The phone started having issues right away. Definitely choose a different phone. Speakers stop working after a month and I got it fixed and it happened again just a few months later. Google says it's a manufacturer error. Just annoying.

I had very high hopes because I use Google FI which is excellent. However, a number of major issues started popping up after 3-6 months. The touchscreen often gets buggy when the temperature is too cold or hot. I have to constantly restart it to get the touchscreen to work. And the most annoying thing is the GPS. It will incorrectly place my location which makes the map function autocorrect. So you will be driving on the highway and the GPS suddenly starts re-routing you because it thinks you are no longer on the highway. Ive used Samsung and Motorola before and this never happened. I strongly recommend AGAINST buying Pixel.

      Hi KenS,

We really appreciate your feedback, and we are sorry to hear that you are experiencing poor battery performance.

We try to upgrade our battery experiences year-over-year, with software features like Adaptive Battery and Battery Saver to continue extending Pixel’s battery life. The Pixel 4 is intended to have high-performance, all-day battery that charges quickly.

We recommend taking a look at your battery stats and see if any apps are using an unusual amount on power. You can do this by searching 'Battery Usage' in the search bar.

If you continue to have battery issues, we recommend contacting our 1:1 support (From your phone click on Settings > Tips & support > Contact us). googlepixel

This phone was a problem within 6 months. We didn't know we could contact Google for help within the first year. The screen would not activate. And the battery port was weak. We stuck with the phone until end of 2021. Neither Best Buy nor Google would help with repairs unless we agreed to pay ahead of time. We do not plan to purchase a Pixel phone in the near future. The photos were originally good quality but after time the quality went down.

I really wanted to love this phone...I don't...but many issues might be resolved with a firmware update. Pros Fantastic camera with a lot of useful or simply "fun" functions including multi lenses for telephoto/normal shots and night shot/astronomy Face recognition is flawless and works well with apps that previously required a fingerprint such as LastPass The sound is fantastic Text/Speech recognition is the best I've experienced on android or Apple products 90 Hz screen is super responsive with no lag Included 18-watt charger works great Motion Sense functions extremely well including the pre-wake feature that speeds up the facial recognition and the gesture functions Includes a USB-C to USB-C cable with an adapter to transfer apps/settings from your previous android phone! This is a lot faster than the previous NFC setup option Very good screen/case (black in my case) that doesn't attract fingerprints GPS is very responsive and BT Audio doesn't drop or skip like it does on many phones I'm using the unlocked version on Verizon so there's no bloatware I have the 64gb version. System files take up 13 gb leaving 51gb for user-installed apps/data Shortcut features available such as double-pressing the power button to start the camera. Android 10 with a promised 3 years of upgrades Advanced calling features including wifi calling works on Verizon even though this is an unlocked device! Cons Battery life - 2800 mh - for an average user you're going to charge this phone at least once during the day. For a power user, you'll be charging it more often. At 12 Noon at 81% it says my battery should last until 11:45 PM with normal usage. On my old android, it says that my phone should last until 9:45 AM tomorrow with normal usage with a 3200 mh battery. The stated screen size is 5.7" but given the sensor bar at the top and the padding at the bottom the effective size is about 5.3" Even though it's a google phone, stock launcher customization is limited. You can't remove the "Quick View" widget at the top of the home screen or the search bar from the bottom. You can apply a custom theme, but you can't change the icons without installing a 3rd party launcher. No SD card slot No option to show the "back/home" buttons at the bottom of the screen The phone does not ship with earbuds and does not include an adapter for the USB-C port. Cell signal strength on Verizon is less than my other android phones.

A dream for smartphone camera lovers

There is a clear effort in Google to close the gap with some of the functionalities of the other mobile phones in the market, because is hard to satisfy all technological tastes and to compete in all areas, Google Pixel phone goes clearly to the clients more interested by the power and potentialities of the smartphone camera. If this is your case, clearly, I recommend you consider this as one of your priority options. The first impression after having the package between my hands and before opening it, it’s that I Google is following the standard packaging of the products that other brands used in the past as distinctive flag to attract the clients. Inside the box, initially concerned by the switch process between devices, I have my first positive reaction. In addition to the device, in the box you can find the an usb-c to usb-c cable, the charger and a very convenient usb-a to usb-c adapter plus an always useful Sim Card removal tool. It’s obvious that you have all that is needed to change from your previous device (with independence of the model) and transfer all your data and apps to your brand-new device. This process is guided by the device itself and doesn’t require any special technology knowledge by the user. Once your phone is properly connected to your wireless network, you included your carrier SIM card and all your apps and previous info are transferred you are ready to use the new device. As in some of the new phones, the tendency is to force the use of Bluetooth headphones or forcing us to by adapters, because there is not a headphone included in the box nor a headphone jack for the connection to the device. The first impression is its compact design, I am used to bigger models and I am surprised how fast I am used to the size of a phone that allows me again to return to the one hand operation. Of course, mentally my initial reticence or fear was related to the grip of the device, I used a bigger end devices mostly aluminum backs that I should secure with one full hand using the other for operating, in this case I can confirm however, that the rubberish coat frame gives an impressive grip liberating one finger for the functions. The front screen delivers a full HD+ resolution that result in a superclear and bright resolution that is one of my favorite wins of this model. I mentioned that I traded screen size, and this is noticeable at first, but the OLED screen and the 90Hz display, put the screen into a modern TV capability and this helps with delivering videos and moving images. Could be obvious that first, I tried the phone and my first call proves that the sound arrives to me with a great quality probably thanks to the stereo speakers and my interlocutor seems also to listen to me even in noise environments. I know that the processor is one of the big elements mentioned in the specs, but I cannot report or see a noticeable impact in the apps that I carry in my device. The Bluetooth connectivity is also fast and reliable. Mixed feelings about power, the battery life doesn’t seem to be impressive, a full charge (I like the estimated reference provided by the device itself displayed in the corner of the screen) seems to keep for a full day of average-intensive use. I like however the recharging speed by wire or wireless, that seems to be more efficient than the average at least my previous model. Other interesting improvement that I love, is the technology included to activate the device that includes the face recognition and the motion sense. While the motion sense detects when I am near to turn on the device, I am particularly impressed by the face recognition, after a quick setup the phone has been unlocking itself 100% of the cases in several light situations and with different models of glasses. There is less good that no fingerprint scanner is included, and I have the impression that this would limit access to those apps (banking apps) defined under that security protocol. One of the cool features that I’ve saw in the TV add and I was looking to test is the Motion Sense (interacting with the phone with motion of your hands and not direct contact with the screen). I am not super happy, while works nicely for music(change the songs, move to next one..) be aware that is very basic and not functional for all the apps. Final feedback is about the camera, in my opinion the combination of hardware and software included here are the very best in the market and the reason why this is your model. Pixel 4 has two rear cameras including a lens that open zoom options to very high-quality levels and one in the front for selfies and for the face recognition. The tech serves you for always focus portrait pictures, for complete panoramic pictures, slow motion camera or 360 pictures but where I found impressive, is for low light pictures the new Night Sight mode and the astrophotography mode that deliver pictures of the night ambiances including the night stars (lack of movement of the camera is compulsory), that before I was only to obtain with my reflex. I have in front of me a world of pictures in ALL circumstances to test and I am sure that I will not be disappointed. I like this phone, and it’s clearly the option for photography fans.

So I've had the Pixel 4- 64GB for several months now. It's been pretty frustrating to say the least. 64GB is not a lot of space. Before I know it, I'm out of storage. But the MOST frustrating thing about that is the video recording glitch. When you're recording a video on low storage, the recording cuts off at some point and the file is corrupted!! You can't play it back. I don't understand. Why not just save whatever gets recorded with available storage?? That is so dumb!! Also, while video recording with the flash on, the phone "overheats" within minutes and cuts recording. The only things I like about this phone is the overall speed, screen display, google photos app (unlimited storage) and the camera, but what good is the camera if I have so many issues recording videos?? If these glitches weren't present, I think this would be a pretty awesome phone.

Right out of the Box I had a 73% charge which is great for the impatient. Transferring files is a snap via google back up or the built in transfer app. (previous android owners) I attached the Usb C cable to my phones and it copied all of my data (10 gig) and apps. This only took about 7 minute’s total. Updating the apps took longer, when this was finished you just follow the prompts and Install your Sim (for the unlocked versions) and you are off and running. For the best on how to’s, just google the many videos that are out there. On to the device: First off I must say that the sound is very good as is the bass for the phone. I have been accustomed to tinny metallic sounding phones in the past, so this is a nice change. The design is very nice, sturdy, doesn’t have a cheap feel to it. The gorilla glass make me confident against cracking but I’m still going to put a screen and case protector on it. When opening apps or running them. They start and work lightning fast with hardly any delay thanks to the snap dragon 855 processor with 6gb of ram and 64 or 128 gb of storage. The screen resolution is very high on the Full Hd 5.7 inch screen which is great for viewing pictures or video. The refresh rate is 90 Hz which seem to chew battery up. I knocked my refresh rate down to 60 Hz to save battery. Recharging time is quite fast when plugged in to the supplied USB C charger. When using a wireless charge I ran a quick test and got 20 % charge in about 20 minutes, However if you want fast charging you need to find a QI charger that uses EPP (Extended Power Profile) standard. The camera is super impressive, it is a 12mp dual pixel with 16mp telephoto. My old phone pics reminded me of a playschool camera compared to this. No matter the lighting or the condition you can be sure that all your pictures will be great. One of the new feature is call Frequent faces. The camera recognizes frequently photographed faces and stores the info (locally only) so in the future the camera will know who to focus on while in crowds. I tested in low lighting and found that although some lighting conditions add in lots of grain to your pics for the most part just by adjusting the amount of light on your screen, via the slide control, will help take this out. I tried the night sight camera option when I was walking and slowed down and took a pic of the moon to see if it would work. I was impressed. It would have been better had I stopped walking. But impressive none the less with a phone camera. Gestures option is quite handy when listening to music, just a swipe of the hand can load a new song or go back to a previous one among other things. Which is handy while eating lunch and having messy hands, or greasy hands from your niece’s car that she trashed The brakes in and had to work on it all weekend. You can also silence alarms and pass on phone calls you don’t want to answer. I set my phone to turn on when I reach for it. This is a very nice feature so you don’t have to try to find the home button or the power button in the dark. The unit senses when you are reaching for the phone and turns on. I then added Face unlock…Takes about 30 seconds to set up. In the settings just activate it and follow the prompts. This can also set up payments and logins as well if you’d like. For those concerned about privacy, Google has tons of options you can go through and inactivate or activate to your liking so you can feel safer. In my F150, I primarily use android auto. This system works great with my new phone. My other phone was a little buggy as it took 3 or 4 times to issue commands for them to work. Not with this phone though. Live HDR and transcription: I was blown away by the live HDR, The quality is so good it looks like you can film your own full length movie!! The transcription if nice and pretty spot on (this can be toggle on and off) except for a few misinterpreted words I was happy with the results. The Google assistant is indeed better, especially when issuing command in my truck with background noise, much better than in previous versions. Making calls, setting reminders, asking questions, using navigation, setting alarms or sending texts. I even told it to turn on my flash light and it did. Waterproof up to 16 feet (IP 68) for those that forget the phone in their pocket or those who can’t live without their phone long enough to take a shower. I would recommend this to family and friends. This is a very nice phone that goes to bat with competitors in its class.

Having not had the privilege of using a pure Android device since manufacturers of these type of devices tend to stick with the top two Cellular providers it’s a bit hard to compare it to others. I use a Note 10+ as a daily driver because I enjoy the very large screen, but also like the option of the S-Pen. With the pure Android experience, you get a phone that’s free of any bloatware. There’s not Netflix, not Facebook, not a single non-Google based app and that’s fantastic. It’s nice having something completely clean and untouched. Some of those app’s I do use, but having them baked in is plus, but also a negative because you can never remove them. The overall speed of the phone because of this is very smooth. The gestures are easy to use as well. I wish my note had them without needing to use the pen. The phone does seem to be a bit sensitive to gestures though, not enough to make mistakes. I did set mine up for using the Face Unlock and that works great, even in very low light it had no problems identifying me. I did notice that if I was putting the phone away in my pocket or setting it down, the Face Unlock would trigger as though it caught me looking down to unlock it. The Squeeze feature of bringing up the Google Assistant is a neat feature and make’s it easier than having to say, “OK Google” or “Hey Google”. I used it infrequently but when I did it worked perfectly. The display on the phone is nice, it’s not as vibrant as other phone’s I’ve had over the years, though it does get quite bright. Battery life is good, not great, but good. You can get a workday out of it with moderate use. With very light use you could leave it off the charger for quite some time. I charged it recently and it’s been off the charger for a couple days with very light use. The camera, it’s amazing. Not sure how to expound here other than that if you need the best, the Pixel line is second to none. The night sight is very impressive. Being able to take a shot at night and it not being all muddy and dark, it’s nearly as natural as what you’re seeing with your own eye’s. I didn’t get a chance to test out the Astrological feature of the Camera software due to the weather over the last week which has been all over the place. It’s a very nice phone and surely one that will please. It’s easy to use, the UI is straight forward and it’s very welcoming. If you’re in the market for new phone that’s not a specific other kind of phone that will not be named and don’t want something like a Galaxy but still want Android and without all the carrier and manufacturer bloatware.
