Installed this video door bell and the first night it captured images of a teenage neighbor who knocked on our door and ran at 11pm. Simple features connects in the nest app if you already own other nest products such as a nest thermostat. Requires a paid subscription to store and access video. If you do not have a paid subscription it will just be a live feed as someone rings the door bell or activates it via motion. It has zone settings to activate the camera only when something enters the zone. All in all it has been super convenient for our front door monitoring.

This has allowed me piece of mind while I am away and my wife is alone at home. She never has to answer the door unless it is someone she recognizes on the screen. Set up was pretty easy for us, though you do have to be comfortable with electrical wiring, if you want to install this equipment yourself (which isn't necessary). I bought this around the holidays and was pleasantly surprised by the addition of yuletide chimes I could use. As with all these smart doorbells, if you want to have recordings, you need to pay for a subscription.

The Nest Hello is great! Installation was a breeze, crystal clear video. The only thing i would make better are the features that are available without the Aware monthly subscription. Pricier than the Ring.

My wife and I wanted to upgrade our house security and decided to start with some cameras. The first was a Nest Hello for our front door. It hooked up easily to our existing doorbell setup and worked right away with ease! After adding a second doorbell (needed to upgrade the transformer, but otherwise painless) I am much more comfortable being able to see who is wandering around my doors. Pros: - Can turn off my doorbell chime so no more barking dog when someone rings the doorbell! - Connects to my Google Assistant and notifies me "Someone is at the ... door" when someone rings the doorbell. - Only about a 3-second delay between someone being caught by the camera and it notifying me on my phone. - Works with Apple Watch! The notification image appears on my watch screen when the doorbell is rung or if a person is seen. Can use pre-recorded messages to respond to visitors or speak myself from my watch or phone. - The app is EASY to use and navigate. - If you have any issues, the Nest customer support is incredibly helpful. Have had one of their thermostats for a while and during the Covid-19 epidemic they are only doing the online chat to help, but when I needed it I was connected immediately, given great care and assistance in troubleshooting, and left the conversation confident. Cons: - Adding multiple Hello devices may be too much for the existing doorbell transformer. If you are getting regular offline notifications you will need to upgrade. Could be a costly electrician visit or a $25 upgrade if you feel comfortable yourself. Suggestion: - Think about using the angle attachment when installing. Get the most out of the view. My front door is in a corner so it made sense, but my side door, adding the angle I get more of a view toward the front of my house so I can see sooner if someone is walking up my driveway. I do not lose anything at either door, Have not had a single problem with my device since getting everything settled. 100% recommend to anyone looking to add a little more security to their home!

Best Buy installed this product for our family within a week of purchase, though there were a few challenges during the install. The greatest part about this doorbell is the resolution that you receive through the Nest app. You can watch the camera on what the door bell receives in real time, and see short snippets of the past few days worth of notifications that you set for the doorbell. Unfortunately, you only get 1 month for free and have to pay $50 a year to continue receiving this service. If you do not sign up, you will only receive snippets and not be able to play them back. Another negative is that the notifications you do receive on your app are delayed long enough that often times the person who you would want to talk to has already left. So even if you wanted to send an alert, or make a sound, to scare off any would be package stealers, they will have already ran off with your package. In the end, what you get for the price compared to other products is not near as good. If you are part of the Nest family of products (like I am), this could serve as a decent addition. Otherwise, if you can find a product that finds more features, I would encourage you to seek them out.

It's all in one if you think for s moment. Doorbell, super wide angle camera with high definition images, intercom and 24/7 attendent, no mater where you are, you have your eyes on your door. It integrates very well with Google home, setting up customized notification for different events. It also recognize the familiar faces and remember them. I would say it's a remarkable watchman for your home. For installation, it's a little tricky but if you are familiar even a little bit with low voltage, it should be very easy.

I was a little weary of this at first, but set-up was a breaze (just needed a volt meter and some simple tools) to install. Overall I have been using this for a month ant it picks up nearly everything, and the video quality is fantastic. I like that it sends notifications to the phone, but depending on how busy the street is, there can be quite a few. I would just say that a good internet connection is recommended, though did well with just a 14mb upload speed, not very much lag.

It's a good doorbell with a clear camera. I haven't subscribed for the ability to save videos but it was a relatively easy install. Make sure to know your wiring before you buy and follow the pre-planning checklist on the Google Home app or online. We did have some problems getting the chime to work but a half hour online helped that.

I did a lot of research before ending up with the Nest Doorbell. What set it apart from it’s competitors were the HDR video, night vision, facial recognition and the ability to view the front door and yard from one little doorbell camera. I actually bought both the ring and nest and ended up returning the ring and stayed with the Nest Hello due to some of the features mentioned above. It was actually a Best Buy rep they let me know about the Nest hello step up features compared to the competition. Hector from the Sunland Park Best Buy.

The presale compatibility check helped me get a good idea what I needed to change. Turned pit I only merf to check my 12VAC transformer to a 16VAC one. Took cate of that and went ahead with the doorbell install. Followed the instructions in the App. Went without a hotch. The doorbell powered up and I finished up the install. That's it! Having the google hub to announce either a stranger or someone it recognizes is very useful. Video is clear and I can figure out who is at the door very quickly. Very nice.

I prefer this smart doorbell over Ring any day of the week. This continuously records and the picture quality is far superior then Ring. It is a subscription based recording history. You can choose between 5 days or 30, and either pay per month or per year. Installation was extremely easy. I do all our home builds and installs so Im not a beginner but I think a novice could install this with ease. The Nest app is great and pairs with other nest cameras beautifully.

Works as advertised. The way our home is positioned we get direct sunlight onto our front door in the morning, so I was a little concerned that might impact the image quality. No way, looks great even in full sun shining directly into the camera angle. Install was a breeze following the video tutorial. Granted my home is new so the existing doorbell set up was in lock step with the 'standard' wiring. Hardest part was figuring out which breaker my doorbell was tied to, apparently the electrician was a little lazy here in labeling the panel. No big deal.

This video doorbell is a game changer! I see everything happening real time on my doorstep. I can answer the door as if I’m home when I’m not. One added feature is door to door religious peeps stay away once they see you have a video camera. I find that interesting. I installed it myself in less than an hour including watching the installation video. The unit pretty much sets itself up. We love the available storage subscription that allows us to keep a running 5 day loop. Nest products are impressive!

I resisted getting a smart doorbell for years. I have security cameras and didn’t see the need. However, I finally broke down and bought this one and definitely impressed. I hardwired mine and it was a simple procedure. The notifications are immediate. The ability for the software to identify faces, motion, packages etc., is incredible.

I highly recommend this doorbell, very good product, with very good video quality, clear video motion. It really is stylish and has this modern look to give it this expensive look when someone is at your doorbell. It is easy to use, and love the notifications I get from the google home app! I had a google tech come out and install it, I could have done it (easy to do) but I just didn’t have the time.

Great image quality, easy to install and easy to use!

I bought this for my son for Christmas. I installed it for him since I’m an electrician. Installing was a breeze. Setting the app up was no trouble at all. I went through the process checking his voltage before hooking it up. I’m not one to read all the instructions but I did on this one since it isn’t a cheap product. It works flawless. The picture is very clear. He loves it. I love the nest products. I have several nest cams at my house. Nest puts out a great product. We are very pleased with this purchase.
