The cameras were fully charged and then discharged after ONE DAY!! Thank God I can still return it!! Bye bye Google Nest, I'm off to find something better, you know something that actually works. I've had two different (MUCH CHEAPER) security systems before and just wanted to upgrade. Nest is most definitely NOT an upgrade unless you want to keep charging your cameras daily. Also, the doorbell is impossible to get off with the tool they give you, so you can't charge that either (that drained the batter after one week!!)

Sensitive to motion as it picks up every bug and light that passes by. App is easy to use and was easy to set up in app.

My neighbors asked me on several occasions if I had footage of something their camera picked up and nothing. Highly disappointed.

Motion detection on Nest Cam (Battery) can be affected by changes in the light level, and shadows moving across the frame like when a cloud moves in front of the sun. This also includes other movements within the camera's field of view like trees or bushes swaying. If you're not getting any alerts or notifications, we recommend trying out the steps below:
1. Change the Activity Zones on your camera. You can delete your existing Activity Zone and create a new one in any area within your camera's field of view. Just make sure that none of the zones you create overlap.
2. Change the angle of your camera and account for the lighting in the surrounding area.
3. Restart your Camera.

Not Nest quality doesn’t come with everything

If you want wireless cameras just go with another brand on the market, these are not the same as the original outdoor cameras. Nest app is being phased out, these only work with Google home. Biggest issue, only comes with one tiny charging cable, so even if you wanted to wire this like the original, you now have to spend even more to get another cable, good luck finding one at time of purchase. For this price point, it’s absolutely mind blowing.

Night Vision video quality can be affected by internet speed and other issues. Below are some solutions to try. Check your camera’s view in the app after each one:
- Clean the lens with a soft cloth that’s made for cleaning optics. Dust, thumbprints and dirt can cause poor image quality.
- Turn your camera so that any nearby surfaces or objects (like a wall) are out of view.
- Use the app to zoom and enhance, and crop out surfaces or objects that may be the cause of the glare.
- If a bright white shape along the edge appears while everything else is too dark, there might be a surface that’s too close in your camera’s view (like a wall). Angle your camera so the surface stays out of view.
- Move nearby objects that may reflect the infrared light.

They are out of the warranty period so they will not do anything to replace the cameras. Would not recommend as they do not last and they don’t stand by their product quality.

Busy - About 1 month battery life (about 25 - 30 recorded events per day)
Typical - About 2.5 months battery life (about 13 - 16 recorded events per day)
Quiet - About 6 months battery life (about 2 - 5 recorded events per day)
Here’s a few tips to conserve battery:
1. Optimize its video quality.
2. Shorten the length of time for which events are recorded.
3. Take longer to begin recording between events.

Also, since you really need to hard wire them in order to get all the streaming, they should at least have the option of buying wired ones.
