    Excellent tablet

I'm a bit of a gear head, so I used my original Nexus 7 as a car tablet, replacing a dedicated GPS unit and adding lots of other functionality - the ability to connect via bluetooth OBDII connector and monitor things that there is no dash display for (turbo boost, temps, etc.) Sadly, I left that Tablet attached to my windshield in the sun too often and the screen pretty much bleached out. So I replaced it with the new Nexus 7. It is a great upgrade and at such a compelling price. The screen is stunning and the Android OS a lot of fun to play with now the GPS and screen touch bugs have been fixed. I'm loving it and I also adore my iPhone and my iPad, so don't let the OS put you off!

A step up, but still short

So I had the first gen Nexus 7 and while that was a class all by itself last year, we are spoiled on the power of the 7" tablet and its Tegra 3 chip and really great price. New version nothing short of that, with an even better screen and better materials in my opinion. Camera a great option, although I've never used it (or will I ever.) It is fast, responsive, JellyBean 4.3 is great, and the screen is gorgeous however my only complaint (and reason for negative 2 stars) is the app compatibility. Maybe its still in its early stages, but a few apps I use on the regular, and some major at that (Skype, Neftlix, Engadget, WWE, etc...) are really buggy or plain do not work. The first 2 being major offenders. What good is a great screen and portability when you can't use for video calls or to watch movies? And this maybe a casualty or a fault of all android tablets in particular, but a lot of the apps just look like scaled-up or overblown phone apps, not utilizing the additional real estate. I don't want to compare to iOS, but if its a shortcoming, I'd have to make that point. Hopefully the developers for the apps makes some changes and if so, I will adjust my review and rating accordingly. Also, there are some touch screen glitches and lags that I'm hoping some firmware updates will address. Your move, Google.

I am simply in love with this tablet. Originally purchased to handle just my calendar and e-mail for business and make phone calls using Google Voice. The Google representative assured me it could run two programs side-by-side so I wouldn't have to toggle back and forth, but so far I haven't stumbled on that feature. The only major issue I have, and possibly all thin tablets have this same issue, is that when I hold it without its case, the screen can be unresponsive, similarly to the short created by wrists resting on a laptop surface interfering with the built-in touch pad. Other than that one flaw, the Nexus is quick, pretty, light, and responsive. Oh, I guess there is one more thing. The camera doesn't focus well on close-ups, you might have to fiddle with it.

This is my second 7" tablet and I love it. It does everything I want and more. It's very easy to switch between apps and I love reading on it. I didn't like my old 7" tablet and very rarely used it. So, when shopping around for my next tablet I did a lot more research, compared specs and prices, and figured out what I really wanted in a tablet. The Google Nexus 7 totally fits the bill. I wrote this review on my Nexus and it was easy. ;)

After spending the last few years using a first generation iPad, I finally decided to get a tablet with a smaller size screen and that weighed less. It was a huge jump in terms of performance and our family has pretty much converted to all Android products so we were able to get used to using it right away.

I bought this tablet hearing great things about the original nexus 7 (2012) and i just came into some money and this one just came out. I decided to give it a try and was not disappointed, its fast sleek and great for everyday use. It's my go to device for all my media and email needs, it has replaced my laptop and i constantly find myself playing around on it. For the money and quality of the product it's hard to find a better tablet, and i would and have recommended this tablet to everyone i know who's in the market for one.

I'm an IOS user - had an iPad from day one. I bought this just to play with Android. Wow, was I pleasantly surprised. The display is fabulous and it has features the iPad doesn't have like animated backgrounds, Photosphere pictures, widgets on the home screen, and more. I would give it 5 stars except for stability. It's crashed and hung on me a number of times. But I can tolerate that because it's such a fabulous tablet for the money.

I'm not exactly a tech savvy person, in fact part of the reason I convinced my husband to spend the $ on this was b/c I hated dragging out my laptop and going all the way thru the process of checking my email. Ya, I can do it on my phone but its way to small and had a yada I was letting things pile up so far I was missing really important messages. Now I'm up to the moment on emails and getting even better than my husband at tech stuff!! We even switched our phones to the Nexus, which I call my tablets "mini-me"... All in all I love it and would def buy it all over again!! Especially with the sale price I got it at, fantastic deal!!!

This tablet is super smooth. The screen resolution is outstanding. Videos are smooth and the processor is fast. I never get any stuttering or delays when opening a program or switching programs. Some people don't like the lack of an SD slot but there is a program available so you can mount a flash drive to your Nexus and play media off of that drive. It works flawlessly to play music or movies or to transfer files to the tablet. Set up was just logging into your existing Google account and following a few prompts.

I saw a news clip interview of the Asus CEO discussing the new Nexus. He said that Google almost broke him, but he persevered and gave them everything they demanded. So I went to Best Buy, saw the new Nexus, and realized how right this man was. So I traded in my 2012 model. The geek squad walk me through the set up and it was a breeze. I am absolutely thrilled with it! all

I bought the Nexus 7 as a gift for my moms birthday. She absolutely loves it! I have the older version and love mine but after setting up the new one I see that its been improved a lot. The first thing I noticed is that it fits much better in the palm of my hand...slimmer and not as wide. I thought my older version Nexus was snappy but the new one is just seamless. Downloading apps was almost instantaneous. I like that they've added a rear facing camera as well. Maybe I'll have to upgrade sooner than I thought!

Probably the best option for an Android Tablet. Is compact and lightweight, so I can take it anywhere, and hold it with just one hand if I need the other. The 7 inches are perfect if you need a big not-enormous screen, and the images, videos and text look really nice! Is very powerful, responsive to instructions and fast! Battery last the whole day even if I use it intensively. And for the price, is really a great option to choose. If you want an good Android Tablet, I would recommend no other. Great indeed!

I'm an iOS user (iPhone/iPad) and with Macs, Apple TVs and Airport Expresses, I'm too invested into the Apple ecosystem to switch. I don't want to really. But I needed an Android device for work and so I bought the new Nexus 7. After using it for a few weeks now, I have to say that I'm very impressed with it. The display is crisp and sharp (though pictures and videos of people are not great), its very quick, the size is great (will fit in my pockets), and its a great value. Battery life has been very good.

I use my laptop primarily for writing, which I do every day. But more and more I rely on the tablet for short pieces and emails. The swiping action is the best. It was one of the most appealing features. The screen is very sharp. I use it for news, emails (in both English and French), skyping, purchasing, internet searches--everything I do on my laptop. My Kindle is sitting on a shelf, never to be used again now that i have the tablet. And it is much more portable than I expected. It fits neatly in my purse. It's lighter than I thought. Next time I travel, I'll take an external keyboard for my writing and leave the laptop behind.

I originally bought an iPad Mini with Retina Display, but returned it in a week because $400 was just too expensive. I have never owned an Android product before, but after reading many rave reviews of the Nexus 7, I thought I would give it a shot. At $199 I felt very comfortable with the purchase. This product does exactly what I expected, the screen looks great and the battery last a long time. If Android wasn't so buggy and apps didn't crash so much, I would have given it a 5 stars. For $199 you can go wrong though, you can't find a better 7" tablet at that price.

I love that the android ecosystem isn't locked down like apple, and the nexus 7 is by far the best tablet in the market (seriously, google the reviews of the 7 compared to any other tablet). Add the fact that it is super inexpensive and you've got a winner.

If you have an Android phone then you need this tablet. Great little size with a beautiful screen and faster than my iPad 2 with less hassle. No more managing the pictures on this tablet is a breeze compared to uploading and deleting nightmare with iTunes and the cloud. Make the purchase and enjoy yourself!

The Nexus 7 tablet is now perfect. I had a few problems at first and called Best Buy and was given a run around. This is my last purchase from Best Buy.The screen flickered and the device would cut off for no reason.I called Best Buy and was given no advice at all,all the C S rep did was try to sell me a service contract and was given zero advice on how to correct the problem.I have a relative who is a software engineer and she called Google and got advice on how to correct the problem. Now the device works great.Buy the device,it is a fantastic product but I would look for a supplier other than Best Buy
