I purchased this for my parents, and it has been fantastic for them. The camera is wonderful, and they get to see the full image of the person at the doorbell and not the fisheye looking image.

This review is for the battery-operated product. I purchased this item for its simplicity and partly because I also have a Google Nest outdoor camera so I can have the same subscription for all my cameras. I really like this product as the installation/setup guide is very intuitive. As soon as you scan the barcode for the setup process, it will guide you throughout the process. The video and recorded events are very clear, and the sound quality is just right. Pretty much similar to the outdoor cameras except that as an event happens, it automatically keeps track in the history so you really need to do a lot of video scrubbing. One of the big discovery I found with this is the facial recognition is very good. My wife went out with a sweater hoodie as it was cold and still recognized her face in the history. The battery charge seem to hold well. I was under the impression I will have to recharge frequently since I keep on viewing the history but I found out that it is holding out well. One suggestion I would recommend is that if you also have other Google/Nest cameras to switch to Nest Aware plus as it's a big benefit and you can save more money from the subscription.

It is a very nice "gadget" to have at home. It shows who's coming to the door in a very clear and timely fashion. Notifications are clear. So far hasn't given us any problem. Easy to install (we hired a company who did it for us), compatible with our existing chime bell. Highly recommended!

I admit I was alittle hesitant about the 2 month battery life, but at the rate is going it's going to be maybe 3 months before a recharge! Quality is amazing, identifying individuals and packages is spot on and very quick to alert me! Install was tricky at first but figure it out and you can make it work almost anywhere!

Great video quality however the chime function DOES NOT WORK - you hear it outside but never inside! Had I known that before I would not have purchased this doorbell. The only time visitors are announced is if you have the live video feed on which DRAINS the battery quick. Gave 1 star for sound quality regarding the chime and not overall video sound. Extremely disappointed

Great image quality, easy to install. Works well with Google home. The only downside might be the length of battery use. But there is an option to purchase a hard wired doorbell instead to avoid this.

The Nest device is easy to install. The battery lasts a very long time before we need to recharge it. The App UI is nice and easy to understand. You get notifications for activity near your door. It's definitely worth setting up specific activity zones so that you don't get notifications for busy travel areas that don't require your attention. The only negative is that to get the most out of it, it requires a subscription.

It was very easy to install. We love the notifications. Currently is battery operated only wanted to attach the chime originally installed in the house but haven’t successful. I was able to set up notifications through our phones and the Amazon echo show. In general we are satisfied with this product.

Compared to our last doorcam this was much higher in quality. My only biggest complaint is that it requires itself to be wired in to make use of door chimes. You can circumvent this by using a nest hub and having the assistant chime for you, but it'd still be nice to just have a general chime option.

Overall, I like the doorbell. It does have a few issues recognizing my face and my husband's. Part of that could be the angle that it sits at. It comes with a door wedge, but it's not enough for this location. I don't fault the doorbell for that. I'll probably end up 3D printing a larger wedge. I can check in anytime, anywhere, even if my husband is viewing it live too. That's a major reason I went with Nest over Blink. I have 2 Nest Hubs and when the doorbell rings, the video shows up on both of my TVs and both hubs... or at least it's supposed to. It works well for the hubs, but it's not working on the TVs. It disturbs my video, but then shows a broken camera symbol. Otherwise, I really like the doorbell. It gives me peace of mind when I'm away from home. I like being able to check in from anywhere, even if it's already being live viewed. The chime that comes through my nest devices is nice and soft and can be changed as easily. Also, my dogs haven't caught on yet. They absolutely will not shut up if a normal doorbell is rung (even on TV) or when someone knocks. It's so nice to have the doorbell announcement, check that my delivery driver is gone, and then calmly walk to the door without chaos. The 2 way talk is great, especially compared to other cameras I've used. The good definitely outweighs the bad for me. My issues may not be issues at all for other people. I highly recommend this doorbell.

Great option for our house since the walls are brick inside and out. Video is good, connection is good over fiber. Bettery life is pretty decent. We get about 4 weeks out of ours depending on how many visitors we get. Only issue is the first one we purchased only lasted 2 years. Yes it's outside but it is under a covered porch. I would expect a bit mroe life.

This is my first video doorbell and my only nest product currently. So far the device has been working great for me and consistently giving me alerts, usually within 3-5 seconds of the event. Being able to setup the device without wires was great for my use case. The initial set up was overall easy tho I did have some issues with the first try where it disconnected during an update and prevented me from completing setup, so I had to factory reset and start from scratch. The device itself was larger than I had expected, likely due to the battery in it, but the quality is great and video is clear.

So far so good. The video quality is good, the notification speed is good, but the battery life is questionable. There are settings to help w/ battery longevity but so far Ive only managed to get 3 weeks before I have to recharge. That is a far cry from what is promoted. Now I do live on a street w/ a lot of foot traffic so that certainly contributed to the hit on the battery. I’ve adjusted my zones and will see how that improves the battery. This is a new product from Google so I’m sure software updates will be sent out possibly to help w/ the batter. TBD.

Exactly what I wanted, however the battery life is shorter than expected. Interfaces very well with Google Home. I can see the door area remotely using smartphone App. Automatically saves the past three hours of events. You can also externally save the events. Installation is easy, but you need extra hardware to really secure it on the door frame.

Overall, the Google Nest Wi-Fi Video Doorbell is a solid product with great video quality and reliable alerts. However, when charging, be careful—the lens is prone to scratches and smudges, which can reduce visibility. A gentle touch is definitely needed! The main downside is that the Google Home app feels sluggish at times, causing delays in notifications or video playback. Once everything is up and running, it works well, but the app experience could definitely use some optimization. Still, it's a good choice if you’re looking for a sleek, battery-operated doorbell.

I recently purchased the Nest Doorbell for security reasons. My wife and I love in the country and it's nice to be able to see who, if anyone, walks by our cars, our shed, or comes to the door. I went with the Nest above others after doing some research and finding that it actually has a rolling 3 hour record time for free. Others, you have to pay for a subscription to be able to save any footage. It's very sensitive on it's pick up and will tell you if a person has been at your door and even if that person is carrying a package. It sends a notification directly to your phone, with a short video clip of the person. One of the best parts, it's easy to setup and install. I recommend the Nest over others like it, for it's price and features.

The device is great. Stylish and robust, it's a good design. A couple of things I didn't like: The viewing angle is limited, with the vertical view being greater than the horizontal view. Here, the Ring doorbell wins, it’s has a longer range. I would have preferred the device to be operated from the Nest app, as the Google home app is very cluttered. The battery lasted me about a month. Recharging it took over 3 hours. The other problem is that the notifications on the Apple Watch does not work as it should. It tries to show a picture, but you don't see anything, in contrast with the Nest or Ring notifications. In conclusion, I liked the doorbell because it is easy to install, does not need wires and does its job. I don't like the app, but I'm hopeful that Google will fix those issues in the future.

I bought this because I could add it to my Google Hub. It does its job- acceptable battery life, good video and sound quality- but I’m still disappointed. The camera doesn’t always capture motions from animals at night. I’ve tried fixing the settings to increase sensitivity and followed the troubleshooting advice from Google. Searched Reddit for any nerd advice too (I appreciate you, people of Reddit), and nothing I’ve done has fixed that issue. I’m convinced the issue stems from the hardware. So if you’re wanting to keep an eye on your pets at night or see the wildlife that visits your property, this isn’t the product for you. I was expecting more from a Google product.

This camera has fantastic quality, as to all of the Google cameras that we have experienced. This has massively easy installation, what I consider to be quite a good battery life, a wide range of view, excellent video quality, and great features. Everyone that I have shown this camera too compliments the quality of the footage and how clear it is and the wide range of view. Plus it integrates seamlessly with all of our other Google home devices which we love.
