    Works great! Was worried about mixing 1st gen nest cameras with these newer gen Google cams. Easy to use both in the Google Home app.

    Cool Down Kills Functionality

    The "cool down" period for the Nest Cam wired and also Nest Cam battery is completely unacceptable and renders an otherwise stellar product nearly useless. If you get a notifcation from the Nest Cam wired, you will not get another notifcation for the next ten minutes. So if you have this camera watching a room with pets or an elder or child, or if something triggers the camera and then someone breaks in a few minutes later, you will NEVER RECEIVE A NOTIFICATION for the new event. It will record the new event that takes place within the ten minutes after the first notification, but it will not notify you. Makes absolutely no sense - let the user decide how often they want to receive notifications. Google has something good here, nice wide angle, neat design, but they are absolutely killing the potential and expected use of this Nest Cam wired with this ridiculously unacceptable cool down period.

      To get better notifications with Nest Cam (Indoor, Wired), we recommend checking the settings for your notifications and alerts. You can choose to receive notifications for everything your camera detects, or choose notifications for only certain types of activity. Here's how:
      - Open the Home app.
      - On the home screen, tap your camera.
      - Tap Settings.
      - Select Notifications.

      We also recommend setting up Activity Zones. You can create custom Activity Zones for your camera for different types of activities that you want to be notified about. To learn more, check out this link:

    Got it for $60 on sale, great value. Indoor, but I have it out of direct sunlight under a patio eave.

    Much Better than Older Nest Cams

    Love the new design, picture is much clearer than the older models. I like this one because it is wired. We have Google Mesh, no issues at all with set up or network connections.

    Compact, a bit short on viewing options. Works only with google home app, not nest app. no web-based interface. works great though, and price point is nice.

    Looks nice with our home decor. It’s very conspicuous. The only draw back is that it uses the google home app and not the nest app.

    NOT for those with existing Nest equipment

    Maybe good if new to Google/Nest, horrible bait and switch if an existing Nest customer. You'll be forced to create a Google Home account, which disables most of the Nest integrations (such as turning off the HVAC when there's a fire). Nest smoke detectors aren't supported by the Google Home app, so now you're stuck with two apps. The Google Home app (the only place to access your new camera) is horrible. Home Screen shows useless icons with no current status views until you drill into specific categories or devices. Viewing prior video is based on clips, and can't be smoothly swiped through. This is the first Nest device I've ever returned, and the last I'll ever buy. Google has managed to destroy the Nest brand.

      A range issue or wireless interference can cause your camera to disconnect from your Wi-Fi. Sometimes it may pass the connection test during setup, but will struggle to stay connected if it’s just a bit too far away. You may also check for objects such as mirrors and refrigerators between the camera and your router as these items could block the connection.
