I wasn’t sure about moving to the Google Home app but it’s been great so far. Battery life is fantastic

We’re aware that longtime Nest users enjoy having the option to view their Nest camera feeds from the web, and we are working on adding this experience. However, our priority with this launch was building a complete experience for our new cameras and doorbell in the Google Home app.

The lack of power cable allowed me to put cameras where I needed without all the extra work. I think I’m going on 30 days or so with no battery issues.

I have dogs that go outside several times a day and activate the camera and it still lasts for several weeks. Highly recommend!

On-device processing also gives our customers smart alerts and Activity Zones, which historically have required a subscription. There's no fee to stream full resolution live video and receive basic notifications, as long as your camera is connected to the internet. However, you’ll need a Nest Aware subscription to receive advanced notifications. With a Nest Aware subscription your video will be saved to the cloud and you’ll get extra features.
