It's a very practical tool for a busy life. With 2 little kids, we used forget to turn the thermostat down at the right time. Programmable thermostats stick to a schedule and we had to "hold" the temperature when our schedule changes, and forget to change back. This thermostat learns our schedule . Also, the home/away mode detects our presence and adjusts the temperature settings to "ECO" mode, using less energy. These are small things, but add up to a lot of energy savings.

We decided to try the Nest after using a programmable thermostat for over 20 years. The great thing about the Nest versus a regular programmable thermostat is that you are not stuck with a weekly schedule. As I work part time it has learned my schedule and will turn down when I leave for work, different days of the week. The programmable wouldn't do that, I had to turn it down and then back up. You can also set the Nest using your smart phone. If we are gone for the day we can have the house warm by the time we get there. Loving it!!!

The Nest thermostat is an excellent product. I purchased 2 of them and installed them myself. I am glad that I brought them.

This works great. You do have to be in your normal routine for it to work right, but it's easy to reset the learning if needed.

This thermostat works great. Look slightly better then the 2nd generation. No problems or complaints with this new nest yet.

We a had an old Honeywell thermostat. The nest is great, you see and change the temperature of the house from anywhere.

I upgraded to this one because the new Nest e don't use the nest app. This one works great and it looks great. I just wish you could customize the screens through the app.
