||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.- THis is easy to install. works right away easy intuitive setup. nice dial which allows easy adjustment of temperature setting - ALso in the app through online access you can setup temperature for every two hour window. So each night during winter from 11pm till 6pm I reduce the temperature to lower the cost. And its running when I wake up. I live in an apartment.

My home was built in 07’, current thermostat did not require a common wire but luckily one was installed just not connected so all I had to do was connect one end up in the attic to the furnace to make it “live” and then plug it into the nest. It SAYS you can use the Nest without one but what ended up happening was my AC system would run for 30 seconds and then shut off for 10 and then kick back on. Certainly not healthy for the unit! This happens because the nest needs more power to charge its battery and my AC system didn’t take to that kindly.
