Not much to say about it this. It works! It connects easily and helps keep the downstairs at a comfortable temperature when we are using it. Google could do better with customization of schedules. You can only use 4 different time periods, which it supper lane for a tech company. I mean come on, do better!

Easy to install. Taking a star off as it doesn't give back Humidity details like the Nest thermostat. Also the fact that the sensor does not talk to the sensor within the thermostat to come up with an optimal run time. So far what I have found is that it blindly follows a hard schedule that we fix. e.g. 9 PM onwards follow this Nest sensor and after 7 AM follow the thermostat sensor. It doesn't care if the location near thermostat gets over heated while trying to satisfy the target for the sensor. So, hypothetically (do not try this), if you keep the sensor inside a refrigerator, the heater will run for ever and not apply the AI intelligence to stop it as the other parts of the house are getting warmer :(

I bought a Google - Nest Learning Thermostat - 3rd Generation - for my main floor and loved it so I bought another one and this time I also bought the Google - Nest Temperature Sensor because I have a basement with a walk out area that I rent out a portion of. I knew it was hotter in the walk out part because it is not underground. What I didn't realize was the huge temperature difference. Using these tools, I was able to see the actual temperature difference and it was 12 degrees on average! I had to make some changes and add venting to even it out and now I can monitor the downstairs from my phone!

It was easy to pair with. our 3rd generation nest. I have noticed our bedroom (where we placed the sensor) actually feels like the temperature we set the nest at.

Not as good as TRUE zoning, but MUCH, MUCH cheaper. My AZ family room was always 4-6 degrees higher than rest of house. Not comfortable for family gatherings around the TV/game system. Combined with the Nest thermostat, this allowed us to read the temperature in this room and use it to trigger the AC. It works! The room is constantly in line with my temperature setting. Yes, other rooms are cooler - but you can reduce the difference by partially closing the vents in the other rooms.

We have a new 2 stage HVAC system, complete with new ventilation/ducts. The system isn't balanced very well, and the master bedroom gets too much heat. I put this in the master bedroom near the bed, and set the Nest to switch to it at night. Now we don't waste extra heat in the rest of the house, and the bedroom stays comfy. If you want to balance multiple rooms and have not purchased a Nest thermostat yet, I would checkout other brands like Ecobee or Honeywell. This works great if you're only worried about one space at a time and already invested in Nest.

Love these. Work great for houses with cold rooms. Can fully control temps and schedules.

This made my mind be at ease. My wife and I have a baby and we wanted to make sure that the temperature in his room was comfortable for him. This product allowed for him to have a good nights rest every night.

These sensors have been invaluable in helping to monitor and regulate the temperature in my baby's nursery. A bit pricey in my opinion, but essential for larger homes where the bedroom temperatures may vary from the temperature at the thermostat.

This sensor works great. Pairs with the Nest effortlessly. Interesting to see the variation of temps in the house and helps to balance it.

This is a great little add on device for nest thermostats. This allows you to see and control the temperature in other rooms than the one that the nest thermostat is in. For example my thermostat is in the guest bedroom and controls the heat for the guest room and my office. By adding this sensor the thermostat gets controlled by the temperature in my office and not the location of the thermostat. All controlled by the nest app making it easy to switch between the sensor and thermostat if I want the room with the nest to control the temp.

Often, there is a 2 degree temperature difference in our home between the main living area, where the Nest is located and our back primary bedroom. Consequently, we added this temperature sensor and then use the Nest app to control the AC/Heat based on the temperature in our primary bedroom. Moreover, we can pick the time periods so that the Nest uses the temperature sensor overnight and early morning when we're sleeping and then use the main Nest temperature during the day and early evening when we are not spending time in the primary bedroom.

After having purchased the Nest thermostat, I still felt like we were missing some needed functionality to take full advantage of the "smart" in the smart thermostat. A year+ later, I can attest that these are a must buy for any Nest thermostat purchase. Our thermostat runs much more efficiently in our tri-level home, automatically switching between sensors throughout the day to ensure we are not wasting any energy to heat/cool rooms we don't care about.

Super simple to setup and its simple to use as well

We have an upstairs bedroom that gets hotter than the rest of the house in the summer and really needed it to cool off. This works great after you get it setup

These work great with the nest thermostat. Gives temp for different rooms and allow for the system to run until specific rooms reach temp. Work well. Easy setup.

This product works like it says it does, but it could use further revision or integration with other products. Sure, you can see the different temperatures in different rooms, but you can't control those rooms specifically without closing the vents yourself physically. That isn't a big deal, but the point of these products in general is to do automate and allow you to do things from great distances. As such, there really isn't much of a practical purpose to this. You have to be in the building to actually change the set up of the cooling/heating, so why not just use a standard thermometer that is 1/100th the price of these? I managed to get these on a steep sale and they are a luxury. Not necessary, money saving, etc. as some of the other nest products. These should be the very last thing you buy in a smart home.

Does what it's supposed to. Monitors the temperature downstairs because the thermostat is upstairs. I set a schedule in the nest app for this thermostat to use the downstairs temperature where I am most of the time during the day. Works like it's supposed to

Easy to set up and link, installs with a single screw on the wall that doesn't require an anchor, works seamlessly. Great for my two story house with only one HVAC system.
