The Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen) comes with three hours of event history right out of the box, which requires a subscription before. There’s no fee to stream live videos and to receive notifications. But you’ll need a Nest Aware subscription to receive advanced features, and if you need more than three hours of events history. We offer 2 types of recording for Nest Aware subscriptions: event video recording (30 days). With Nest Aware Plus, you’ll get 60 days of events history and 10 days of 24/7 video history. A range issue or wireless interference can affect the connectivity of your doorbell. It may fail the connection test during setup, or will struggle to stay connected if you're experiencing a spotty connection or weak signal. We recommend checking your Wi-Fi network to see if your bandwidth is congested. This may happen if you have too many devices connected on the same bandwidth or if your network package is not enough to handle the data traffic on the network. These few steps may also help:
- Turn off other devices connected to your WiFi that may relieve network congestion.
- You can also try restarting your router to reset your internet connection. You should also restart any Wi-Fi range extenders or repeaters that you have.

Mounting plate, wire attachment, and even the screws were all in yheir respectable places in the box. Unit also works great.

Has to be perfectky flush, about broke my fingerts trying to push this thing onto my vinyl house. Also times out and will not stay on 24/7 as far as display. Downgrade in my opinion, I like the older models beter. Cannot connect it to nest either.

We’re aware that longtime Nest users enjoy viewing their Nest camera feeds from the Nest app. However, our priority is to build a complete experience for our new cameras and doorbell in the Google Home app. We’re working on bringing full functionality to the Home app as we want to create an integrated experience with other Nest and smart home devices. This device should be installed with the mounting plate and wall screws provided to make sure it’s securely mounted. If not, it may prevent your doorbell from locking onto the wall plate and working properly.

This works better with Google Home than Nest did. There was a lag with Nest with notifications. No problem integrating with existing doorbell.
