Looks good, sounds great
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.FYI there is no headphone jack, just a usb c port at the bottom where it charges and the included Google wired buds go. Sound quality on the headphones is great, although there is a good deal of sound bleed. Also, the headphones are white and can take some time to get used to. It does come with an adapter for a regular headphone jack. I upgraded to this from the Nexus 6P after dealing with the power/battery issues for too long. I got it right before the Pixel 4 came out. The phone is a good size and looks great. Battery life is still great over a year later. The option to squeeze the phone for quick access to ok google is pretty great. Camera, both front and back are good. Sound quality is loud and clear. Has fingerprint scanner on back, which is the perfect place imo. Screen size is great. The notch is a bit obnoxious, but there's a way to kinda hide it in developer options. It was a great value for me because I only paid half price for it, although I would have purchased it also at full price. If you're used to a reg iphone or pixel 3, this might be too big for you.

Lots It Can Do - Still Learning
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went from Samsung to Pixel platform pretty easily. The operations are fairly similar so not to hard to figure out the basics. Free app moved all my data (texts also) to my new phone and the BB staff helped me out with that part. It took about 4 hours but I needed some critical info and it was one of my biggest concerns. The phone itself is very fast changing between functions and battery life is pretty good (average user 4-6 hours of internet and apps). The camera is it's the strong point - I'm most likely not use it to it's fullest abilities, but purchased it for taking construction site photos. I have yet to experiment with the 360 photo feature, I think it will be helpful w/ for before & after photos. - One thing I do wish is it had a removable memory card, I am not a big cloud storage user. And its going to take a little time to get use to not being able to use inexpensive earbuds (no 1/8" headphone jack) - In the past my Blu-tooth headset/earpieces get lost/broken or need charging. All together I am satisfied with the phone overall.

Decent Android Phone But Not Worth Buying
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It probably is only worth the price during sales. After all I paid $600 for this (meanwhile you can buy an Oneplus 6T at this price any day). Pixel has the quickest update, no doubt about it. Best single camera set up (but most others have 2 now). The advantages pretty much stopped here. If you value these heavily, go get one now and you will be happy. Now the BAD: The form factor is atrocious and Google doesn't even bother providing a legit notch hide option. LG with Oreo has a better solution! No headphone jack. The new Pixel launcher with Pie Gesture is some hot trash, I will put it this way. Pixel 2 allows you to go back to classic, no more on the 3. I use Nova anyways but be aware. 4GB RAM? Not sure if it can last you 2yr+ Most of all, I absolutely have no idea why I can only get 4hr SOT, my old Pixel 2 XL does better than that. Bummer. I wouldn't recommend buying this any time soon. $499 is where it should stay.

Good, but frustrating phone
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good Android phone, but missing some things I had gotten used to. No headphone jack or expandable storage, but I knew that going in. I also dislike that I can only screencast with a Chromecast and not Roku at least. This is the biggest thing I've lost. My previous Android phones have let me cast to Roku, so it was disappointing to discover I could not.

10/10 Software; 8/10 Hardware.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would give a 4.5/5 since this phone isn't perfect. But it's pretty close. I'll round up since I'm sure people will be leaving bad reviews because of the notch. It's understandable to not like the notch. I get it. I'm not a huge fan of the notch. But you can easily hide it if it really bothers you. Go with the XL if you want a bigger screen, higher screen pixel density, and a Samsung panel. Go with the regular 3 if you want no notch, and a smaller body. Otherwise they're practically the same phone. The battery size difference ends up evening itself out. So either phone will have similar battery life. The hardware isn't perfect, but it's not bad. Google handles the 4 gigs of RAM fine. I wish it had a headphone jack and expandable storage but that is a complaint on a lot of phones in 2018. It doesn't have the best hardware on the market, but that's not why I gave it 5 stars. The software is incredible. Stock Android, amazing camera and camera features, assistant call screening, etc. This phone has some serious software inside of it.

My Favorite Phone Ever - My First Google Pixel!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first Google Pixel phone (my 4th smartphone), and I'm so impressed by it that I'm in love! So far it has to be my favorite phone I've ever had. However, it was the most expensive phone I've ever purchased, which I normally wouldn’t pay so much (my Samsung S7 was my second and the Motorola Moto X 2nd Gen Designed by You being my first smartphone/the cheapest that I had only paid $31 total; 1 cent for the phone, $30 to upgrade plus tax). Speaking of price, that's the one thing that was stopping me from buying the Pixel 3/3XL was the price tag, which is unnecessary no matter which version, to be honest. Other than that, I'm so happy with my purchase and I certainly recommend it! I've always had either a Samsung or a Motorola phone - whichever was the cheapest (between 2 flip phones and 3 smartphones over the years with those brands), but this time I decided to splurge and get the Pixel phone because I heard so many great things about it. I'm so glad I made the change! I switched from the Samsung Galaxy S7 (my first Samsung smartphone - in general, my 3rd smartphone). It was time for a new phone, considering the Samsung phone is still in wonderful condition, inside and out, it's just the battery wasn't holding its own anymore and I was constantly charging it between 2 to 4 times a day depending on what I was using it for/how long and always carrying a charger everywhere I'd go. I was so over it. When I was shopping for phones, I was comparing/debating between the new Pixel 3/3XL and the new Samsung 9 Note or even waiting until 2019 for the newest Samsung folding phone, but I always went back to the Pixel (as I desperately needed a new phone; replacing a 3-year-old phone), so I couldn't wait any longer. Between both phones, they both have their pros and cons (no phone is perfect, though if only to combine those 2 together it would be close to perfect), but again, I went back to the Pixel. I love that the Pixel has a lot to offer, and Samsung too (one of the reasons why I hate Apple products - they don't offer much and they're boring to me for such steep prices, in my opinion), but one of the things that drew me into the Google Pixel was the camera; my goodness does it take amazing photos! I've always wanted a phone that could be almost as good as a digital camera, at least for a phone, and I think the Pixel nailed it for the most part (though I'm big on zooming into long distances, so I wish the zoom lens on any phone for that matter would be better). The screen is huge, which I love. I've never had a big screen before, and now I don't think I could ever go back to a small screen ever again, lol. I think the phone is easy to use when you get the hang on the functions/swiping such as I don't even miss the home button. Login onto your phone with the fingerprint reading is fast, and I use it way more than I did on my Samsung. And also I've never cared for it on my Samsung, but I love using Google Assistant, it's very helpful. And the battery is amazing, for now. Let's see if it holds up over time. Some downfalls (besides the price); that notch is an eyesore and huge. I never liked notches, though they don't bother me much now that I have a phone with one, at the same time, that notch is killing me. There has to be some way to work around it. And I hate that there's no headphone jack. Why remove it?? I love the headphones it comes with, don't get me wrong, but they could have kept the jack because it makes it convenient to have while having a type-c charging port. I’ve had this phone for about a month now and I seriously love it! And I think you will too.

Superb phone, compared to Pixel 2
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The best Google phone as of yet. A little history of prior smart phones - iPhone 5s and 6 (work phones), One plus 5t, Nexus 6p, Pixel 2, 2xl and 3xl. Pros - Camera - just as everyone else has said. Night sight and portriat are stellar. At my last family get together, it was the Pixel everyone wanted to take family pics. That was among iPhone users. 2 - battery life is fantastic. 3 - Buttery smooth OS with all the current updates. This is personally a top issue for me. Google's Android is so clean and efficient, no lag. 4 - free full resolution uploads on Google photos. 64 GB is plenty for me with this feature. I have it set to clear out downloaded pics after 1 month. I have never ran short of space. 5 - stereo front facing speakers. The best I have heard. This is an upgrade from the Pixel 2 and 2xl. They are significantly louder. 6 - screen is beautiful. I think a little better than the 2xl. 7 - the wide angle 2nd selfie camera. This is more handy than I expected. 8 - excellent WiFi and Bluetooth connection. 9 - rapid charging. I have not used wireless. It is not an issue for me with the battery life and rapid charging. 10 - my last kudos is the headphones. I was surprised with how nice they sound. 11 - oops, one more. IP68 water resistant. Cons - 1 - stupid notch. I am use to it, but what a waste of screen space. I don't mind some bezels - the 2xl was just fine. I'll take bezels for a large battery, dual front speakers and a headphone jack. 2 - no headphone jack. 3 - the back of the phone vibrates when played at higher volumes. Should I get this or the 2/2xl. They are very close. The 3xl has better speakers, the second front facing camera, wireless charging, a bit wider screen and the camera is a little better ( I mean little). And there are headphones. These are all minor in my book. Personally, I got it because it was on sale. But I am glad I did. For Apple/iOS folks. If you are considering trying a Andoid phone, this is the one. It is a clean OS without bloatware that other Android phones have. That is something Apple is really good at. Same thing here.

Solid Phone, superb OS
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really enjoy the 3xl. I have had it for 4 months, and it is still crisp and zippy. I am not a games, a little candy crush. I use it for reference searching for work, photography, streaming videos, reading, surfing internet, financial management. The pros 1 - The camera, just like every one else says it's amazing. What I really like is the wide angle selfie. I thought it was kind of a gimmick, but I use it a lot! I could write a book on how amazing it is. The video is good. I am not do much into this, I am a photo guy. 2 - Google Assistant. With the squeeze the sides to laugh the assistant, I use it more and more. And now they're is the Google voice that dictates, it is incredibly accurate. I am a physician, it even transcribes the medical lingo. 3 - The screen quality is superb. Bright and crisp. 4 - OS is buttery smooth and absolutely intuitive. I am amazed how flexible Android is. 5 - Duel front facing speakers are fantastic. 6- finger print reader is fast, accurate and in the perfect place on the back. 7 -all day battery. Cons 1 - the notch is stupid. I'm use to it, but still stupid. I rather have bezels. Personally I though the 2xl was just right. It's not a show stopper. 2 - no head phone jack - just a stupid trend. I bought my phone from Google. I have had no issues, it works just fine. The only improvement aside fixing the cons - they have night sight, they should make a slim sight - you know, makes me look skinny.
