The Nest thermostat I purchased had a defective base unit. DIY install time 60 minutes, finally called Nest and spent 90 minutes more with them until they conceded it was a defective product. First they tried to say my installation was incorrect, then they wanted me to hire a licensed electrician, finally after more time and testing they admitted the unit was defective. Warranty covered the replacement part, shipped it to me and the 2nd install was less than 30 minutes since the unit worked. A lot of time wasted and I did not feel that Nest valued my time.

cool looking thermostat.. i think it would be awesome if it will be more compatible to all heat/ac. very expensive too.. compared to other thermostat

The device is very prone to errors. The battery is unstable even with the c wire connected, which causes errors with the display and wifi. The network adapter is also very sensitive. I lost the ability to connect to any wifi within 4 months of use. The Google support has support hours from 3am to 2pm and is incompetent.

This will not connect to xfinity wifi. Xfinity blocks Nest from connecting. I don't blame nest. I bought an ecobee which works great.

I am a frim beliver in these rhermoetats. Very convenient and easy to use home or away. I have a total of five in two separate houses and am able to control each home on one app.

Great Thermostat but kept going off line so i had to replace with regular Thermostat

It was great when it first came out, stylish and high-tech. In the meantime, the competition has caught up, so this is overpriced and starts to feel old, but I got it anyway to match my other one. The learning feature is useless, imo.

I was excited to learn about this device. I purchased using a $100 ComEd credit. Called my electrician to install and was told he couldn’t. Maybe some other time.

The nest looks really nice and has cool features but not totally worth the money. I feel like it has a mind of its own sometimes. But if you're into gadgets it's a must have.

...there is no option for setting your own calendar and schedule. The auto learn feature is not good for people who’s schedule changes from week to week.

The Nest Thermometer allows for remote setting, monitoring and provides great info. A recent incident that was learned of through the Nest, prevented potential freezing damage of internal pipes. I have 2 Nest thermostat controls that provide terrific insight as to what is going on in my home.

it worked wonderfully for about 6 months. then a Wi-Fi chip broke. they changed the product more unfortunately the new one does not mark the right room temperature. I will have to ask for another time to exchange it shouldn't give me so much trouble for the amount I paid

Good thermostat but is not working with an old system ac need to call a professional for installation

I'm not sure if I like the nest thermostat yet. The temp that I set it at, is not accurate with the room temp. Have to wait and see if it learns.

Nest makes it too hard to determine compatability ahead of time. Unfortunately, my thermostat could not be replaced with Nest. Returned for full refund.

As indicated this is just an average but expensive thermostat (after the $50. price drop).

Nest Thermostat. The product is fine until it stops working. Good Luck getting any help from Customer Service based in Philippines. They will spend hours debugging with you and in the end will not honor the MFR Warranty. Stay away from Google Tech Support and their products.

Nest was easy to install. Great customer support from company. Customer representative was able to diagram new wiring with a picture of the old thermostat.

This nest learning device has continuously turned the ac level to 78 every day at the same time,3pm. We have it set to 75. Have all the app and device settings that are associated with eco or scheduling. Wont buy another.

I purchased this thermostat based on reviews. Disappointed that there was not enough detail on the product page regarding compatibility. After effort to install, ultimately not compatible with our home though we did as much research as possible. The app for install simply states not compatible, but doesn’t give the reason why although we have a compatible system.
