Excellent Smart Video Doorbell
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nest has raised the bar for Smart Doorbell 1- Camera - SHARP Image! Night vision even can see in the dark 2- Only Smart Doorbell that has machine learning that can enable facial recognition. Note this feature does require subscribing to Nest Aware to use. Integration into Google Home Hub and Google Home mini. Announces when someone rings the doorbell and announce their name if the person is tagged by name in familiar faces. Easy installation with YouTube Video & photos even if you have not installed a doorbell before. Cons: In order to access previous video, it requires a Nest Subscription.

Love this product!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Cannot believe how long it took me to get this product, should have bought it sooner! Installation was extremely easy. Images are very clear and night vision is great too. I already had a Nest cam indoor and a thermostat, so it was easy to just add one more product. Notifications seem to be very accurate, and the face recognition is a bonus. I also like that the app keeps 24/7 footage, but highlights the moments when there was some kind of movement so I will likely be keeping the service active after the trial period. This is really an awesome product!

Google Nest doorbell review
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been extremely impressed with this doorbell camera both from a installation point of view and a function point of view. I had a skybell which this replaced and this is much quicker loads very quickly to voice is clear camera is clear in the recordings are easy to playback the only negative is the subscription service that one has to sign up for in order to continue to receive the recordings after the initial 30-day trial. However that being said it is very useful to have those recordings to be played back the system is also able to differentiate between sound motion a person and also a package left that wasn't delivered. Installation of extra device to the doorbell unit inside my home was fairly simple as well too. This item is a bit pricey and it's not found on sale anywhere has all retailers I checked had this for the same price. However it is a good product and for something as important as the doorbell it is worth the money

Amazing Smart addition to my house
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I always wanted to have one of these smart devices but was hesitant. This year, i made up my mind and bought it. The holiday sale price was such that you could not beat elsewhere! Now, every day, i wonder why i did not buy this earlier. Very easy to set up. I appreciate step by step, very clear instructions. It was easy to install since i have wired doorbell with enough power coming out of my transformer. I just had to swap the original ringer with this one. I love how it sends me videos of who was at the door, when package is delivered, when someone just comes to my house when i am not there. When kids are home and we are out, they know who is out there and they know if they need to open or not. This device works great with Google Hub. Basically, i think it exceeds my expectations. The only thing i wanted to mention is that if you add two of these, say, for front and back door, like i did, you will have to install two connectors that come with each of the door bells, and you need to make sure you have enough room to fit them. And, just follow video with directions - you wont make any mistakes and you will love this smart device! Thank you, Nest!

||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like everything almost everything about this doorbell. It is easy to install/use the app/and quality of pictures. I have a Samsung (android) phone, and am being told this is the reason for the awful echo and feedback that occurs when I try to talk or listen to someone. Ive talked to tech support with no solution.

Expected Better
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received this as a gift. I was excited. I had done my homework and believed this was the best doorbell camera available. I guess my expectations exceeded reality. The good. Installation was easy. I do like paper though, and found it frustrating I had to bounce between two digital documents to get the job done. Once I found the best of the two it was a simple matter to get it mounted to a stucco wall in place of my existing push button. Wiring the door bell, and the modification to the chime box was a one banana job. Setting it up to my wifi was also easy and I was online in no time. One suggestion. Just go ahead and use the 15 degree wedge. I don't think it's optional. The not so good. The hockey puck that needs to be installed in the chime box uses these crimp connectors that didn't hold. The wires pulled out as I was tucking the puck into the chime box. Fortunately, I had some bell-wire connectors and just used those. The camera works great as long as nothing is moving. Static images are rather impressive. The problem comes in if something in the image, like a person, is moving. Then the entire image is heavily pixelated. I've tried all three bandwidth settings to try and get a better image. Two pictures. Obviously I'm pixelated. But look at the bush in the background. The static image is much better than the image with me walking in front of it. The entire image goes to mush with movement.

On the expensive end, died after two years
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Doorbell is dead after only two years. Read a lot of similar accounts online, with no meaningful help from Google. When it worked, I liked what it provided (which is why I gave two starts instead of one); I don't care for what the other product provides. But it was offline a lot, for no apparent reason. I would reset the breaker, check and reconnect the wiring, no joy. It worked when it wanted to. Now that I've replaced it with another product, it will charge with USB but dies shortly after. Disappointing to get only two years (and a spotty two years) from this expensive product. If I didn't already have Google Home, I may have chosen a different product in the first place.

The Nest Hello Doorbell is terrific
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the Nest Hello Doorbell from BestBuy as a package deal with the Google Home Hub, and surprisingly also receive a Google Mini Hub with the deal. I installed the Nest Hello Doorbell without any difficulty. I first replaced my existing doorbell transformer with one that could provide 8, 16, or 24 volts. I used the 16 volt terminals on the new transformer. My old transformer only supplied about 10 or 11 volts. The doorbell and it's software were easy to install and set up on my PC, my laptop, my tablet, and my phone. The picture provide by the Nest Hello doorbell is terrific. and it it is very sensitive to sound (I could hear birds tweeting nearby). I also purchased the Google Home Hub to go along with the Nest Hello doorbell. The combo was a terrific deal. I was under the impression that I could see who was at the door with the Google Home Hub and listen to them. That was indeed true. I was also the impression that I could speak to them via the Google Home Hub. That was indeed not true. You cannot presently talk back to the Nest doorbell via the Google Home Hub. You need to additionally use a smart phone or tablet to speak to the doorbell and talk to someone at your door. The Google Home Hub used with the Nest doorbell is not doing much more than a TV would do if hooked in with the Nest Hello. Incidentally, I spent 2 or 3 hours with the Nest service rep in a chat session about not being able to speak to the Nest Doorbell through the Google Home Hub, and he never mentioned that limitation. I found out about it with a Google search.

Great Ring Alternative!!
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I switched to the Google Home ecosystem from the Ring ecosystem... The leading factor being the Ring doorbell was so inconsistent! Not connecting to live feeds or dropping signal, having to restart it etc. The Nest Doorbell was a great switch! The video quality is better, it connects EVERY time I go to Live. Catalogs footage better and makes it easier to navigate. It also pops up with the Nest Cams in the Google Home app which is nice to have it all in one place. I have seen some reviews where peoples covers have begun to fade and peel from excessive sun exposure. Currently that would be my only worry for this living in SE Texas. Mine however looks perfect still. I read where you can buy sleeves online as well if the issue does arise. - Great Video - Quick Connecting - Reliable - Quick Alerting - People, and Package Delivery Alerts - Wired for 24/7 Recording

Great Video Doorbell
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Replaced Ring Doorbell Pro with this one. Reason being is the Ring was unreliable with Amazon Echo Show display. Also the massive motion alerts no matter how I adjusted it was horrible. The Nest is much better looking design. The button is nicer feel when pressing it and what I really like is there is a chime for the person at the door to let them know it rang. I love the prerecorded responses. So if you are away from home in a meeting and get a notification you can just click a response to play and don't have to actually talk into your phone. I have both Amazons Echos and Google Home and this works flawlessly with google home system. When someone rings bells it pops up on google home display immediately and announce who it is. Facial recognition tells you who it is if you store their picture (like mailman, neighbor, friends, etc). Motion detection seems more refined than Ring. However 1 big reason for me was to keep everything in a single ecosystem. I have Nest Cams, Thermostat etc. and eliminating Ring eliminates another app. The cost for storing video is more expensive with Nest, but because I had other nest products I got my 1st year free. Great doorbell though and video is actually better on the Nest. This latest version is well refined.

Excellent Smart Doorbell
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just recently installed my Nest Hello and it was easy to setup. Install wasn't too complicated, you just need to know where your doorbell chime is and how to take off your old doorbell and you should be good. Just a good flathead screwdriver should do the trick, maybe some wirecutters and pliers, but those are not necessary. Unit itself is clean and stylish. Picture quality is excellent and the app is great if you're already familiar with the Nest apps. The ability to have 2-way communication as well as pre-recorded messages by Nest to use when you want to respond quickly without talking yourself are great. The facial recognition is also fast and it starts to learn who people are and will start to recognize familiar faces. Last but not least, one of the best features is if you have Google Homes in your house, you can set it up so that it can announce that someone is at the door when someone rings it, and it can even tell you who, if it recognizes who it is. Overall, a great product from Nest!

Works Great!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this a month ago and absolutely love it. We have become obsessed with seeing what goes on in front of our house and we love being able to watch the seasons change (in Iowa they changed several times in one day recently). In one short month this has already worked flawlessly through wind, snow, rain, and direct sunlight. Was very easy to install, like all Nest products are, and looks great on our house. I used the grade changer to get a better angle, but it wasn't absolutely needed. We've tried other similar products and this tops them. Very little to no delay in video or conversation. Sometimes a slight delay in the notification. The app is great and always runs smoothly. Only drawback I see is the price, which isn't high for what you get, and you get what you pay for. We have already purchased more Nest products and plan to in the future. Would recommend to a friend.

It’s good?, but not great.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having purchased the Nest thermostat I naturally looked at this one as an addition. It is fairly easy to set up. Installation was not a breeze for me as I had to replace the transformer and run wires. The wide angle camera with a 4:3 aspect ratio is great for viewing almost anything/anyone that rings the door. Night vision works great. I have experienced issues from time to time with the camera stuck on the loading screen, although this has not been often. Most of the useful features require a Nest aware subscription. Something which I do not like. Otherwise you will be stuck with an overpriced doorbell and a camera on open feen but not recording. Another complaint I have is that it looks like a toy. I originally thought it had a better look than the ring but now that it is one my house I feel like it’s out of place next to home hardware. I would recommend it although in my opinion the ring pro is a better option. Especially if installation poses a threat. As you simply need a ring chime for it to work.

A great way to enhance home security
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife and I spend significant time away from our home and I decided that a video doorbell would be a good idea. After weighing pros and cons of competing devices, I selected the nest doorbell for its facial recognition ability and excellent video. I found that installation was easy after watching the installation video. Linking up with my internet and iPhone was also a snap. I have received notifications on my phone when there is activity around my house and able to quickly review video. I will be adding more nest products at a later date including thermostats and an indoor video camera. These products will help me feel much more comfortable with the security around our home.

Nest Hello Doorbell
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just installed today but so far it's been great. The camera works superbly - super clear. At night, it is super clear b/w. I wish the up/down view angle was wider - can't see the ground right in front of the door (means I can't see packages on the ground there), but the left-right angles are great - very wide. When installing, look carefully at the site where it will be mounted. I had some door frame trim that was in the way of the mounting bracket, so I had to use a shim (a paint stir stick I cut to size) behind the mounting bracket to get the bracket into the right position. But the install guide was super smooth.

I actually REALLY like this one!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For starters, you need to pay the $5/camera/month if you wanted to save your videos for up to 4 days. I actually like that feature. It also documents all of the motions, people at the door, and doorbell rings. It even shows you a small preview of the video on your phone, until you click to open the full video in 1080. It has night vision. Very easy set up/install. The step by step instructions are found on the app. Just make sure you have enough voltage to the doorbell to operate the camera. You will need WiFi. Very easy self install though. It even comes with a 45° tilt if you needed to angle the camera to get a better view.

Great doorbell. Easy to install.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this on Black Friday so pricing was perfect. Installed it myself without any issues. The video instructions were excellent. Took about 30 minutes to install. I strongly recommend viewing Nest's "will this work with my doorbell" video. My house was built in 2007 so no issues there. The quality of the video is spectacular. I really like the integration with my Google Home setup. My parents have the original Ring doorbell, and this is far better quality with no false alarms so far.

Can see whats happening
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We looked at the other door bell cameras out on the market and settled on this one. I cannot be happier. Can see very clear. Works well Can set your settings the way you want. Easy to install Took about one hour from start to finish. 24 hr recording along with clips that can distinguish between person and motion. It can also learn peoples faces. With Nest you pay for what you want. You can get 5- 10-30 days of saved recordings. For this since I am home I chose the 5 day which most people go with. Each one costs a different amount and if you also put up another device you get a discount for the 2nd device. Really like it Only issue is that you cannot hear yourself on the saved recordings while talking to the person outside. So for that I give it 4 stars but I believe this doorbell fits my bill and is worth the money
