Upgraded from my pixel 2xl and I can say with the discounted price of $600, it was pretty worth it. Although the stock Android experience, added ram, and quality camera make the pixel 4xl an all around phone, the only let down was the battery. The pixel does last me all day but not with 1-2 30min charges each day. But I am already use to it

I down graded from a Note 9 to this. This is a down grade in almost every way.
If you use a fingerprint to unlock apps on a current phone you can't do that here. Face unlock doesn't work for pretty much any financial institution. Bank, credit card, coffee purchases or even the Google Store. Have to type in a password or disable authentication as a requirement all together.
Screen noticably smaller, bezel noticably bigger, battery life is poor in comparison. The "upgraded" assistant is actually worse because there are a number of bugs in the new version.
Photos come out great and the newly updated camera app is awesome. Video is average.
If you change the animation time to . 5 on everything in developer options it feels much more like a high end device. Overall this phone is good but not great. I've had a Pixel device since the day they came out and this is such a let down for the phone series. If it was $600 this would be great. For $1k+ with tax it's not near worth it.

The pixel is so underrated. I was debating on going back to apple or getting the pixel because of the camera. Well afte watching 1000 reviews I decided on the pixel and I must say the best choice I made. It is so smooth with touch and the pictures are amazing the bo touch don't change is awesome and the squeeze Google assistant is so helpful. Absolutely love this phone no complaints

I upgraded to this phone from the pixel 3xl. The camera is better, and I like the face unlock but wish it worked with banking apps. Now I have to put in my password instead of just touching the fingerprint sensor. Overall I'd say it's an improvement over the pixel 3xl. I got it on sale for $599. Not sure I'd buy it at 899.

It's pretty solid. I enjoy how the OS is utilized. The voice recorder is great. Especially since it transcribes as well. The Pokemon background is a nice touch. Camera is solid. Haven't tried the astrophotography though. Price is an issue and so is battery life.

I'm switching to the Pixel 4 XL from the Pixel 2 XL. The design of the pixel 4 feels great with the new glass backing and the interface of the Pixel 4 is a lot smoother and more intuitive than the 2 XL. The camera is also fantastic to use even better now in low light. Another major plus is not having any extra "bloatware" in the phone similar to other pixel phones.

I am a long time Android user and I am coming to this phone after using a Pixel 2 XL. I was quite happy with my Pixel 2 but I dropped it one too many times and it died. I bought the Pixel 4 expecting a significantly-upgraded experience but I was left a little "flat". Don't get me wrong... this phone is definitely better. I just don't think it's a big enough improvement to justify spending $900 to upgrade. If you're like me and had a broken phone... give it a try. If I still had my Pixel 2, I'd pass on this one. It's just not that much different.
Since I have no choice other than to upgrade, I am strongly considering checking out an iPhone 11 Pro Max to get that triple camera and wide-angle lens.

I'm very disappointed in the pixel 4. I had high hopes for it. I've been using Google since the pixel 2 and this phone let me down. First off they totally took away the fingerprint scanner and replaced it with the facial recognition. Which I'm not a fan of. You can't use it to log into sites, it works poorly at night and if it's in the car and you look towards the phone it's always turning on. I had to turn off the function to skip songs without touching the screen because it would constantly change song when I didn't want it to. The 90 hz speed they advertised only happens sometimes. Battery isn't great, screen don't get very bright outside. and I hate the gestures for on screen navigation. The pictures and screen are awesome. But they were pretty amazing on the 3 so idk. But I'm sad about not liking this phone and will be returning it to get another pixel 3 xl

In the past I have used another cellphones of Google and the plus of this google brand cellphone is the OS experience (Android 10), in this part the cellphone shines, with the new interface, menus, how you can go back or fordward with a swipe of the hand in some apps (music, receive or hang calls), etc. In hardware area, the screen (90hz) it looks amazing, excellent sound from the speakers (loud, clear, stereo sound) and again the camera is excellent (in the top 5 of the highend phones)
It has some flaws (the most know one) unlock the the cellphone with the eyes closed, but I think this one, like other software issues, will be fixed through patches (another good thing, patches and updates, they will always be the most recent ones).
I recomend this cellphone to persons who wants a better quality software service (pure stock android).

I'm sure we're all aware this is basically Google's flagship phone with the specs to compete with Samsung and Apple's finest and it's a perfectly serviceable phone, so no reason to waste much time there.
As for the new gimmicks, like radar, it's actually kind of nice to have the alarm quite down as you fumble to shut it off in the morning and to have the phone wake up and start looking for your face before you even have the phone in your hand (which makes face unlock nice and quick).
It is a little weird to scan when using Google pay and then stare at your phone for a second, but it's not horribly awkward, and you can avoid entirely if needed.
If you're unused to the new navigation controls in Android (no home button, etc) it can take a second to get used to, and if you can't adjust, you can always turn them back on.
All in all, a great phone for now (and the battery is perfectly serviceable, which may not be the case with the smaller version).

This pixel 4 xl is super fast I mean it is zippy sad to say it moves faster then the note 10 plus. And take amazing or probably the best pictures you could ever imagine. The stereo speakers are amazing. If you want a really awesome easy to use customizable interface go get this. It works amazing so far my all time favorite phone.

A huge upgrade to the Galaxy S7 I have been using for the last few years . This phone is great and the camera as most people already know is the best. My only con for the device is the price. It should be 1 to 2 hundred dollars cheaper. But even so, I would still recommend this device to anyone in the market for a new one.

The Pixel 4 XL won't win any competitions based on specs sheets. It doesn't have a wide-angle camera or 2 day battery life, or a fancy bexel-less design, and the storage options are stingy. But it does have a phenomenal 2x optical zoom that still looks amazing at 8x zoom (great for Kindergarten plays), and the camera is simply jaw-dropping to people when I show them photos taken in daylight and low-light. It has all-day battery life, and a beautiful 90hz display which is rare on smartphones. I enabled Smart Storage in settings and haven't had an issue with running out of space. In fact, Google has infused this phone with machine-learning and features that make it a joy to use everyday (check YouTube for tips and tricks!). The Face Unlock works effortlessly with the radar, and the Motion Sense features are just extras. The entire experience just feels much more cohesive than Samsung phones and other vendors, and even feels to the level of i-Phone cohesiveness. Get this phone if you want direct-from-Google quick updates for at least 3 years and the best Android experience you can get.

The phone is definitely one of a kind, the screen quality is amazing, and the camera quality is of the line. There battery is sufficient for most people but the new iPhones and Samsung battery are better. Overall you have to be looking for certain qualities to buy this phone.

Certainly those who are avid fans of using pure Android OS will definitely appreciate this phone to it's entirety. I carry both iPhone and pixel devices and the only thing that I had concerns with pixel devices were the haptic engine. I haven't read much of anyone even professional tech sites mention this, but the haptic engine used on the pixel 4 is GREAT. It's pretty much on par with the iPhone on feel and satisfaction. This alone makes the entire experience that much more enjoyable.
The design is superb where many agree is the best designed pixel yet!
Battery life I would say take with a grain of salt from those who gripe about it after only a couple days of usage. Adaptive battery does wonders as you use your phone.
Whether you get the phone now or wait till Black Friday, cost will not come to your mind when using the phone!

This phone has a beautiful design. Since it is Google you are the first to receive Android updates. the camera is awesome, especially using night sight. The night pictures are absolutely fantastic. It has good speed and display. The only drawback is I would prefer it to be a little larger display.

I like Google products, I owned several (Nexus 5, Nexus 6P my favorite, Pixel 2XL, Pixel 3XL ugliest notch ever, and Pixel 4XL).
I think this year I will switch to Samsung even thought I hate the luck of updates and the Bixby button. I stopped using Samsung product for this reason (Android versions).
But Pixel 4XL isn't that good. Battery life ok, pictures..uhm, maybe pixel 3XL was taking better pics. I really could care less about gesture. No wide angle camera, no fingerprint sensor on screen or the best ever (on the back). You got only 15 apps currently working with Android Face ID and none of the banks I have supports it.
I gave it a try and for me it isn't a phone that is worth over 500 dollars for the 128GB.

I've had a Galaxy S8+ for a few years and haven't been tempted to upgrade until I saw the features the Google Pixel 4XL had to offer. I'm blown away by the camera, speed of the phone and fun new features that weren't on my S8+. For Android lovers I feel like this is a must have!!! You won't regret it.

Not a suprise, for a Pixel Device. The Hardware is meh, but the camera is so good. I hear battery is terrible, but I drive a lot and it's always docked so that I can use Android Auto, so I wouldn't know. Much snappier and responsive compared to earlier Pixels.

I bought this phone as a replacement for my OG Pixel XL and it's a pretty phenomenal improvement. It's super smooth and has a pretty stunning battery life when paired with the adaptive battery feature. Of course, the camera is also fantastic. The color and detail of the pictures honestly surprises me at times with how good it is. I haven't run into any issues with its functionality at all. I've seen a lot of other reviews saying it's not that great since it doesn't have every possible bleeding edge feature, but for me, it's just about perfect. I do wish I could do more with the new motion sense feature, but it's a pretty cool additional bit of new tech that was thrown in. I actually use it every day to snooze my alarms and change music tracks. I really hope it gets better. If you are interested in this phone, I highly recommend it, it'll totally be worth it.
