Easy to install.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was worried about installing on my garage 100' from WiFI and the cost but I have had no problems so far. It seems to stay connected. I would have rated it 5 stars but I was disappointed with the enhancement feature, about a 4 second delay for live streaming and having to pay for subscription. The enhancement is only good on "Live" feed. This doesn't do any good if you want to review prior video of someone and want to zoom in. Only doing the trial period for 30 days to make sure everything continues to work well before paying a fee. I do like having the ability to only purchase a 5 day plan for $50 a year. Don't need longer than a 5 day history. Plenty of cord to plug into wall outlet on garage. Video is very clear. I tried the ARLO Q which was half the price of the Nest IQ but I highly recommend the Nest.

Maybe better over time
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really wanted this to work - here is the good and the bad -- Face recognition is very cool BUT it will only send a notification via phone - My Google homes are silent -- the device goes offline .. A LOT - I get 1/2 green screens where I need to reboot - Better cabling than the older model I think net-net .. maybe I got a dud -- and as always BB is great

Disappointed

It only adjust up and down!!!!! Greatly disappointed. If you turn the camera to adjust right or left then the image is turned 90 degrees!!! what in the world was nest cam thinking! now i have to order sometime of wall mount accessory to angle the camera better.

Great Pic, Crappy Sound

The sound quality on the two way talk is horribly low. You can only hear each other I'd there is complete silence around you. And how often is there complete silence outside? Overall we love the cameras for the picture, but we paid extra for the nest as opposed to other cameras for the 2 two way talk feature. If that's what you are interested in, then save 50% and get another brand. The only reason I dont take these back is I dont want to take all 5 of my cameras down and repack them

faulty camera and horrible Nest/Google service

Also Nest will keep you on phone for hours with delay tactics and if you outlast them you get sent a refurbished camera with the same problem and it starts over again. They are aware of the problem but make you explain yourself over and over again as you wait on hold for a really long time. The last wait for Senior person was 1 1/2 hours before a hung up and never spoke to anyone. Nobody calls you back! Imagine a tech company who does not have the software/phone system to call you back instead of leave you on hold to die. VERY DISAPPOINTING service!! left with a broken $400 camera and unused subscription.

Lots of Issues.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought 8 of these (both indoor and outdoor). Generally they work well. But, there are serious problems. The zones you create to mark when a person walks into the zone often does not register. The cam on my porch could see a person standing there for several minutes and not register it on the playback marking or notice that is supposed to be sent when someone enters a zone. Also, the playback does not have a time/date stamp that is viewable when you copy the recording. . . say to give it to the police after a break in. When I called for assistance, the main people have no idea how to deal with issues and I was kept on hold for over and hour and a half for a supervisor before hanging up. Nest, you could be great. Get it together.

Junk Camera and Even Worse Customer Service

After 4 months camera died and would not power up. I called customer support and we tried all the "tricks" to get it to power on to no avail. Customer service said no probelm "we'll send out a new unit". Fast forward 2 weeks. Still no replacement camera. 5 calls to customer service and there is a delay in replacement of two plus weeks because they have no stock due to "hardware" issues. Now I can't even get a refund because nest says I didn't buy it from them. Junk Camera. Junk customer service. If you are looking for an outdoor camera, find something other than this one.

Not Worth It...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I regret Buying this Nest-Cam IQ Outdoor Camera, it has super Poor 4K Quality when you zoom into objects, I have its setup at Max Resolution 4k, and when I need to retrieve the video from Nest Server its complicated and videos look choppy with low quality even at max resolution. And the Nest Subscription is a scam way over price. And don't forget it will eat all your comcast data plan, why pay high subscription and extra, and ones you pass your data cap you must pay ISP extra money for extra GB. I will be switching to traditional cable line CCTV Cameras that also have alerts and remote login as well for a cheaper price. Google NEST is not worth it. Also, videos don’t have Time Stamps on any of the Videos, the only way to see Time Stamps is when you enable Subs title while playing videos on VPlayer.

Motion Blur makes the camera useless.

A face becomes a featureless blur. Unless you can get people to pose for a few seconds, they are unrecognizable. My cameras were mounted in a parking garage under fluorescent lighting. An outdoor application might have better results.

Blurry image due to movements may be related to the bandwidth congestion on your Wi-Fi network. Nest cameras typically require between 0.8 Mbps to 4.0 Mbps per device to upload properly, depending on the video quality setting you selected.
You might have several devices connected to the same Wi-Fi network. We suggest disconnecting some devices on the bandwidth to relieve the traffic, and connecting your Nest camera to see if it provides reliable high quality video feed. If this enhances the video quality, it may mean that your network bandwidth is not enough to keep all your devices connected. We recommend contacting your internet service provider for a resolution.

Really disappointed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really liked the concept of this camera. I was really excited to get it going, but I never could. It kept giving me network errors. (error code N009(15.5) I tried every variation of security settings and it still gave me network errors. I even completely disabled any and all security features on my network. It still wouldn't log onto my wifi. Tech support was non-existent. They just use automated bots through chat that give you generic solutions that never work. I really wanted this to work and I'm really disappointed that it didn't. Everything has to be done through the app which is an absolutely awful app. I can't believe Nest/Google put their name on an app thats THAT bad. Pretty bummed out about this.

The product is also poorly supported by their customer service. Nest aware is also too expensive for what it offers
