My Favorite Phone Ever - My First Google Pixel!!

This is my first Google Pixel phone (my 4th smartphone), and I'm so impressed by it that I'm in love! So far it has to be my favorite phone I've ever had. However, it was the most expensive phone I've ever purchased, which I normally wouldn’t pay so much (my Samsung S7 was my second and the Motorola Moto X 2nd Gen Designed by You being my first smartphone/the cheapest that I had only paid $31 total; 1 cent for the phone, $30 to upgrade plus tax). Speaking of price, that's the one thing that was stopping me from buying the Pixel 3/3XL was the price tag, which is unnecessary no matter which version, to be honest. Other than that, I'm so happy with my purchase and I certainly recommend it! I've always had either a Samsung or a Motorola phone - whichever was the cheapest (between 2 flip phones and 3 smartphones over the years with those brands), but this time I decided to splurge and get the Pixel phone because I heard so many great things about it. I'm so glad I made the change! I switched from the Samsung Galaxy S7 (my first Samsung smartphone - in general, my 3rd smartphone). It was time for a new phone, considering the Samsung phone is still in wonderful condition, inside and out, it's just the battery wasn't holding its own anymore and I was constantly charging it between 2 to 4 times a day depending on what I was using it for/how long and always carrying a charger everywhere I'd go. I was so over it. When I was shopping for phones, I was comparing/debating between the new Pixel 3/3XL and the new Samsung 9 Note or even waiting until 2019 for the newest Samsung folding phone, but I always went back to the Pixel (as I desperately needed a new phone; replacing a 3-year-old phone), so I couldn't wait any longer. Between both phones, they both have their pros and cons (no phone is perfect, though if only to combine those 2 together it would be close to perfect), but again, I went back to the Pixel. I love that the Pixel has a lot to offer, and Samsung too (one of the reasons why I hate Apple products - they don't offer much and they're boring to me for such steep prices, in my opinion), but one of the things that drew me into the Google Pixel was the camera; my goodness does it take amazing photos! I've always wanted a phone that could be almost as good as a digital camera, at least for a phone, and I think the Pixel nailed it for the most part (though I'm big on zooming into long distances, so I wish the zoom lens on any phone for that matter would be better). The screen is huge, which I love. I've never had a big screen before, and now I don't think I could ever go back to a small screen ever again, lol. I think the phone is easy to use when you get the hang on the functions/swiping such as I don't even miss the home button. Login onto your phone with the fingerprint reading is fast, and I use it way more than I did on my Samsung. And also I've never cared for it on my Samsung, but I love using Google Assistant, it's very helpful. And the battery is amazing, for now. Let's see if it holds up over time. Some downfalls (besides the price); that notch is an eyesore and huge. I never liked notches, though they don't bother me much now that I have a phone with one, at the same time, that notch is killing me. There has to be some way to work around it. And I hate that there's no headphone jack. Why remove it?? I love the headphones it comes with, don't get me wrong, but they could have kept the jack because it makes it convenient to have while having a type-c charging port. I’ve had this phone for about a month now and I seriously love it! And I think you will too.

I was a Samsung fan person for many years always getting the Note line of phones... until I got the Note 7 which was the best phone i ever owned... until it got recalled(potential to catch fire)... so I switched over to the original Google Pixel XL two years ago thinking I would jump on the Note 8 when it came out... but no, the original Google Pixel XL worked flawless and fast and never bogged down and no bloatware just pure Android and Google updates always fast and timely. Now two years later I was sitting at Best Buy the sales person had the Note 9 in front of me writing up the paperwork and I took one look back at the Pixel 3 XL and told him to stop and let me get the Pixel 3 XL I am not sure why I can't put my finger on it exactly the Note 9 is an awesome phone and after my Note 7 I though I would miss the pen that comes with the Note line but I did not... The notch on the Pixel 3 XL is not that bad once you have it a week or two as a matter of fact I have shown people my phone and if I don't mention the notch they don't notice it... but the phone is just awesome, fast, unlimited cloud for Pictures and Videos, the best camera of all the 2018 flagship phones and not one ounce of bloatware on it and some of the Google extras like Screen Calls, Google Assistant and the use of the Pixel Stand ... I hate when I have apps on my phones that I will never use and I can't delete them it is like having SiriusXM on your car you keep seeing the icon and you don't use it drives me nuts but that is just me! With the deal I got from Best Buy plus it came with the Pixel stand(79.00 dollar value) it was a no brainier and a decision that I don't regret staying with the Google line of Pixel phones.

Let me say that I've had a Samsung since the first Galaxy phone released and figured I'd never look back. I upgraded from the Galaxy Note 4, after owning since launch date and swore I'd keep that phone until it literally stopped working. I didn't want to let go of the removable battery, IR blaster and microSD card. I almost bought the new S10+ or Note 9, however the early reviews of the S10 said that the picture quality still wasn't beating the Pixel, even with all of the cameras. If you are a camera junkie, this phone not disappoint. The night side mode takes stunning pictures that you'd need a DSLR on a tripod to take otherwise. I average about two days on a charge and. The notch does not bug me, in fact I didn't even notice it after 20 minutes of use. I find zero limitation with the 4gb of RAM, however I am not a power user. The headphones that come with this phone rank up with my Bose in ear headphones. Also, the data transfer cable was legit, it moved about 60gb of data from my Note within 13 minutes. Lastly, I love the Android UI on this and the Google photos. Very happy! I'll upload two unedited photos I've taken.

I really enjoy the 3xl. I have had it for 4 months, and it is still crisp and zippy. I am not a games, a little candy crush. I use it for reference searching for work, photography, streaming videos, reading, surfing internet, financial management. The pros 1 - The camera, just like every one else says it's amazing. What I really like is the wide angle selfie. I thought it was kind of a gimmick, but I use it a lot! I could write a book on how amazing it is. The video is good. I am not do much into this, I am a photo guy. 2 - Google Assistant. With the squeeze the sides to laugh the assistant, I use it more and more. And now they're is the Google voice that dictates, it is incredibly accurate. I am a physician, it even transcribes the medical lingo. 3 - The screen quality is superb. Bright and crisp. 4 - OS is buttery smooth and absolutely intuitive. I am amazed how flexible Android is. 5 - Duel front facing speakers are fantastic. 6- finger print reader is fast, accurate and in the perfect place on the back. 7 -all day battery. Cons 1 - the notch is stupid. I'm use to it, but still stupid. I rather have bezels. Personally I though the 2xl was just right. It's not a show stopper. 2 - no head phone jack - just a stupid trend. I bought my phone from Google. I have had no issues, it works just fine. The only improvement aside fixing the cons - they have night sight, they should make a slim sight - you know, makes me look skinny.

I would give a 4.5/5 since this phone isn't perfect. But it's pretty close. I'll round up since I'm sure people will be leaving bad reviews because of the notch. It's understandable to not like the notch. I get it. I'm not a huge fan of the notch. But you can easily hide it if it really bothers you. Go with the XL if you want a bigger screen, higher screen pixel density, and a Samsung panel. Go with the regular 3 if you want no notch, and a smaller body. Otherwise they're practically the same phone. The battery size difference ends up evening itself out. So either phone will have similar battery life. The hardware isn't perfect, but it's not bad. Google handles the 4 gigs of RAM fine. I wish it had a headphone jack and expandable storage but that is a complaint on a lot of phones in 2018. It doesn't have the best hardware on the market, but that's not why I gave it 5 stars. The software is incredible. Stock Android, amazing camera and camera features, assistant call screening, etc. This phone has some serious software inside of it.

    Best Phone on the Market

So you have Android people and you have iPhone people. I am a little of both. Used iOS and Android. In our family we have iPhone 7, 8, XS and XR as well as Pixel 3 XL, 2 XL, and an essentials. We also have iPad pro, air 2, and 6th gen. Needless to say we are very diverse and can give an unbiased review. While I would say that the iPhone are the most reliable phones on the market due to their matched and polished OS to the hardware (like a perfect marriage) I feel the Pixel 3 XL is the best phone on the market due to the fact that it is not only Rock solid and reliable but also had an amazing camera, very customizable OS, and a very fast buttery smooth pure Android. The screen is bright, clear, and responsive. The two forward facing speakers sound very crisp and clear, and the fingerprint scanner for id is very fast and accurate. I have zero complianta about the phone itself. Now I will say if you deep into the Apple ecosystem (imessage, FaceTime, airdrop, continuity with other Apple devices) then this may not be for you if you think your going to miss these areas of iOS.

I remember getting the pixel 2 over the note 8 and I was upset. But eventually learned to love it and be happy with it. A couple of weeks ago I ran into the same issue, Note 9 or Pixel 3 XL. I had already said in my head this phone was hideous and there is no reason to get it. But when the moment came idk why the mental debate began. Long story short, Best buy offered big discounts on this phone and so I went for it. Regretted it right away as for some reason I kept running into note 9 adds. When I got the phone I was upset. That hideous notch... That huge chin... Why on Earth did I get this phone... But I'm in love. I don't get why really. The notch is still there and the huge chin but the phones experience is like no other. There is something so free about the pixels. If you're an Android lover I think the pixel is really the best way to experience it. Also I love the screen now. LOVEEEE, LOVEE, LOVEE MY CAMERA. Love how I can work comfortably from my phone. It really is an amazing phone.

I previously had a Nexus 6P, then a Pixel XL, then a Pixel 2 XL. The 3 XL is exactly as expected. Noticeably faster than the 2 in everyday tasks (e.g. navigating my unified email folder that was becoming laggy on the 2). It could be my case, but the phone feels thinner in my hand. The new navigation with the "pill" took me all of 2 days to get used to, so that was fine too. Most importantly, there is no manufacturer bloat and updates come quickly, so it's as secure as an Android phone is going to get, which is my primary reason for buying it. I've read about the excellent low-light pictures, but I haven't had a chance to try it out. I expect that will be a nice plus as well. I will say, the new Note does look nicer lying on a table (I haven't actually used one), so you might want to check that out before committing to this. If you've had a Pixel before, this is probably exactly what you'd expect to get.

This is my first Android phone and I’m very pleased with the switch. The Pixel 3XL actually transferred the majority of my apps so that the switch was fairly seamless. I did have to log into my various accounts, but no big deal. A few of my special apps for photography did require a new subscription. Photo transfer is easy via either my Free Google Drive account on gmail or by enabling the USB for file transfer. Pictures are outstanding unless you try to zoom to max: while the AI delivers a pleasing picture, the details look a bit like a painting (which may be good for some users). Night shots are outstanding, as is the motion mode to let the phone or yourself pick the best shot from a series. I did buy the wireless charging stand which charges the phone very quickly and works like a Google appliance and alarm clock. Goodbye, Apple and Mr. Scott!

This is the best phone I have ever had. The camera is amazing and very clear quality. There is also the night sight, which works wonders. This phone gets all updates immediately because it is by Google. The finger print scanner is in the most convenient spot and makes unlocking it easy. The Google Assistant is the best. I am able to have it answer calls for me if I don't know the number and it also can call restaurants and make reservations for you. Google is always updating and making things better and better with this phone, so you can expect new features in the future. Overall, I will never switch to another phone besides Google. I recommend going to Best Buy for the phone because they set it all up for me and were extremely helpful. Also, they are great at answering any additional questions.

With this phone you get Android (currently 9.0) without any add-on UI elements such as you would get with Samsung. The camera is currently peerless as an overall capability due to quality of images and video, as well as the software intelligence of Motion mode, smile detection, digital zoom on the front facing camera, and more. It, like all modern phones, should be protected by a case. I am using the Google Pixel 3XL factory case and it works great - see my review on the case itself for more details. I purchased it with $150 in incentives which made it a very good deal relative to other options I had at the time - but let's be honest, if you want an unaltered Google experience, this is the only real choice. The camera alone makes it a clear choice over the Pixel 2. Battery life is acceptable; plan on charging mid-day if you are a heavy user.

Fast, incredibly user friendly, and a camera that beats the pants off my iPhone X. This is the only phone I recommend to friends and family looking to go Android, and all I usually have to do is show them a photo taken by it to convince them. Also, Google Assistant is way more helpful than Siri or Bixby (is that still a thing?) and the accessories like the Pixel Stand turn my phone into a mini Google Home when I dock it. Wireless charging is very fast with it as well. I love this phone. I always have at least two phones, but this is the one that is most frequently in my hand.

Awesome phone! I have been an iPhone user since the iPhone 4, but I wanted to try something different. The transition from Apple products to the Google Pixel 3 XL was really simple. The software on the Google phones are really intuitive and so easy to use. I don't regret switching brands at all; I'm very glad I did considering the great deal Best Buy offered on this phone! It was very convenient to order from Best Buy online because the phone shipped very fast, and I was able to activate it myself using Best Buy's instructions (saved me a trip to the store!). I can't recommend this phone enough!

I've had this phone for 2 months now, it's very quick and responsive. I had the original pixel xl and upgraded to the 3 XL. I use it with my connected devices and Google home and I love the convenience it offers. I bundled the pixel stand with a new case and car charger and saved some money. Porting from my old phone to new phone was seamless, I have a lot of work apps that require special security features and they connected without difficulty. All of my Bluetooth devices connected easily as well. I use the phone with a Bluetooth headset working a 10 hour day and have more than 50% battery at the end of the day.

Was worried about hardware not being on par with some of the other major flagships like samsung but I was worried for nothing. The fact that you get a clean stock Android is awesome and makes up for that plus with prioritized updates above other devices, unlimited photo and video at full resolution with best camera and assistant on any Android, there is little room to complain. Screen is great and speakers are loud. Plus the active edge with built in Google assistant is just great!

I WOULD GIVE THIS PHONE A 4.5. MY LAST PHONE WAS A SAMSUNG S7, SO I WAS OVERDUE FOR AN UPGRADE. I BOUGHT THIS PHONE BASED ON ALL THE REVIEWS OF THE CAMERA. IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT IN THAT REGARD. BESIDES THE CAMERA, THE PHONE SUITS MY NEEDS. I AM NOT INTO GAMES OR WATCHING VIDEOS ON MY PHONE, SO I CAN'T SPEAK ON HOW WELL THOSE PLAY OUT ON THE PHONE. I CAN MAKE CALLS, CHECK MY SOCIAL MEDIA SITES, AND TAKE PICTURES. THAT'S WHAT I USE MY PHONE FOR. I DO NOTICE THAT THIS PHONE IS SLIGHTLY SLOWER THAN THE S7 WAS IN LOADING PAGES, BUT IT'S NOT SO MUCH THAT IT'S A DEAL BREAKER.

Wife's original Pixel died. She wanted NOT Pink but they didn't have it in stock at the stores. I ordered it via Best Buy, it came about a week later once the color was available. Transferring her files, pictures, contacts was a synch. Just a couple of clicks and everything transferred from her Google account. Even including her apps that were installed from the original Pixel. The phone itself is very pretty (her words). Phone is fast. Plenty of space (128 GB). She loved her original Pixel. Loves the 3 XL even more. Happy wife. Happy Life. :)

Moved to Pixel 3 XL after a long stint with the Samsung Galaxy. This is a huge improvement over the Galaxy S7. Pages load faster, navigation is quick, multitasking is actually possible! Camera is amazing especially the night shoot option. I don't even notice the notch many people worry about. It is there but never obstructs any phone operations. Only disappointment is the lack of external SD card slot. Would have liked to have the extra storage without the extra cost of buying a larger phone. All aside, definitely glad I moved to this phone.

Had the phone for a week now and it does everything that I need it to do. I wanted a phone that took great pictures, good phone service, light OS, and easy use of Googles services. The battery life last me all day (much better than the old Samsing S6 that I had before this phone). Many have complained about the notch but it hasn't bothered me so far. Maybe I've gotten used to it. My wife waited to see how this phone did before buying her a new phone. After seeing my Pixel 3 XL for a week, she is now going to get one for herself.

I've only had my Pixel 3 XL for a few days now, but I absolutely love it! The battery is forever and charges quickly, the camera is the best you can get on a phone, the screen is brilliant, and the features provided by the Assistant are amazing. My only two issues are the notch, which isn't terrible but I don't like it, and the non-standard USB charging. You'll need an adapter to charge in your car - but since the battery lasts a long time that hasn't been an issue.
