This is literally trivial to do and there are tons of complaints online.

Sometimes it does not record any type of event even if it passes right in front of the camera, the quality of the recordings is not very good

We suggest checking each of the camera settings so you can choose which events your cameras can detect and record (people, motion, package, etc.). From there, you (and each member of your home) can decide which of those events to get notifications for. If an event is turned off, you won’t get notifications for that kind of activity. Using activity zones to monitor specific areas can also help.
You can also adjust your cameras’ video quality that may improve the resolution. The higher the video quality setting you choose, the sharper and more detailed your footage can be, but it also uses more of your internet bandwidth. This setting lets you choose the maximum video quality for your cameras. And whichever level you pick, your camera will automatically adjust its resolution and compression according to how much bandwidth is available. However, don’t like the new Google Home format as much as the old Nest format. These cameras can’t be added to existing Nest app. You first have to migrate your account to Google Home.

We understand that you have enjoyed using both the browser on your computer and the Nest app, to view your video feed on Nest cameras. However, our priority with this launch was building a complete experience for our new cameras and doorbell in the Google Home app. Here are some benefits you can get by using the Google Home app with your Nest Cam (Indoor, Wired):
- Automatic security protections such as Suspicious activity detection, 2-Step Verification and Security Checkup.
- Your Google Nest devices and services will work together. For example, if you have a Nest Cam and a Nest Hub, just say, "Hey Google, show me the backyard camera” to cast your camera stream to your display without any additional setup.
- One account to sign into both the Nest and Google Home apps.
- Your homes and home members will be aligned across the Nest and Google Home apps.
