    Amazing upgrade

An absolute upgrade from the previous version. I replaced my doorbell and indoor cameras with the latest version and the image quality is far superior. The audio quality is the real show stopper, I can hear a conversation from across the room even if the background is loud. I wish I had upgraded much sooner.

I have multiple Nest cameras around my house, and this was my first of the next generation. Easy to setup and add to your environment, great night shot ability and clear picture to boot. It is a bit disappointing that it does not integrate into the existing Nest Aware infrastructure so using the Nest App doesn't integrate this camera. Google Home is used instead. The adjustability when mounting directly to a wall is also lacking, I ended up buying a wall mount that provided more directions of freedom in adjustment.

Hi there, MichaelT. Thank you for being a loyal advocate of our Google Nest cameras. We appreciate that you had an easy time setting up your Nest Cam (Indoor, Wired) and that you liked the image quality. However, we understand your disappointment with the move to the Home app.

We wanted to create the Google Home app as the one place where you can control all your favorite Nest devices and other smart home devices with the Google Assistant. Here are some benefits you can get by using the Google Home app with your Nest Cam (Indoor, Wired):
      - Automatic security protections. The Home app offers features like suspicious activity detection, 2-Step Verification, and Security Checkup to enhance your security.
      - Seamless device integration. Your Google Nest devices and services will work together efficiently. For instance, if you have a Nest Cam and a Nest Hub, you can simply say, "Hey Google, show me the backyard camera" to cast your camera stream to your display without any additional setup.
      - Simplified account management. You can use one account to sign into both the Nest and Google Home apps, making the user experience more streamlined.
      - Consistent settings. Your homes and home members will be aligned across the Nest and Google Home apps, providing you with a more cohesive and coherent user experience.
      - You may set up your older Nest cameras to the Google Home app. Check out this help article to learn more: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9893532

We understand that you may have some questions and concerns about the transition. Our support team would be delighted to answer them and ensure that you have a worthwhile experience throughout the process. The Google Nest Cam (Wired) in Snow has been a reliable addition to my home security setup. Its crisp video quality and wide-angle lens provide comprehensive coverage. The wired connection ensures a stable and consistent feed. The Nest app's user-friendly interface and smart alerts keep me informed of any activity. Installation was straightforward, and the sleek, white design seamlessly blends into my home decor. Overall, a highly effective and aesthetically pleasing choice for those prioritizing home security and surveillance.

Great overall camera, would recommend. Easy to setup but strong wifi is a must. Reconnecting to a new wifi can be annoying but overall 8/10 camera. Picture is great during the day but does need some light at night if the camera is looking out a front door window etc. I think a mix of outdoor and this indoor cam would be perfect. Find what your needs will be before purchasing. 30 day recording history is also $8 a month..... keep in mind.

I put this in a window to overlook a parking lot after a car break-in. You can disable the IR lights in settings, so it works at night without reflections off the glass. You get notifications of movement telling you vehicles, animals or people, through the Google Home app and 3 hours of free recordings. The app lets you download clips to share. The cord is fairly long and the camera is easy to setup. 1080 is pretty good, but not like CSI enhance! levels of detail. Good value if on sale.

Perfect to supervise my kids while they stay alone at home as I work. Easy to talk to them without waiting until one of them picks a phone or anything. Just talking straight out to them on the cam, we can choose together their dinner so I buy it and send it to them. No more rush from farmlands to the city and I know they won´t have upside down the house when I arrive after work. It setups in minutes with Nest Hub scanning the QR provided with the cam. Use it with Google Home on your phone. Is a great pairing, google tv, cams, lights, air conditioner, all together. I can manage temperature as kids always want colder. And I see them when doing so. So I can see who is guilty of charges all the time.

I purchased this Nest camera to install in my basement so I could watch my young children playing in the play area while working upstairs. It was worked very well and was very simple to set up and start using. I can easily pull up the video feed on my smart phone or from the Nest Hub that I purchased as well. The field of view on this camera is very wide and I'm able to clearly see the entire area. I would definitely purchase another one if I need another area covered.

The Google Nest Cam was a great addition to my smart home setup. Unboxing and setting up the camera was a breeze with the included instructions and Google Home app setup they quickly guided me and had me setup within just a few minutes. The camera does have some heft to it but it comes with mounting hardware if you want it up on a wall or someplace not flat. You can setup "Activity Zones" that make it so the camera is only looking in those areas for movement to alert you or you can just have it look everywhere. You can also set it up to only record when you're not home just so you can keep tabs on what is going on when you aren't there. There is an optional subscription service that will give you more recording options. You get a running 3 hours of video recording which should be sufficient when you're trying to go back to a recorded event. The camera does allow for 2 way communication and the delay is not that bad so you can also use it like an intercom system for your setup so it facilitates communication. Overall I'm very happy with the Google Nest Cam and it already helped me capture an intruder in my kitchen! It was me :)

Great wired camera for your home

I already had the Nest doorbell camera, and I was looking for an accompanying indoor camera to keep an eye on my dog when I wasn’t home. I chose the Google Nest wired indoor camera to fit my needs. The first task I had to do was migrate my Nest doorbell camera to my Google account, since the Nest account does not accommodate the Google indoor camera. Once the accounts were merged, the process of adding the Google Nest camera was very easy. Using your smart phone’s camera to capture the smart label on the camera identifies all the information needed by the app to begin the setup process. Within five minutes and after accepting the google user agreements and naming the camera you’re up and running. The camera gives you the option to mount the camera on a wall or the ceiling or use the camera’s stand to place it on a flat surface. For my application I chose to place it in a cabinet to keep it out of site. The app gives you three hour history look back and Google-Nest have plans for you to capture longer history from the camera. All in all this is a very good indoor camera for keeping an eye on your home while you are away.

I like this new wired nest cam, the alert via Google home is nice you can pick what alerts you whether person animal whatever. The video and audio are super clear, I decided to set this atop my kitchen cabinets. Setup is simple via the home app, took about 5 minutes to complete. I like that this is hardwired as I hate to charge batteries. I like that we can ask our Google displays to show the camera footage. This is replacing my old logitech circle indoor/outdoor cam, which was me, and dropped wifi connection often. I definitely recommend giving this camera a try. The included 3 hour footage is nice, I won't be subscribing to the extra cost Nest aware.

This camera is super easy to set up compared to many other brands. Open up Google home, add device and scan the QR code. Just pick what room its in and you're good to go. I have cameras around the house to use for security, keeping an eye on kids in the play room and as a baby monitor. Combining this with a Nest Hub is great because you can pull up the video feed on the Screen. Audio and video quality is excellent, and latency/lag is very, very small. It has a good weight so it won't move around if its sitting on a surface, but also comes with wall mount hardware if that's where you prefer to put it. Depending on where you plan on using it, you can differentiate between people, animals, vehicles or just all motion. This is handy because when i'm at work i don't want to be alerted a thousand times when the dog walks by the camera. The motion zone setting is great because you can set a minimum height. This is a great alternative to allowing pets to walk freely without triggering an alert.

The video and audio quality for this camera is much better than the 1st Gen camera that I just replaced it with. It has a heavier base that makes it much more sturdy as well. The only downside is that I can't use my 30' USB cable that I purchased for my 1st Gen cam since the new camera has the cable built in. I'm sure I can get something else to extend it if needed but the built-in cable seems to be long enough for now. Other than that it's great and worth the update from the previous gen camera.

    Solid Indoor Camera

The camera quality is good and since it's a wired device, I have not had any issues with connectivity. For an indoor camera, you won't be disappointed. For install, when you take the sticker off the camera itself, don't throw it away as it has the QR code and you will want it for an easier installation. I am just not much of a Google Home app fan. It just lacks the ability to set alerts that make sense. I have all alerts turned off because you cannot set it up to only get alerts from specific times of the day. I have yet to research other options but I'm sure there is a solution out there.

    Decent Camera with limited integration

I use multiple different cameras and other IoT devices for my home, so integration to other platforms is important, and unfortunately with the removal of using the nest app and only using the google home app this camera doesn't work for me. If you don't have other cameras or you exclusively use Google for your smart home this may work for you, but if you have any other home hub for all your devices this is not going to work. The only way you can use the camera is through the google home app, which means even the nest app that had some integration doesn't work. Outside of the one big negative for me, the camera is pretty good. Setup in the google home app is easy, and I love the ability to ignore motion for known faces. This feature lets you not get a notification for people in your household which is nice if you are using the camera to help guard your home. You do have to use google services to use the camera, so there is no on-device storage which may not be for everyone. The actual camera is a pretty solid build, and heavy enough to stay in place plus it comes with mounting brackets. I actually would have liked this to be an outdoor camera, so it's also a little disappointing it is only for indoor use. Overall, if you are using only google for your smart home and want an indoor camera this is pretty decent. But if you are in multiple ecosystems then you won't be able to add this camera there.

Hi Blahnika, thanks for sharing your experience. We’re sorry to learn that Nest Cam (Wired) didn’t meet your expectations.

The new Nest Cam (Wired) is exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience. Our long term plan is to use the Google Home app as the one place you can control all of your favorite Nest and other smart home devices, as well as Google Assistant. In the near future, we’ll allow users to set up previous Nest devices and have full control in the Home app. Users with older cameras can view their camera feeds in the Google Home app alongside the new Nest Cams. Our team is working on bringing full functionality to the Google Home app so all of your cameras can be set up and controlled in one place.

We value your feedback as we’re always working to understand our customers’ needs. If you have questions you want us to answer, feel free contacting our support team here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp madebygoogle

Far better than Ring, but horrible setup process

Years ago, I started off with Ring cameras, but after upgrading one camera to Google Nest, I had to upgrade them all. The quality of the motion detection is far superior, but the setup process is horrible. The nest devices do not support 5GHz Wi-Fi and to get them to connect, after wasting a couple frustrating hours and starting over and over, I found that temporarily disabling 5GHz during setup resolved this. The worst part is that google support only provides useless fake/canned responses. They are so obviously canned auto-responses as they repeat your question in their useless response and do not answer the question and mark the topic as closed so that you cannot even follow up. Also, they still rely on BOTH the nest app and the home app to get multiple devices to work together, and you cannot find this anywhere in their documentation. They are far better than Ring, but they have a long way to go a leave a lot to be desired.
