I currently have an iPhone 6S which has been very slow lately, despite clearing up most of the memory and I became frustrated. I really didn't want to spend $750 and up n a new iPhone knowing that newer, faster iPhones will be coming out in October and already make them old. I saw the deal from Best Buy for $399 and a $100 gift card so I thought I would give it a shot. I could use a second phone anyway (I had an extra line on an old phone that was not costing me anything) and figured I would probably get the new iPhone in October.
I am surprised at how good this phone is. It is faster and bigger than my 6S. The camera is much better and the battery is much better. I've compared it to an iPhone 7 and I don't care what the benchmarks say but in normal use of opening apps and surfing the web, the Pixel 3A is faster. I compared it to the XR in the store and found some apps and some surfing work faster on the 3A but games are a bit faster on the XR. Android 9 interface is clean and smooth. If you need to upgrade from an older Android phone and don't want to spend tons of money, it is a no brainer. My problem is that I have an iPad, iWatch and Mac Air and need iMessage and I use Face Time so I really need an iPhone as my primary phone. I know there are work arounds iMessage and Face Time and there are programs that can get your messages and calls on your laptops with android, but when most of the people you know have an iPhone, it is just easier with the iPhone, for example Air Drop. Apple was smart to not share those features and they keep you in their universe. But I would recommend this to anyone who wants and Android Phone.

Owned the pixel 3a for about a week now and it is now one of my favorite phones.
Pros:
It comes with a polycarbonate body, instead of the metal and glass on the Pixel 3 and it feels just as good, but lighter and more robust.
The screen is bright and colorful, giving videos a nice, vibrant look.
The speakers are loud and clear.
The camera is one of the best parts of the phone. Takes pictures like one of the flagships that costs twice as much. Performance is great for a budget phone, only problem is that it doesn't have expandable storage.
64 GB is the maximum that comes with the phone and the OS takes about 14 GB of the storage, which comes around to 50 GB, which is plenty for me. I was looking at the Moto G7, Nokia 7.1 and this phone when I was searching for a new phone to replace my iPhone of 5 years.
Battery life is excellent, it lasts me for a full day in my usage of watching YouTube, web browsing, and playing games.
Call quality is excellent, with the speakers being loud and clear.
You can put the phone onto any cellular service. I have service with Straight Talk and the service is excellent. Also, it comes with Android updates for 3 years and security updates for two years.
Cons:
RAM is only 4 GB, which is enough for me, but if you are a power user, look elsewhere.
Again, storage is limited to 64 GB and it does not come with expandable storage, so if you need more storage, look elsewhere.
If you looking for a phone that offers a combination of performance and price, get this phone, you won't be disappointed.

I upgraded from a Moto G5 Plus, which was a great phone, but it was stuck on Android 8 (Oreo) since Motorola only provides one OS update. So when the Pixel 3a was released with the promise of 3 years of OS and security updates I knew it was my next phone. I use Tmobile and yes the Pixel 3a does support LTE band 71 which is the newest band for rural area coverage. This is unlike the Moto G7, which I considered buying, and it does not include band 71. Nor does the new Nokia 6.2 and 7.2. I don't understand how some new phones in 2019 do not include band 71.
The Pixel 3a camera is outstanding. This is my first phone camera with good low light ability. The battery life is outstanding and easily lasts 2 plus days with my usage of mainly texting, email and some web surfing.
The 3a size is great for me as well. The newest phones are getting very large so this was a bonus as well to be able to comfortably carry the 3a in my pants pocket.
Storage is plenty as well with 64GB and 4GB RAM.
I also picked this phone up on sale during Black Friday so it was a great price at $100 off.
Don't hesitate! Great mid range phone with a lot of flagship specs.

One of the best cheap upgrades I could have gotten after spending 4 long years attached to my old iPhone 5. The increase in camera quality is stunning. I probably take 5x more photos because of it, and all of them turn out great. 10/10 device.
If you are planning to buy one, I have a few words of advice from someone who's learned it the hard way. Get a screen protector!! I have 2 cracks and 1 minor (but annoying) scratch because of my stubborn attitude to go spend 8 bucks on one. and I've heard people who have lots of scratches even though they handled the phone gently. It triggers my OCD all the time, and even if hardly noticable, I just think it's worth buying one.
But in end, this phone is fantastic if you're looking for a great camera, system, and performance. There are little details in the phone that kind of just add a magical feel to it. I'll give one away which is the music sensor. Can be turned on in settings, but essentially it picks up music playing nearby you and tells you the artist and song. The other things are just something you'll have to find out :)
(Added a few pics I took on the device)

I had put off buying a new phone because of the exorbitant prices. Best Buy had a great sale on the Google Pixel 3A and I jumped on it. It's compatible with US Cellular and has proven to be a great phone. Doesn't have all the bloatware that so many of the other ones have. Google keeps it lean and mean. The camera is great. It has a headphone jack, latest system updates, screen resolution is crisp and clear.
Personally, I couldn't justify buying a top of the line Pixel 3. This does everything I need plus has an awesome camera. If you're going to buy a phone and want to stick around the $300 to $400 range, this is the best one out there.

I bought my wife this phone as a replacement for her former top-tiered phone (LG V30+). Specs are good, but I was worried about whether or not it would be a downgrade between her LG V30+ phone and this phone.
It doesn't have as much storage memory and it does not have an SD card memory slot, but nevertheless she still enjoys the phone very much and says the Android operating system that comes with the phone allows her to play the Pokemon app with no issues as compared to her previous phone which would not allow her to use that app for some strange reason. She has been using all of her apps without any issues whatsoever. The phone definitely delivers great performance, and at this special price of $279 you simply cannot find a better deal on a replacement phone or a phone for budget-minded people.
I set the phone up for her quite easily as all you have to do is plug up the cable, which is supplied, between the old phone and the new phone and Android takes care of the rest. You do not have to have anyone from the store set anything up for you. The setup was streamless. Also, since it is an unlocked phone by Google, all of the necessary updates came in back-to-back and back-to-back. Thus making sure the phone's security is up-to-date and that it was successfully upgraded to Android 10 and all of its updates as well.
Picture quality is very good. Screen resolution and colors are very good. Phone is very easy and comfortable to use in your hand. The Android assistant even notified my wife that there was a particular app monitoring the location of the phone and suggested that she turn it off if she desired to do so. Some applications need your location so that really wasn't a worry but it was a pleasure to know that the assistant has the owner's back.
I would say with confidence that for $279 you're not going to find a better deal out there. The phone was manufactured by Qualcomm for Google. Qualcomm has been making chipsets for phones for many years and continues to do so successfully. Many phones out here actually have Qualcomm chips within them. I work in the RF engineering field so I can assure you I know what I'm talkin about, and I can assure you that the phone will not disappoint you. I'm not trying to say that it has all the fancy features of top-tier phones, nor am I trying to say it will outperform them, but what I am trying to say is that at this price point you can't go wrong. The phone was originally selling for $400. Do the math.
Go for it.

I'm gonna start this by saying I'm not following much news on a lot of the new phones coming out, performance of them, etc. but I was eyeing the normal Pixel 3 for awhile and was gonna upgrade to that (my HTC One M8 of 5 years is finally starting to give up), but when Google introduced the lower grade that still keeps the same camera, has a sizable battery, brings back the headphone jack, and all that other stuff, plus the $100 off AND $100 gift card, it would've been dumb not to take advantage of the deal. Got all my old content transferred over in like 6 minutes, and haven't really had an issue with the phone yet. If you're a somewhat casual user of phones, play the occasional game, and just need a new phone, I'd definitely consider the 3a (or the 3a XL if you go big or go home).
The only downside, which is no fault of the phone, is the lack of cases and screen protector availability, but that's to be expected of brand new phones.

Okay first off I have had a ton of experience with the android platform I've been using android phones for about 10 years now and I actually switched from an s8 to the pixel 3a.
Let's start off with what's good with the phone
1. The camera, it's been talked about a ton but with good reason the camera on this phone is simply put fantastic
2. The battery, I have absolutely no problem making it through an entire day which cannot be said with many flagships
3. The display, It gets bright enough to see in direct sunlight and dark enough to not blind you at night and also no notch
4. Headphone jack. Enough said.
5. The performance, while it may not have the top tier snapdragon 855 the phone is still no slouch and in my experience feels just as fast as other flagships if not a bit faster thanks to the uncluttered version of stock Android
6. The software, because this is a pixel phone you get the stock Android experience the way Google intend it to be used
Now into the negatives and if it sounds like I'm nitpicking it's because I am
1. The speakers though they are stereo and sound decent they just don't get loud enough
2. Odd OS decisions, This one is definitely a personal thing but the long swipe from the bottom to reach the app drawer is a hassle but this is an android issue and I only put this on my list because I needed another con
Conclusion, the pixel 3a is an absolutely superb phone for anyone who wants a phone that just makes sense. No pop-up cameras, no weird notches that take out a bite of your videos, no glass back which will break the second you drop it. The pixel 3a in my opinion is the most practical phone that has been released in years and I'm currently recommending it over any of the current flagships

Overall this is the best cellphone I've ever had, purchased it at best buy, but don't know where the receipt is.. anyway, it's camera is so good that it surpasses my camcorder and Sony camera. Even my husband has a Samsung Galaxy S9, which is supposedly better than this phone but I honestly do not believe it. I love the appearance, the weight, and the battery life as well. I can use it just about all day without having to charge it. I definitely recommend this cell phone, and wished I had it before my Mom passed away so I could have gotten better pictures. Anyway I rate this cellphone 5 stars (I also got it when it was on sale for like $217)

My main phone (Essential PH-1) died this past Monday after receiving the monthly Android update. After struggling through the week using an extremely slow backup phone I pulled out of the drawer (Nexus 5), I had to get something new but on a budget. I looked at several budget priced phones (Motorola & Nokia had some decent offerings), but I finally landed on this phone.
So far I am extremely impressed. I bought it on sale for $350 (goes as low as $299 if you activate service, but I'm already with T-Mobile). You get a lot of bang for the buck at that price compared to what the other companies have to offer. Don't get me wrong, if you're used to using a $1,000 Samsung Galaxy flagship this is definitely not the phone for you, but if you're more budget-minded like me this phone has a lot to offer.
First of all you'll get three years of software updates, something that you won't likely find even in the more expensive flagships. You get the same outstanding Google Pixel camera that comes in their more expensive offerings. You get a headphone jackl! Something that is becoming more and more rare and has been left out of more expensive phones. The screen is a nice, bright OLED as well. Something you almost never find in phones for this price.

This phone is probably better than it's big brother for most people since it has better battery life and a headphone jack. The call screening feature is cool and the overall software experience on this phone is really great. It is unbeatable in my opinion for the money.
I'm used to faster high end flagships and do notice a tad bit of stuttering under heavy loads or with a lot of multitasking but for the average user it's probably not even noticeable. Calls are crisp and clear (both on and off of speaker mode). Surprisingly has great bluetooth codecs and the bluetooth audio is really good on this phone.
You probably already know that the camera is fantastic. Video, not so much. Pretty lackluster. But Google's AI makes a really great photo out of pretty basic hardware. The photos are so clean and detailed. Not to mention it has some of the best edge detection on the market for portrait photos to really make things pop.
The size is just right. Comfortable to pocket carry or use one handed. Screen is sharp and has great colors as well (OLED). I highly recommend this phone for anyone on a budget or that is looking for a simple clean android interface with one of the best cameras on the market.

After reading all the reviews I decided on this phone. It gives you all the bells and whistles of the top tier phones but at a much more friendly prices. I'm getting almost 3 days on a batter charge and have one of the best cameras available. The processes is a little slower but that is what extends the battery life. Its plenty fast enough for me.

So far so good. Seems fast, great battery life and has amazing camera. Good size too if you don’t like gigantic phones. Far exceeded my expectations for the price. Compared to expensive top of the line phones, the only compromise is that it is plastic (but if you put on case on your phones, it’s not an issue really) and it’s not water resistant.

I took notice of the pixel as soon as google released it — I knew that their phones’ cameras were the best on the market, but I couldn’t afford to drop $1000 on a new phone. The pixel 3a may not have a glass back and seven selfie cameras, but unlike the pixel 3 or 4, it saves you a bunch of money in the short- and long-term (newer, ‘nicer’ pixels don’t have a headphone jack, which is supposed to add a sleek and elegant vibe, but in reality just forces you to pay another $200 for bluetooth headphones). 10/10 would recommend this phone to anyone sick of apple products losing functionality whenever a new model appears in stores. Pixel’s operating system is graceful and intuitive, and features like Active Edge and Now Playing (listens to songs around you and tells you what they are! super useful for ever-curious music junkies like me) come in handy constantly. I would absolutely buy it again.
P.S.: one hour on the charger gets you almost 24 hours of use, even on my friend’s year-old pixel 3a.

So this is my first android smartphone ever and wow was I blown away. I've done enough research to know what I was expecting walking into things with this phone and needless to say I was not disappointed.
The price seems like a really good phone. Only negatives, as someone who had an iPhone X prior to this, no wireless charging, no water resistance and no telephoto lens (which isn't a big deal considering you can buy those lenses with cases from moment).
Now grant it, there is only one negative I have found with this phone, you will have a hard time looking at this phone in both direct sunlight and with sunglasses on (Which I do both), the panel is honestly the only complaint with this phone.
Now for the good things: Snappy, hardly any app crashes, no bloatware (At least the useless apps you can disable), consistent updates, the camera is really good, night sight...it's okay, I'm sure with the pixel 4 it'll be better. Easy to use in the hand, I will say that coming from an iPhone, the keyboard is hard to get used to when it comes to typing and not getting spell check. A fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone which is really, really fast and a headphone jack though I don't use it as much as I thought I would.
All in all, I would recommend this phone for someone who wants to use it as a backup phone or an entry-level android phone for beginners.

I've only had this phone for a couple of months and already I love this phone. This is my first phone actually manufactured by Google as opposed to my previous Android's and I love how integrated the Google experience is.
Pros:
-Bright crisp screen. Gets plenty bright enough to be seen in full sunlight. Movies and photos look great.
-Audio on phone calls is super clear and it's really easy to hear the other party.
-I absolutely adore the new phone call screening feature that Google loaded onto this phone. I have used it dozens of times and it has become the bane of telemarketers and robocallers. Even the few humans I have screened have responded accurately to it except for maybe one occasion but I can't confirm that.
-Photos are a huge improvement from my previous phone, the ZTE Axon 7. The software and AI processing that is done on the backend to clean up and enhance the picture definitely shows. However I don't have a whole lot of experience with the big flagship phones from say Apple or Samsung so I can't say it's better than those.
-The charge holds decently well. If I use the phone heavily throughout the day I'll need to charge it at least once during the day. But if I use it lightly I've gone a full 48 hours without needing a charge.
Cons:
-I do miss having the Dolby Digital Surround Sound from my old ZTE but movies and videos do project decently loud.
-On occasion I like to see the notification just to be aware of what's going on in my apps and then I'll clear them. I won't actually tap into the app. After the first couple of times of clearing notifications from any app, the OS will notice you clear these notifications often and ask if you want to see them anymore. I usually get this every few days for several apps like Facebook or the Play Store. Again a slight nuisance.
-The notifications from the top tray can be difficult to get rid of sometimes. I'll get a notification from Facebook that someone posted to their story and if I know I'm not going to check that out, I'll swipe to clear that notification. I'd say about 50% of the time the notification comes right back. Super annoying.
-The 18W charger doesn't charge the phone quite as rapidly as some phones out there with Qualcomm Quick Charge technology but I can usually get a full charge in around an hour.
Obviously the phone is too new to know how long term battery life will hold up or how quickly lag will develop as a consequence of future versions of Android and as apps become more sophisticated. But for now this is a great phone especially for those that want a premium like phone on a budget.

I have been an iPhone user for many years. Just recently purchased the Google Pixel 3a android cell phone. I think this phone has to be the "Best for your Money" currently on the market. Easy to use and understand the operation and has a wonderful camera. The only limitation to the phone is the amount of storage being at 64GB with
