It looked nice and worked well with Google Assistant. We had schedules in the winter and were able to remotely turn on as we headed home. That is until just after the warranty expired. I had heard Nest had great support even after the warranty but not Google. I would expect a $250 unit to last longer. From research on the web it seems this is common for the unit to fail during the second year. Time to try Ecobee.

When installing it is relatively simple, but make sure that all of the wires are cut and stripped to the same length. If they aren't you will have a difficult time getting the thermostat seated properly. It took about 4 days for the Nest to learn our habits, but it took over right away. We are home quite a bit, so the way function is not effective yet. When we go on vacation it should do very well.

I haven't had any problems with it so far. It seems to have already learned our schedule and what temperatures that we like. The install was very easy and only took me about 45 minutes to complete.
