“Upgraded” my first gen Nest Doorbell I purchased in 2018 for the 2nd gen wired Google Nest doorbell in 2025. Pretty disappointed in my purchase. Picture quality is the same, likely even worse than my 2018 Nest model. Even with the proper settings, this one doesn’t record as much “non-events” as the 1st Nest one.

It's a pretty big device, let's get that out of the way up front. If you don't have a lot of space to mount it, then you might have some issues. Google made the instructions extremely simple to understand and follow. The images and audio are both clear. You need to download the Google Home app, but it's easy enough. I certainly recommend it. My only issue is that there's a street light across the street and it's right in line with the camera, so it won't switch to night vision, I have to do it manually if I remember.

The video on this doorbell camera compared to the old one nest doorbell is much brighter. The only downside to this is that the camera is not as wide as the old nest doorbell. Other than that it works just as good.

Wonderful! Got this to replace our Ring doorbell so that all of our smart home devices could be controlled in the Google home app. The picture quality is GREAT and it was so easy to set up! I recommend purchasing the best aware to maximize the usefulness of this product.

Love love love this device. I get alerts on my phone when someone is close to the door, regardless if they ring the bell or not. I can monitor package delivery and even answer the door remotely if im not at home

Super easy to install it took me a minute to figure out but thats just me i wat hed a youtube video on it and after that it was smooth sailing! No power tools were needed and setup was even easier hooked right up to my wifi and the video quality along with the audio quality is next to nothing out right now! Its amazing super crisp and clear with night vision that looks just as good as daytime veiw! Would 10 out of 10 recommend and have recommended!

I really love this doorbell. I had a Ring for about 5 years and it was starting to flake out a bit, so i needed a replacement. I already have several Google products (Nest router, hub, etc), so it was an easy choice to go with this doorbell. I couldn't be happier. Quick and easy installation and seamless integration into my existing Google Home products. The night visibility is excellent and I really love the recognized faces feature. 10/10 would recommend!

Installed easily from doorbell installation, wireless connection to bell wiring to connecting to the existing chime. Clear video feed. Been running for several weeks with no issues.

The doorbell works great, video is great, love the product itself. the review would have been higher except that I did not receive all the things I was supposed to get. I did buy an open box one, but it said it was excellent and was supposed to have all original items and original box, etc. It was missing the allen wrench tool that is critical at the final step. It was also missing the wire plug adapter piece to help allow the doorbell to sit flush against the wall....so I had to put spacers in to allow for the rigged wire connections to have room. Now I have to figure out how to fill the gap left around the doorbell. So good product, but bad experience ordering an open box item that was supposed to same as new essentially.

Love, easy to install. My mom had a nest doorbell wired and it was an easy swap. Waiting for it to go on sale to buy another.

Great improvement over gen 1. Good quality picture

When subscription costs rose on the OG Nest doorbell, our home went on a multi year trial and error quest to find a suitable non-subscription/cheap and trustworthy replacement. Especially given the recent Eufy breach of trust - I'm extremely glad to have only tried their product for a short while. Using this latest wired version of the Google Doorbell without a subscription gives me 99% of the features that I want, and it's reliable by factors of magnitude more than the competition for the price.

This is my 3rd Nest doorbell. The first died during a thunderstorm and was replaced by Google under warranty. The second died during an ice storm. Both apparently couldn't take a power surge. Still, both provided a clear view of my driveway and walk. The current one does the same but with increased resolution. I can zoom in to see exactly what's happening across the street. Hopefully with the addition of a surge protector, this one will last longer than 4 years.

Excellent job Google for making this product. Video quality is good, i paired with Nest speaker and it's the best combination
