      Hey there, BasselA. Sorry to hear you didn’t experience great battery life on the Nest Cam (Battery).Battery consumption depends on factors including activity, temperature, and selected camera settings. On average here’s how long the battery will last on a single charge:

      Busy - About 1 month battery life (about 25 - 30 recorded events per day)
      Typical - About 2.5 months battery life (about 13 - 16 recorded events per day)
      Quiet - About 6 months battery life (about 2 - 5 recorded events per day)

      Here’s a few tips to conserve battery:
      1. Optimize its video quality.
      2. Shorten the length of time for which events are recorded.
      3. Take longer to begin recording between events.

    Not worth the money. The camera has a very difficult time catching anything. I've even adjust the sensitivity to high and it still only starts to record after the person has walked up/past the camera. My older Arlo system is much better.

      Your camera runs algorithms to process video and audio data so it can determine whether it detected something you might want to know about. If you only need your camera to detect people, animals, or moving vehicles, we recommend that you do not turn on the basic motion and sound detection feature. You might have to move your camera, change your camera’s angle, or change something in the scene so that you don’t miss important activity and choose which events your camera or doorbell can detect and record (people, motion, package etc.).

    I really wanted to get this camera working since i already own other google devices in my home but the Google Home app just would not detected this camera, therefore could not get to use this camera. After a few hours of wasting my day fiddling with it, I ended up returning this camera. This will give me a chance to check out all the other brands.

    I do not see a reason for so many negative reviews. It could be little challenging setup for non technical person but these days YouTube can help you with anything.

    Just like the new doorbell this thing is AMAZING! It's vision is strong and very sensitive to anything going on around it. Quality and connectivity are strong and quick!

    Sorry Google, you took out all the Nest Value out of this and forced us to use Google Home to utilize this camera. Nest was a better interface. I ended up buying Eufy by Anker. Much better price, twice the resolution and full 365 day battery? Oh, and their app is better than google home. Sorry, Ill be upfitting my house with at least 8 cams and discontinue to use the Google/Nest line of products. At this point, it's all in the name you got going for you.

    I wanted a farmers that I could see on my iPad in front of tv. This way no porch pirates. This camera works great and the display is crystal clear

    Battery life is horrible, lasts maybe two weeks. Doesnt work in the older Nest app with my existing cameras. You can only access it in the Google Home app that has less features. I ended up returning it. In comparison i also use the Blink wireless cameras that use 4 AA and they last over a year before changing them out.

Also, your camera could have detected a lot of activities, as the battery life will depend on factors including activity, temperature, and camera settings that you select, which can be extended by adjusting video quality, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and using activity zones to monitor specific areas.

    Third camera. Needed to replace

    This is a third camera that needed to be replaced because the battery discharges even though it is continuously plugged in. Paid electricians to check outlets. All pointed to camera issues. Google was no help and equally save on internet that others experienced problems. Works now after getting a new camera. Not sure for how long. Would not get this camera brand again.
