These are ok, a little disappointed in streaming quality but it gets the job done. Have lots of issues with connectivity, however ease of use and set up is really easy. Battery life on these last forever, almost 3 weeks. No weather or rain guard so when it rains view is obstructed

I install these products as a profession, I currently have 2 Outdoor IQ, 1 Indoor IQ and 1 Nest hello(not the new google branded) not to count the other various hubs/google minis I have in my home.
This camera I purchased for my own personal use to become more familiar with so I can speak to its features and specs.
Just like EVERYONE else the issue is the fact that when you go to the nest app to scan the QR code it gives you the "you need to add this to the google home app".
Once you have it added the functionality and the layout of the features is not easy and user friendly like they are on the nest app. You cannot see your cameras feed in the google app unless you select said camera which is why I do not use the GHOME app for my previous cameras.
The fact you cannot see this camera in the nest app either is a huge turn off on selling this especially to anyone who has one of your previous gen cameras. I know I will receive the same answer of
" Our teams are working on enabling the ability to setup and control older Nest cameras in the Home app so users will have one app to control all of their devices. We’re also working on bringing full functionality to the Google Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience with other Nest and smart home devices."
THIS IS NOT WHAT YOUR CUSTOMERS ARE ASKING FOR! Its great you are integrating everything to the google home app. I am not disagreeing with this either, go ahead and do the above. You need to let this camera integrate to the nest app in the meantime as well. Otherwise your reviews are going to keep going down the drain on this, which seems like a fairly important factor and considering its only a 2 and a half star on BestBuy after only launching for less than a month is concerning am I wrong?
Hi there Mkocerha, thanks for giving us a review about the Nest Cam (Battery) and the Google Home app. We’re sorry to learn of your poor experience with using the camera in the lack of integration with the Nest App. We appreciate your feedback as it helps us better understand our customers’ preferences and needs. We’re aware that longtime Nest users enjoy viewing their Nest camera feeds from the Nest app, however, our priority with this launch was building a complete experience for our new cameras and doorbell in the Google Home app.
If you come across an issue with your Nest Cam (Battery) and using it effectively in the Google Home app, please let us know here and we’ll do our best to help: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp

This camera works well, has a stong enough battery, and a fairly strong magnet so it can be placed just about anywhere. The only problem i see is that it needs a subscription to get the best use out of it.

I love the ease of installing and setting up these cameras. As long as you install the app on your phone you will always get notifications when something crosses into its path. The night vision is great as well.

Great quality built. Love the night vision, very clear and I love that it can distinguish a person from an animal. Would definitely recommend. The only down side is that it doesn’t come with a way to secure it so it won’t get stolen. This is why I can’t give it a 5 star.

These are great cameras but they should have included the outdoor power cables. Battery life is ok but if it's in an active area, you need to have it powered. Video quality is good. App is... not great... but it works. It's sometimes very glitchy when trying to browse video history.

Good video and audio. Very easy to install although I had to try multiple times to get all the way through the process. Battery life so far is great. Wish they were constant on like the other nest cams but other than that very good cams.

The price is high but the video quality is amazing. The set up is simple and anyone can do it. The online guide helps if you are lost as well. If you wanting to upgrade your security cameras these are worth every cent.

This camera is great. Easy to install, but the cable provided was SO SHORT! A longer one should be available. I had to spend another $40 for a proper plug, this the four stars. Also, this only works in the Google Home app. I wish it also worked in Nest app because I have two older cameras. Otherwise a great camera and great resolution.
One other thing is when I go back through video, there is often gaps of when the video doesn’t record. I don’t know if it’s my internet or the camera. I wish it was continuous video though.

Reliable Indoor/Outdoor Cameras / Easy Install

Nice Indoor/Outdoor cameras. Easy to install with flexible mounting options and plenty of accessories for various mounting ideas. I always run these cameras plugged-in. I never run them on battery mode. However, I'm sure they operate nicely as rechargeable units. Adding a Nest Aware subscription gives you recording and playback options with a basic subscription at $8 per month.

Over all, its very easy to install, set up panels.., but I would love for it to have the feature Heard events to work while connected to solar panel. I noticed that in some instances it detect me but in others it dont.

Solid Upgrade

I do feel like this is an upgrade over the previous Nest IQ cameras largely due to the on-device biometrics. It’s very impressive how quickly it can pick up a known face (almost instantly). In general, notifications come in again almost instantly vs. about 30 second to 1 minute with the old IQ cameras. The vehicle notifications are also very handy. Allows me to keep the motion alerts category of notifications off which provides a much quieter experience in terms of notifications.
The video quality looks on par with the older IQ cameras. I’m using the cameras in wired power mode. The night visions seems slightly better than on the IQ cameras, but it’s very close. It is nice to see Nest release a battery camera which increases its versatility. I know everyone was hoping for a true 4K camera, but it’s just not feasible to have say 5 or 6 cameras all streaming 4K video to the cloud at the same time. We’ll get there eventually, but just not yet. Overall, a solid upgrade!

This camera is a breeze to set up in the Google home app and has a lot of great features. It works exactly as expected and the sleek design looks good anywhere it’s placed. For the price, it would be nice if the resolution was higher, but other than that this is a great camera!

I hate the fact that you have to use the Google Home app to view them.
In addition, the battery does not really last that long as stated.
However, the quality is awesome and the camera works as advertised.

Hi Ramon, we appreciate you taking the time to write this review. We're glad that your Nest Cam (battery) works as advertised, and are sorry to hear your poor experience with using the Google Home app, and the camera’s battery life.
We’re aware that longtime Nest users enjoy viewing their Nest camera feeds from the Nest app. However, our priority with this launch was building a complete experience for our new cameras and doorbell in the Google Home app. We’re working on a seamless solution to use the Google Home app as the one place you can control all of your favorite Nest and other smart home devices, as well as Google Assistant. Also, using Google Home app provides you with a lot of benefits including access to Google's trusted security platform and access to other Google tools. This means you get a simpler interface and a simpler way to connect all your devices into a single environment.
Battery life will depend on factors including activity, temperature, and camera settings that you select. You can extend the battery life of your camera by adjusting video quality, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and using activity zones to monitor specific areas. This link might be helpful: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/10901611
If you still have to charge the battery more often than you’d like, you might want to consider connecting your camera to a power outlet with the included or optional power adapter. Connecting to continuous power will keep the battery charged. Please note that the power adapter included with the Nest Cam (battery) is not weatherproof and not intended for outdoor use and you can use a compatible weatherproof cable (sold separately).
We can also check for other reasons why the battery life is less than expected. If you're willing to work with us, please get in touch with us through our available support channels found here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp

The cameras work well without hard wired but o my last one month. Charging connectors are finicky. I always have to brush them with sodium peroxide

I set my expectations after reading the reviews about the cameras and I like them so far.
I had the non battery ones before and I understand what everybody is complaining about, not being connected to the nest app and only working with the google home didn't feel like a deal breaker after all. you can always choose to only view your cameras on the google home app and see everything together without being disturbed by all the other smart devices connected to the app.
Also being on Idle not a big issue since it will detect motion just as well as the old versions, it's a plus since it saves battery.
quality can be changed if you don't like what it's defaulted to and I'm keeping them on high quality and they both capture clear videos.
battery life is good so far, %94 after over two weeks.
I wish they had two charging wires as everybody mentioned and for that I'm skipping one star but other than that I feel they're great google cameras for the price.
