    We have owned three homes and put a smart thermostat in each one. Nest in the first, Ecobee in the second, Nest again the in the third. Would not deviate from them again. Best algorithm for learning and monitoring. The integration to Google Home actually lets this down. Ecobee allows for multiple users no matter their "level." Nest creates a main app user and then add-on users. The add-on users do not have full functionality on the mobile app. E.g. - add-on users cannot take the thermostat off "away" via the app, they would need the main users to do that.

    I was concerned the Nest might not be compatible with my 100 year old hot water / radiator heating system, not to mention that there are only two wires leading to the thermostat. A friend has the same configuration, and he told me not to worry. Well - it works! Our central AC system has a separate thermostat in another part of the house. It would be nice if Nest would develop a wireless connection so one thermostat could operate both systems.

    My 30 year old thermostat quit working. I contacted Geek Squad and found out installation of a new digital one could be done under my current service contract for a $50 cost to me, plus the cost of the Thermostat. Research on Best Buy and with Geek Squad indicated the Nest could work on a double source system. Install and testing was quick and straightforward.
