We’re aware that longtime Nest users like you enjoy viewing the camera videos using the Nest app or web app. Our long term plan is to use the Google Home app as the one place you can control all of your favorite Nest and other smart home devices, as well as Google Assistant. In the near future, we’ll allow users to set up previous Nest devices and have full control in the Home app.
To optimize battery life, it offers event video history and will detect and capture important activity at your door, so you can focus on the details that need your attention. Our goal is to give users more choice. With event video history, we wanted our products to help our customers, like you, to understand what’s going on at home easily and highlight the important activity for you. We still offer 24/7 video history on wired Nest cameras/doorbells with a Nest Aware Plus subscription if you choose to connect your Nest Cam (battery) to a power cable (sold separately). Definitely returning it and buying the corded one, not paying additionally for a cord that should be included with the cordless if battery will not last long. Super disappointed!

I am using them outdoors and they have performed great, down to 8 deg F so far. The price for a multipack during a sale they had made it an easy decision.

So that meant no installation necessary. We love being able to keep an eye on our doors for deliveries and the odd visiting dogs and cats (which you can turn off notifications for if you want, but still see in the history). Found out the neighbors dog came to our house at 2:00 in the morning for a drink while his mom was waiting for him to come back inside - oops. Charge is fast and easy!
