Impressive Camera and Light

The video quality is great in night vision. I can zoom in impressively far. The Nest subscription is worth the $60 a year, but is completely optional.

Nest cam with floodlight refurbished

A new junction box, Romex wires with plug, drill, masonry bits and fasteners, and some caulk was needed. The reburished model looked new out of the box. I did have to call Google support due to errors with communication with the home app. Two restart cycles fixed the error. Great tech support with Google. I do prefer the older nest cam IQ video quality, but the flood light works great.

Great Integration with Google Home

Adding the camera in the Google Home app was also very simple. The motion sensor has a great range, and the lights and very bright. I'm only giving it 4 stars because I couldn't angle the floodlights exactly where I wanted them, and the video quality seems a bit more grainy with less detail than my previous Eufy camera.

Great floodlight camera

I decided to replace that with the Google Nest Floodlight and it works amazingly. Installation was a breeze, operation is also easy. The only downside I have is that this will only work in the Google Home app, NOT in the Nest app. So if you’re used to operating all of your devices within the Nest app you’ll need to jump into Google Home for this one.

I would recommend this light to anyone looking for a flood light camera. Installation was really easy as well. Word of advice there is a screw that connect the cable to the camera ... BE CAREFULL with this screw it is very easy to loose.

If set to prioritize motion, there are occasional alerts with no visible movement recorded. The lights do not brightly illuminate the full field of view. A third light would be noticably better. Overall, pleased with this unit.

After 1 week I noticed my base unit wasn’t charging the camera and had to return it before it would stop working entirely. Regardless if you buy this particular item new or renewed pay close attention to make sure it is charging correctly or you might just find yourself past the return period and be stuck.
