This is my second next protect as I was so impressed with the first. Set up is a breeze by just mounting the plate, removing the battery protector sleeve, scanning the items QR code with the Nest app and twisting the protector into the mounting plate. I really like the night light feature that automatically turns on when it senses your presence in the dark. It's also of great comfort to know that when you're away, the Nest app will alert you to any dangers it detects.

Glad I bought them. Easy to setup, advanced features like auto-testing are great. There is a battery version and a hardwired version, perfect for replacing existing hardwired and adding a battery version where there isn't wiring. The light is a nice feature, and it resides in the Nest app on your phone. Nest also updates them pretty frequently.

This was the perfect addition to my smart home. It fit right in with my cameras and doorbell and thermostat. The app is intuitive, and user friendly. The alerts are amazing and prompt. I installed them myself. Super easy to do.

Easy to install. Sleek look, and I love the light that comes on whenever anyone passes underneath. Great product

This is a great product. I purchased my first Nest protect a few years ago. And have since bought 2 since. The battery seems to last a long time. When there is no light around the Nest and it senses motion a night light will come on. It is not bright but will shine enough light to show a path at night. These will connect to other Nest protect units and all will alarm if one is in alarm.

This smoke/CO alarm is very easy to install, especially if you already have Nest products and the associated App. Mine hangs high up on a wall in my shop. It runs on batteries so no electrical connection was required. It indicates on the App that it is connected and self tests. I intend to install another one in my house.

I know you’re not just supposed to love something Just because of its beauty but this Nest’s appearance was why I bought it and the second one too. Normally I find Smoke alarms/Carbon Monoxide detectors very unappealing. However these beauties are stunners and look gorgeous up on my ceiling. Our installation expert put it up in 10 minutes and it works perfectly. It is so convenient and works right from my iPhone app. You will love it!

Amazing smart smoke detector. You can't go wrong with google nest. Battery powered, no wiring, and easily integrates to google home. Google will alarm you to anything plus we love how it performs monthly alarm checkups and batteries when we are not around to make sure everything is tip top!! Provides a night light if walking by and talks to you if any warnings!!

I recently replaced all of my outdated fire alarms. I love my Nest! I can check the status from my phone and get a monthly report on my units. I can check the batteries (which are long life) and even shut the system down if I need to. A little pricer than other model but well worth the difference. Home or away I will get notice. Also, these units can tie in with the other Nest products (such as cameras and security)

The upstairs CO/Smoke Detector was getting old and time to replace, so I researched products and decided on the Nest Protect. It was super easy to install and connect to our house WIFI network, and showed up immediately on the Nest app. The Nest Protect monitors it's status each day, and sends a monthly complete self check report. The built-in night light is a great bonus!

Easy out of the box assembly. On install I had other older smoke/carbon ones in place, I simply removed the existing item and template and tucked the wires in, and then placed the Nest Protect hub and its template over the existing template and screwed into the ceiling.

I had to get it. I have pets at home that could be in trouble if my house caught on fire so this is great.!i love the fact that it rarely goes off while cooking (only when the husband does it) but it gives you a verbal warning before an annoying alarm. You can silence it and go about your business. Also if you are at work and your spouse is burning/cooking dinner you will know because it sends updates to your phone which is great

I've had our Nest Protect for awhile and wanted to review after we have used it. It's warning voice works well for smoke and for testing. And the battery works for a long time if you dont use the night light (and even the voice always). It appears in the app just fine and lets you know when last alert. And sign up for the Nest reports - it all comes together if you have other Nest products, thermostat, cams, ...

Purchased 3 of these smoke detectors to replace the ones that were original to my house. The first one was easy to set up and the second two were even easier. Love the peace of mind this gives me since I have 4 children in my home. We also love the night light feature. I wish they were less expensive but I feel it’s absolutely money well spent.

We have such piece of mind with this smoke detector. It's very sensitive so it has alerted a few times when the cooking got out of hand. It connects to our hubs and starts recording video of the alarm. It also works as a nest motion activated night light.

Works very well and the nightlight feature is great when walking through the house at night. Nest app notifications work well. Only issue I've had is silencing the smoke alarm from the app. Not a very quick response when silencing from the app.

There is nothing I can say negative. This is top quality and excellent design. I did something wrong in the beginning and switched the voice to Spanish. I called customer support and they were amazing helping me get it back to english and updating to the newest firmware. I have to say, I strongly recommend NEST anything! I sleep better at night knowing this is n the hallway. The night light from it is not too shabby either.

Great battery life. Great alerts when battery is running low. Will not wake you up in the middle of the night with an annoying beep.
