This version of nest camera utilizes the google home app, which isn’t the greatest. I find the google home app to be clumsy and it lacks some of the key functionality features that the Nest app had. I wish google would work on the app or allow the newer cameras to be used in the Nest app.

Our long term plan is to use the Google Home app as the one place you can control all your favorite Nest and other smart home devices, and Google Assistant. In the near future, we’ll allow users to set up previous Nest devices and have full control in the Home app. Users with older cameras can view their camera feeds in the Google Home app alongside the new Nest Cams. Our team is working on bringing full functionality to the Google Home app so all of your cameras can be set up and controlled in one place.

We wanted to make the Google Home app the one place where you can control all your favorite Nest devices and other smart home devices with the Google Assistant. Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Camera was not compatible with Nest App. The Nest App gave instructions to set up in Google Home, but the Google Home app said to use the Nest App to set up. Bottom line: set up was incompatible with both Nest and Google Home apps. Returning this product to the store.
