It is a quality camera, however, I can’t help but feel there’s better options on the market.

Posted .Hi Christine, thanks for posting a review. We’re glad to hear that you find Nest Cam (indoor,wired) great, and we regret to hear about the connectivity issues you’re experiencing with it.
Connectivity issues can be caused by different factors like location and distance of Nest Cam, Wi-Fi router, outdated phone and Google Home app. This may also be caused by Wi-Fi network congestion and Wi-Fi interference with other devices and/or networks. Removing other devices from your Wi-Fi might help. You can also try setting up your device on either the 2.4GHz or 5GHz bands and see which band is more reliable.

We're able to keep an eye on the kids and talk them from wherever we are if need. Sometimes it randomly disconnects from Google Home and I have to reconnect in the app. Only thing I really dont like is that you can't stream video from the camera; not compatible with the latest Chromecast with Google TV.

For connectivity issues, you can check the following:
- Check the location and distance of Nest Cam (indoor,wired). Make sure the device is within the recommended distance (15-20 ft.) away from the router.
- Check for possible sources of interference such as microwave ovens, refrigerator or other devices in your home that may weaken Wi-Fi signals.
- If you have a dual band router, try setting up your device on either the 2.4GHz or 5GHz bands and see which band is more stable.
- Outdated phone and Google Home app.
We understand that being able to stream videos using the new Nest Cam (indoor,wired) is a great feature. We’re aware that longtime Nest users enjoy viewing their Nest camera feeds from the Nest app. However, our priority with this launch was building a complete experience for our new cameras and doorbell in the Google Home app. We’re working on bringing full functionality to the Home app as we want to create an integrated experience with other Nest and smart home devices. While the new Nest cameras and doorbells are exclusive to the Google Home app, users like you with previous versions of Nest cameras can view your camera feeds in the Google Home app alongside the new Nest Doorbell and Nest Cams.
