    Bought it to put on my Nest account. Doesn't work on the nest account. Luckily I have the Google Home app. I don't always read reviews.. But when I do, it's too late...

    Does not stay connected to the app and has to be repaired often. User interface is difficult to manage and trying to delete and image data is complicated. Google does not make it easy

      We recommend checking your Wi-Fi network to see if your bandwidth is congested. This may happen if you have too many devices connected on the same bandwidth or if your network package is not enough to handle the data traffic on the network. Your camera may be out of range (if more than 25 feet from the router) and can become disconnected due to weak signal. If your camera is mounted too far from your Wi-Fi router, you may need to extend your Wi-Fi network’s range using an extender, boosters or additional Wi-Fi access points. Wireless interference can give you trouble connecting Nest products or other wireless devices. It can also cause slow network communications or intermittent disconnections. So your Nest products might continuously disconnect and reconnect, or they may be slow to respond to app control.

      Here are some steps that may also help:
      - Plug your Nest camera into a different power outlet to rule out power issues.
      - Turn off other devices connected to your WiFi to see if this is about network traffic.
      - You can also try restarting your router to reset your internet connection. You should also restart any Wi-Fi range extenders or repeaters that you have.

    the nest camera is now not compatible with the original nest app so now I have to go to 2 different apps to view my cameras because google home app is terrible

      The new Nest Cam (indoor, wired) is exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience. Our long term plan is to use the Google Home app as the one place you can control all of your favorite Nest and other smart home devices, as well as Google Assistant. In the near future, we’ll allow users to set up previous Nest devices and have full control in the Home app. Users with older cameras can view their camera feeds in the Google Home app alongside the new Nest Cams. Our team is working on bringing full functionality to the Google Home app so all of your cameras can be set up and controlled in one place.

    Good but does not work with the Nest App

    Good design and picture quality. However, I will not be purchasing anymore since the new cameras will not work on the Nest app. I have used Nest for years and prefer the Nest App over the Google Home app, the Nest app is superior in many ways.

    If you are looking to upgrade your current nest cameras, this isn’t your solution. You will have to migrate your nest app over to google home. Also you won’t be able to view the full days recording only clips of motion. Not sure why google is messing with the nest brand but they are going backwards instead of making improvements.

    I should have read the reviews before I purchased this. To my frustration I found the camera does not work on the nest website where I use my existing cameras. Google has apparently responded to other reviews noting this they wanted to create an "integrated experience". But I want a *working* experience, and when I purchased a new Nest camera I expected that it would do the job at least as well as the Nest cameras I already have. I purchased two of these today and will be returning them tomorrow. No difficulty setting up, hardware appears to be of good quality etc. It's just that it doesn't do the job I bought it to do, apparently by design.

    Ripped offed. Does not work with all my other Nest products. They should not put the work Nest on it if it does not work with Neat. Into the trash this goes.

    If you use the nest app do not get this camera since it only works in the home app. With a product called “nest cam” you would expect it to work in the nest app.

    Good camera. Only thing I don't like is it will go offline sometimes just like my nest cameral does. Picture is great though, especially at night.

    I'm done with Google

    I spent over an hour trying to get this camera to connect to wifi but kept getting an error. Since Google took over Nest everything has unfortunately gone downhill. The new Google cameras also don't work in the old nest app and the old nest cameras don't work correctly in the Google home app. I finally got fed up and returned the Google Cam and exchanged it for a simplisafe. I had the simplisafe camera hooked up and connected to wifi in like 2 minutes.

    First of all, do not buy if you use the Nest app to consolidate all nest devices. They force you to use the google home app which is garbage, slow and makes no sense why they would change it. 2nd: the quality of this camera compared to the other nest camera's is very noticeable and not in a good way. Do not buy!

    Camera and resolution are good and visibility at night is great even with night vision off. The issue is the lack of ability to take pictures or record when you want, save any footage even though you have the nest subscription. If Google wants to stay relevant with the competition they need to update the controls and software environment and give more control to the owners.

      You have the ability to download multiple video clips that event video history automatically captures. If you have event video history, your Nest camera will automatically generate a video clip of the activity that you can download. If you have 24/7 video history and want to create a video clip of a specific event you will need to download one of the automatically generated video clips and edit using your phone’s native video editor.

      We request for your patience as we’re working on a seamless solution to create a better user experience. And we suggest having the latest version of the Google Home app that may improve camera playback controls to make it easier to play, pause, and navigate between events from the camera history view for cameras set up in the Google Home app.

    Not Nest anymore. Getting worse.

    With this camera you can’t even with subscription have real 24/7 video. And you can’t use web interface to cut needed portion of video you needed. It use only application and video as combined shots as video. Video quality not so great. Always visible recording led light (use tape to cover it if needed). Application usage vs web (Nest): web interface was much better and more options. App is very limited.

    Google took a perfectly good product and crapized it. Image quality is poor when compared to 1st generation. Night vision doesn't hold up either. Swapped this one previous version in two rooms and you can SEE the difference. More clarity and not as fish eyed a look. Also, cannot connect or view through Nest app. Have to use Google Home. Lame. Will be buying a previous version in the coming weeks. Sell this one at a discount.

      You can adjust your cameras’ video quality that may improve the resolution.
