The device looks great. It was easy to install. What I like most is how you can easily check to make sure it is working by going to the Nest app on your phone. I have other smoke/CO alarms in my house but I really just have to trust that they are working.

I've had them for 11 months now and still haven't had a false smoke detection. One time while I was searing a steak on a very hot cast iron it did alert, but it was a simple mute. I like the scheduled monthly testing it does and notifies you in the app that everything has been tested and in good health. Would recommend, I got the battery version.

I love this product, and we love the fact that when you step in the hall it turns on the perfect night lite when it's dark, just enough light to see to get to the bathroom, it'll even set it off for the dog, and it checks it's self automaticly and I can be out of town even and it'll signal my phone and let me know if there is a problem

The Nest detector is super simple to install, and the interface with your smart phone gives you peace of mind. The night light feature works really well, and the detector gives audible warnings of trouble (smoke) and then Fire (lots of smoke). A great value!

This was easy to set up and add to my Nest app. I bought the battery one because this is an old house and I don't have power available close by. I really like the nightlight feature. Ours is installed in the kitchen and it is the most likely fire alarm to go off. I miss the wave capability that was in the original version of this product because I can't reach the Nest Protect to silence it. The other option is my phone and that's just awkward. At least it gives you a warning before screaming at you.

This is the second Nest product I have purchased and I will continue to use their products. It was easy to install and set-up. I love how I can view it from my phone with the app. And it was not too expensive.

This is one of the products you dont want to use but need and forget about the battery will last 5 years and the app is great so if it goes off it will alert me on my phone so i dont have to worry about hearing the alarm and set up is as easy as 123

Very easy set up. I like the monthly checks. And it doesn’t go off every time something in the kitchen is cooking. The app makes it easy to disarm. I purchased the battery operated model as they say they last up to 5 years.

Not only am I tired of ugly smoke detectors on our walls, but I've also grown paranoid with all of the recent fires in California and thought it important to get some new detectors installed. Installation was easy with one caveat... I had to retry the setup sequence three times before the app said that the initialization was successful. Not sure what that's all about, but - if you run into this issue - just fully close the app, press the big button on the Nest Protect three times, and begin again. Once I had that taken care of, installation on my wall was simple. Good design. Quality hardware. Voice prompts are refreshing. The siren is appropriately loud. One more thing that resulted in my four-star review: Whenever you turn your lights out, an ambient light sensor in the Nest Protect triggers their "Nightly Promise" feature that flashes a green light to let the user know that the sensors are working and everything is good. I appreciate the gesture, but it's really annoying when watching TV in a dark bedroom. The green light thinks we're turning on and off the lights as the television moves from show to commercial and back. So, we get a lot of flashing green lights prior to bedtime. Not a deal breaker, but I do wish I could turn off the feature (which doesn't appear to be possible).

My favorite feature is being able to silence the alarm if I am home and have just smoked out the kitchen while cooking dinner. The nightlight is a huge bonus! I love the Nest app and having all of our Nest products linked.

I like the long battery life plus the carbon monoxide feature and Was surprised by the night light feature. Great when I get up in the middle of the night

Purchased for my Mom for Christmas. Easy to install and the safety notifications that it provides are second to none.

I love that this fire alarm connects to your wifi and it sends you notifications to your phone whenever it detects smoke or if carbon monoxide is unsually high. It also notifies me when it is going to a monthly test to make sure the unit is working fine, checking the battery life etc. I much rather have a smoke detector that lets me know when I am not home that there might a potential fire rather than not know at all. If you can, I would suggest getting at least 2 for the common areas in your house since getting one for every room in the house can get very costly. If you have a spanish speaking family, this unit is great since you are able to switch the language to spanish when it verbally gives announcements or tests. Highly recommend getting a nest product.

I thought I needed to replace the batteries on my "old" CO monitor and 2 smoke alarms in my kitchen and living room and it turns out they didn't work anymore - how scary! Who knows how long we were unprotected?! I found this combination monitor and am very happy from the moment I turned it on, it tested the CO level in my house which was good because I just changed my furnace due to CO leak. I like the sound of the voice alert. The phone alert set up is easy to do and the ability to turn off the alarm from my phone is user friendly (easy!!). If my kids are home cooking and the alarm gives me a warning, I can call and make sure everything is ok. I have been using my NEST alarm for a month now and very glad I got it. I will be getting more for each room in the house and giving one to my mother, too.

We’ve been using these for over a year now and haven’t had to do anything to them. They test themselves, let you know when it’s going to do a sound check. Heck, even the batteries are the same from when we got them. They have a nice nightlight when you’re sleep walking. And they detect the most imperceptible amount of smoke. Probably the easiest device to setup I’ve ever...setup Highly impressed. Would buy more if I needed to.

I’ve purchased three of these smoke detectors and they are great they are easy to sync and easy to manage. It keeps me posted at home or not at home. It automatically does monthly checked.Also the night lamp is awesome.

This is my 3rd Nest Protect. Eventually will replace all my smoke detectors in my home with these. They tend to be expensive, however I will spent more for piece of mind for two stories that sealed the deal for me. 1st Story: Woman's nest protect went off right after she left for work, turned around once she got the notification and got there in time to save more damage from occuring to her home, should she not have been notified until the FD called her. 2nd Story: Someone asked "what good is a smoke/CO2 detetcor sounding an alarm, should no one be there to hear it?" Sure, it may wake you up in the middle of the night, but can you hear it from your office during the day? That kind of alert could be the difference between a total home loss and just a kitchen remodel.

After installing three of these detectors in my house I noticed I could use one more. It installed very easily. I didn’t even need to put in my wifi password as the other detectors communicated the password with it. I really like that these detectors communicate with each other. If smoke is detected in one part of the house, the other detectors tell you in English which detector has noticed the problem. Plus they don’t even need wifi to communicate with each other. If the wifi goes out they still are operative.

The nest protect is an excellent device. Setup was a breeze. Great upgrade compared to regular fire alarms, especially with the carbon monoxide detection. Also the device lights up at night as you pass under it which is nice.

This was very easy to setup. Like that it uses the same app as my nest thermostat. I also like that you can have the thermostat shut off the furnace if smoke or carbon monoxide is detected.
