This was good to control temperature from the phone, also can use it with google voice.

The product works exactly as described. Although I hired someone to install, after seeing the process I believe I could do it myself. There are YouTube videos to assist as well.

Ive been using this a few weeks now and like that I can control the temperature settings from my phone.

works well, uses less energy, took away 1 star because not sure if has figured out my schedule, granted it does change often.

I Will be able to set temperature from Florida, Always a worry as to what the temp is at home.

I haven't really researched a lot of other options available for Smart Home thermostats, but so far we've enjoyed our Nest. This was a Christmas gift as we transition to more Smart Home electronics. Very easy to setup and simple operation. The "learning" feature is a little hit or miss. Any changes out of the typical settings seem override previous settings. So overall, I don't think it has saved us much money yet. I do like the ability to manage the thermostat from my phone app.

Great product second one I buy. Would recommend. Can be monitored by your phone .

Solid product, helps with energy bills and is connected to the internet

I installed a Nest when they first came out years ago, however was gifted a different manufactured one a couple of years ago and thought it was too difficult to configure and very little energy savings. I then purchased the 3rd Gen Nest and absolutely love the changes they've added.

Love the nest thermostat. Able to control the temp through you phone. Love the learning feature. Only drawback was I was unable to claim the $100 rebate as advertised.

We love this thermostat because we can control it via our smartphones or tablets. It's very convenient since we don't have to physically go up to it to keep changing the temperature. I also love the fact that it senses when you're away and it goes into energy savings mode! Great product, design and features!!

I returned scones for nest. While it doesn't have as many features, it works well, which is more than I can say for ecobee.

This is a nice thermostat but we could never get the smart features to work correctly. It is supposed to learn you habits over time and then start adjusting itself to your schedule. This seemed to work somewhat when we first got it then it recently started to constantly put itself into eco mode. A quick search shows that many people are having this issue. Our thermostat is in an area that we never pass by so we never trip its sensor to let it know we are home. We adjusted all of the setting to try to get it to stop switching to eco mode on its own, including turning off all triggers and sensors and even turning off Home/Away Assist which should stop it from automatically going into eco mode. Nothing worked, it still would go into eco mode on its own after a few hours of manually changing the temp. The only thing that stopped this was for use to connect our phones to nest and turn on location so the nest knows when we are home. The only other option we did not try was a factory reset, but others have said this did not work for them.

Being able to check on the temperature across multiple zones at any point during any day is great. No longer feel like the heating system is turning on when I don't need it to. Being able to monitor for manual changes when you didn't initiate them is great as well.

We now have a total of 5 Nest thermostats installed in our rental units and primary residence and they are a great way to manage utility costs when no one is home. Some states offer rebates for installing Nest, so be sure to check with your utility company.

Easy install and online assistance. Setup also very easy. Still trying to figure out away temperature set up on phones.

Best feature about this I liked was that you can set fan to run for every hour that allows for air circulation through out the house

It’s very easy to install. The thermostat is smart to learn your patterns and create customize schedule. 3stars because it broke down after 2.5 years. Right after when warranty is expired.

I didn't really get to compare this vs the 2nd generation but just like all newer things, it has some upgraded chips I'm sure. Outside of the hardware, this is really great. We get to control the thermostat from our cell phones. Multiple cells. Also the eco feature is awesome. When you're it hoe just set to Evo me it will turn up/down temp to your desired temperature. It was a great buy as well because our local electric company was giving rebates for upgrading to a smart thermostat. Make sure to check their website to see if they offer such rates. With the rebates from electric company I will in return get over half the cost of it. It was a win win situation for us.
