The power cable allows the camera to function constantly and responds immediately to any motion as programmed to detect. Although the battery mode is functional and does not require any physical connection, there is a slight lag in recording in battery mode.

Actually it was about 10 feet less than what I needed, but long enough to get it inside. I used the supplied clips to run the wire along the eve. Still need to paint the wire so it doesn't look so obvious. A very simple cable. No complaints.

Works well. Wanted weatherproof cable because of the cold weather and other weather elements like rain. Only downside is that it's really too long. Wish Google made a weatherproof cable it was maybe 3 ft long or even 6 ft long.

Also, when wired, it s always on and never becomes idle. Highly recommend.

This allows the Nest cam to be powered and not have to be taken down and recharged. Taking off a star because I feel it should be included with the Nest Cam.
