the nexus player is a great device. Android tv is getting better with time. I like how it shows you stuff it thinks you will be interested in on the main screen. with the mico usb plug, the accessories are endless!

My first experience with Android TV was with the Nexus Player. For the retail price, I would not have bought it. But at the discount price that it goes for now, it is well worth it.

I love this thing, its like a Chormecast 2.0, except it has apps on it. That is also the issue...the apps or lack of. I would say there is all of 3 that I use since most that I want I have to run off my phone like a chromecast.

Love this device. I have an older, non-smart, flat screen and this device turned it in to a smart tv. Access netflix, hulu, and multiple other apps via this device. No monthly fee. All you need is wireless internet service.

Love it works well with Kodi. Main downfall is not enough apps and seems as though there is no more development or very little for porting apps to it. Does get firmware updates overall pretty happy but needs more apps.

Intel 64bit processor, most of app are still 32bit or 64bit with ARM. So app is very limited and even side load to this device is still limited or not 100% working.

I purchased the Nexus player when I saw the price get cut in half I had Been interested previously. But couldn't afford it. I find this is a great streaming device that can also play games halfway decent it's not like the Nvidia shield but it's also less than half the price for my purposes this works well

I bought this when it was on sale for $50 and it is just amazing..It is like a chromecast on steroids..Basically an adroid tv box or like any roku or Apple TV and then doubles as chromecast to stream from your devices to the tv. The unit is very fast and just smooth with operation and menu navigation.

The nexus player is a great device for pretty much anything u would want to use it for! U can download all kinds of cool apps from the Google store and games also!! The only thing I didn't like about it is there's no where for an sd card or a plug in for Ethernet!! Other than that it's pretty rad....

this box was bought (on sale) to compliment my Apple TV since we recently cut the cord. so far it has been a quality compliment. it is easy to connect, easy to use (learn how to use) and has worked as expected.

All I can say is pick one of these up! Was so nice I bought 2 of them. It has google play store and is running lollipop. Only negative is it is only wifi. You can buy a adapter if you want to hook it up by ethernet. It should just have a port though. Also it will be getting Android M soon which is a plus.

So Google is entering the streaming desktop box market and, while it totally doesn't fail the lack of dedicated apps on the device itself makes this box not worth the price. You get your standard Netflix, Hulu and the Google play services but as of now no Crackle, Flixster, Crunchyroll, Vimeo and etc. This device really depends on you having either a secondary android device or "casting" from a Google chrome browser to make up for the lack of expansive streaming services . Which really sucks since I bought this device to be a stand alone player and to replace my Chromecast. It does have the ability to download and play dedicated games, like the Ouya, and I'm sure the optional game controller makes it a better value proposition. It's also very fast to start up and almost no lag when browsing. The remote it comes with is Bluetooth so you candy hide the player behind your TV or wherever your heart desires and not have fiddle with getting a clear line of sight. The voice command function is also excellent and makes it easier to search for content. As of now though if you're looking for a dedicated device to watch or listen to various streaming services and maybe discover new ones a Roku would b a better purchase, especially since the new models support voice search same as this box. Unless you're deeply in the Google/Android eco system by purchasing movies and TV shows through its Play services, skip this over the price and get a cheaper Chromecast.

I came into the store looking for the product and it was not on display, but the associate ordered it for me from the website. I got it later the next week. It took me less than five minutes to set up. I downloaded the apps I wanted to add and was watching Netflix all night. I am pleased.

I am so impressed with the device capabilities. I ended up ditching my Chromecast for the Nexus. I love the fact that you can connect a wireless (bluetooth) gamepad to play several of the Droid games in the Google Play Store. Now, you can add Kodi which will make this worth 4x its value.

I intend to return this product. Compared to other options, there aren't enough features to justify the price tag, even if you do snag it at $50. The lack of app support was a huge drawback - this does not support HBO GO/NOW, Amazon Instant Video, etc. Also, another turnoff was the fact that the voice feature did not integrate with the apps - so there is no ability to pull up a show from Netflix. I would stay away until more applications are supported.

I am a big google user and have a nice collection of movies on Google play store. I love this player and for only $50 it is a steal. If you are heavily invested in the Google ecosystem I would recommend this product.

Bought this to replace amazon fire TV stick and works really good because of dedicated android tv. Installed kodi and works like a charm.
