Purchased one to give it a try, then bought a second for the upstairs. Very easy to set up, and I like knowing we can remotely monitor with pets at home. The nightlight feature is useful. No guests yet since install, but I'm sure they will appreciate it for bathroom trips in the middle of the night. Nightlight output is adjustable. Pricey but I believe they are worth it.

Great device. Easy to install once you have the app and become familiar with it. I love the peace of mind that comes from receiving alerts on my smart device if the alarm is activated! I also appreciate the nightlight that turns on with motion in the bedroom.

I had old, nonfunctioning alarms in the house I bought. I replaced all of them with Google's Nest Protect. Works great. Easy to install. Note that they dont show up in Google Home but you can see in the Nest App. I just got started in smart home tech and plan to move to Home Assistant. I hope they work there but if they don't, i dont see this as changing my mind. Alarm is loud, different for the two detections. Will perform regular checks and inform you of issues. You can also set it to pre-alarm you so you can take action before any major issue.

This is certainly the next generation in Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detectors. Not only does it provide extra information by speaking alerts, it also can provide a night light function as you pass nearby, which is a nice feature. Setup couldn’t have been easier. Smoke and CO Detectors have a limited life, so I would highly recommend getting this unit which lasts 10 years according to Nest.

I think this product sells itself. It stays connected. Let's you know if the battery is low, communicates with each smoke detector, lets you (wherever you are) and people in the house know when there is an issue. I have 3 deployed in my home. One on each level of the house. I can sleep quieter knowing my family is safer if there is a fire or a carbon monoxide issue.

I installed the Nest Protect in about 20 minutes total from setup via my iPhone to actually screwing it into the ceiling. Very intuitive and so far has had not a single issue. I love the "nightly promise" where it glows green every time I turn out my son's light when putting him to bed. Give peace of mind. Having it check itself daily (not out loud) and display a list of checks on my iPhone via the app is a huge plus too.

The move from my old smoke and carbon monoxide alarms to this system was like moving from a Model T to a Tesla. This does so much more for you than the old systems and they're more attractive too. They even gave us night lights that turn on and off by themselves when someone walks by at night (if you set it up that way). It's easy to use and cool, too.

We have had no alarms so no real test but when you push it to test, it works great. It says where the test is coming from and the others all go off in unison. I hope it works when needed as it was a fairly easy install and looks good. We turned off the night light feature so the battery may last longer too.

Wanted a smart device to alert us if there was a fire at our home while we were away. Son referred us to this product and we love it. Easy install and setup. Bonus perk is the night light feature. Now we feel safe if we go to the beach for the day and leave our puppy at home!

I have had this smoke detector for a little while now and have had no problems with it. Using the Nest app on my phone lets me see when tests have been performed and view the status of my home while I'm away. The detector also lights up at night to provide some dim lighting to navigate without having to turn on the lights in the house. Overall, I'm very happy and will buy a couple more.

The user experience with every Nest product I've ever owned has been second to none. The entire experience all the way from opening up the box to pulling the device out to the actual install process is so user focused, and you can tell that the designer is in the company bought out each tiny detail and how it would affect the user. It's honestly hard to explain until you pull one out of the box yourself, but when you do you'll understand what I mean. The experience of opening and installing one of these products is so streamlined and so well presented, that you can almost imagine the designers standing next to you probably watching you go through the experience. Just wish it was thinner

Hands down the best smoke alarm (and CO2) you can buy at the consumer level. If you can afford the premium price, choose these. They are smart, connect to the Nest app, test themselves multiple ways, have a two-stage alert system, and interconnect with each other. I've already had them go off in response to kitchen smoke. They give you a heads up with voice and tones before the full alarm goes off. If it does, they set off all of your Nest Protects in the house with a loud siren and voice saying the room that the fire is taking place in. This interconnect feature is invaluable especially in larger homes. I'm not sure it's worth buying just one. If your home warrants two or more, you will benefit from all of the features. Highly recommend these. I won't go back to a traditional smoke alarm again. FYI - I use the battery operated model and the batteries have lasted 9 months now. No indication they are running low.

The nest protect looks great and works great. Best to replace all at the same time since older hardwired smoke detectors work together and replacing one at a time would actually be a safety issue since you want them all working together. In other words, when one goes off you want the other to go off too so you can hear it/them.

Purchased this product using a Best Buy reward. I needed a carbon monoxide detector and read quite a few reviews about the Nest generation 2. Install was very easy! Connected to my phone and app right away. I really like the self checks it performs and updates it sends to my phone. Will be buying more so they can connect to each other and have the full house protected.

The smoke & carbon monoxide detection is the main reason for the purchase but the looks and other features are definitely a +, love the fact we can get alerts even if we aren't home. Setup is quick and easy. It's pricey compared to other brands but the reviews are best out there. Haven't had a reason to prove itself but hope it never has to.

I had to replace the Co2 detector at home and since I already have nest devices I added this to my environment. out of the box experience it's great adding it to my Nest/Google Home was easy and having all the installation hardware included made everything easy. A little pricey but worth it.

If you read the instructions First, the connection to WiFi is much easier. The installation is a breeze. They look much more high tech and modern which even looks nicer in a 60 year old home that most products of their type. The monitoring from smart phone is a nice plus. Linked with the thermostat that turns off furnace if carbon monoxide is detected is a nice function.

Pretty straight forward, have a NEST thermostat and this integrates perfectly into the system. This version is much better than the last and installation was a snap. Wish my house was wired, but the batteries seem to work fine. Adds a level of comfort and security to your home. I'm hopeful NEST utilizes the sensors in all of their products for future home security features.

Bought this because I have two dogs at home alone and I loved the idea of the wifi. It warns you before it goes off and allows you to silence it from your phone instead of waving a newspaper in front of it to make it stop beeping like the average smoke detector. I also like that is has a night light to light your way in the dark. Best part is that it lasts 10 years!

Easy to use and set up. Gives piece of mind when away from home knowing you will get an alert on your phone if there is danger. The nightlight pathway light is an added bonus that is great to guide you in the dark if there is a power outage or if you need a little light in the middle of the night to get to the restroom.
