in the Google Home app alongside the new Nest Doorbell and Nest Cams.

Also needs subscription so I returned it and got the eufy camera instead that have 2k video quality and no subscription needed.

Only quirk was that you cannot use Nest app anymore - only the Google Home app On another migration, we could not use any iOS devices to setup existing t-stats ONLY way to setup was using a Google phone

The new Nest Cam (battery) is exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience. Our long term plan is to use the Google Home app as the one place you can control all of your favorite Nest and other smart home devices, as well as Google Assistant. In the near future, we’ll allow users to set up previous Nest devices and have full control in the Home app. Users with older cameras can view their camera feeds in the Google Home app alongside the new Nest Cams. Our team is working on bringing full functionality to the Google Home app so all of your cameras can be set up and controlled in one place.

Got the refurbished ones and even with the current Black Friday deal on the new one I saved $30 each. Ordered one and loved it so I bought three more to complete the perimeter of my home. Even have 3 plugged in for full time viewing access.

If you have bought into the Google ecosystem, then this is a great camera. I will say, they are over priced. However they work. All the time, every time. Unlike our cheaper other brand that sometimes won’t connect. Battery life, charged once in a month, still showing 2 months of battery life. MMV there, but at least for us, battery life between charges isn’t a concern.

I could not set it up as soon as I rev it bc I went on vacation. So can’t return it :( I fully charged camera. Had it installed and it died 2 days later. I’m beyond disappointed and dissatisfied and need best buy to fix this. I’m tired of talking to foreign ppl who’s not listening and keeps passing me around
