    Cleaner interface than most Androids

    Posted .

This is latest in the line of Google Pixel phones. Pixel line gets the latest version of Android before most other Android models. Not unusual to get latest in August. I like enrolling in Android Beta program every year as I get to see that latest and greatest early. This year Android 10 features Facial Recognition and Soli, a form of gesture control that doesn't require actually touching the phone. Pixels are known for great cameras. Recent years low night capableness were introduced. Much as been blogged about the Pixel 4. I like the standard sized 5.7” model as it’s lighter and more compact making it easier to carry.

Been a Google Pixel fan since the beginning and this phone is just a continuation of that. Compared to the Pixel 3, there's not a lot of new features. Instead, this feels just like a really polished, good phone.

6 months and camera doesn't work

I've kept this thing relatively well protected. It's slid of the couch and fallen in the car. Typical non-negligent abuse a phone should hold up to. Not a scratch or dent exist on it and after 6 months the camera and flash has stopped working (crashes). Going through to possibly factory reset the phone is a nightmare. From most others it seems this won't fix it and requires the phone to be repaired. Back camera works but is useless in most places. My pixel 2 held up much better. Losing the finger print scanner in these times is a real pain. Have to pull down face coverings in order to login to my phone or type the code. I'm disappointed for a $1k phone.

    Terrible phone.

The worst Google phone I ever bought in my life. As an avid Google phone lover, the phone has an amazing performance, display quality and great cameras but its unreliable. Three months after the purchase, I experienced the black screen of death were the phone's display would go black for no reason, took it four times to an authorized Google service center (UbreakIFixIt) and still having that issue, along with the battery connector issue that is a major design flaw. End up throwing this failure of a phone in the trash bin. Battery life is mediocre, got improved with later OS updates but barely reached the 4-5 hours of Screen On Time.

    Awesome Phone, Pure Google Android

I've been a Google Nexus/Pixel fan for a long time, and was wary about the Pixel 4 due to mediocre reviews, especially at the price. On sale for $599 and having seen the specs and reviews of the Galaxy S20 and OnePlus 8, I decided to upgrade from my Pixel 2 XL and incredibly pleased. The camera continues to be top notch, the 90 hz screen and extra RAM makes the OS fast and fluid, and face unlock has worked really well. Highly recommended for those that want a smooth Android experience.

I used to have three original Pixel XL and upgraded to the Pixel 4 XL. T his is a great phone. The reason for the four stars instead of five, is the battery. The battery if good, but not great. It lasts a whole day, unless you are using it constantly. The phone has a very nice screen and is really fast. It also has a great camera as well. Well worth the $650, I won't pay $1000 for a phone for myself. That's just me.

    Nice Device

Overall I like the device. The camera is pretty great (my friends are more impressed with it than I am) but is very clear and vibrant. The processor is still a bit slow to me (upgrade from 3XL); mine lags when using the app switcher or moving from one screen to the next. It feels nice to hold. The edging is matte-like so the grip feels nice without feeling like it will slip out of your hand. Still recommend a case. The gesturing is something to get used to as the active edge is very responsive but susceptible to unintended input. The face recognition works great but could use improvement on the accuracy/speed as it tends to lag if the unlock sequence is done to many times in a row (example: you look away then go back just after the device locks.

    Excellent Buy from Best Buy!

I was contemplating if I should get the smaller Pixel 4 or 4 XL. I went ahead with the 4 XL mostly because of the battery life on the smaller one. I read a lot of reviews where the only major complaint was the battery life. 4 XL is extremely nice and the experience is very smooth on the UX side. I am loving this phone. I am glad I waited until after black friday because I had just enough points from Best Buy plus there was a holiday deal going on as well. The price was too good to refuse. Great product and great overall experience at Best Buy

I loved this phone - wanted to switch from a iPhone and loved it. Feature packed ran smoothly with the latest version of Android. Sadly had to return it as I have a Diabetic Sensor that the app is not supported by the manufacturer on this phone. Was very disappointed but my health comes first - so with that I would still recommend this phone.

I just bought this Google pixel 4 XL yesterday in white and I honestly gotta say this phone is so smooth the battery life to me is amazing all the features are and most importantly I really love the camera and what helped with the battery improvement was the Android 10 update. Overall this phone is a definite yes if your looking for a new cell phone.

I bought the Clearly White Pixel 4 XL 128GB on launch day. I'm happy to report that the Pixel 4 XL experience is good, despite what you may have read (note: ignore the tech journalists and their obsession with specs). I'm getting great battery life, find motion sense useful, and love the hardware design. I've owned the 2 XL and 3 XL, and the 4 XL is my favorite to date.

Super Phone Great Upgrade over the Pixel 3

This is a great phone love the face unlock, superb speed, fantastic and fast 90hz screen, and more. Probably could have had 8gb RAM like most flagship phones have had recently but 6 is better than 4 the Pixel 3 had. Other improvements over the Pixel 3 - the new Google helper is much better and faster. Also it seems like the what's playing now works better as well. Of course it wouldn't be a Pixel without an industry leading camera and this one doesn't fail. Some may say it's pricey but it is worth it. The Oh So Orange color is a bonus wish they offered more colors.

Leery at first, But worth it

    Posted .

So I'll pretense this with the fact that I probably would have given this phone a solid 3.5-4 star rating out of the gate, but I toughed it out and I'm glad I did. The battery was draining pretty quickly for the cost that that was really doing it in for me; no other features mattered if I couldn't get through the day to use them. But I gave the phone a chance and I'm really glad that I did. This is the best android phone I've had. Prior to this phone I was bouncing back and forth between the Samsung Galaxy S8+ and the iPhone X because I loved the iPhone's size camera but I so longed for android's OS which took heavy launcher modification on the Galaxy S8+. In comes the Pixel 4XL, which gave me the stock android I'd missed so dearly since my old Nexus 6. After charging through a couple of battery cycles, the battery is usually sitting at 50% at the end of the day, so for me, the phone usually lasts about 1.5 days solid, no questions. Battery is never a problem. Its unfortunate that this phone caught so much flack for battery drain because in my own tests, idk if they did tweaks with updates or if the battery needed to be exercised, but I never have ANY issues anymore with it after charging it up and draining it the first couple of times. Now it lasts all day. The camera is unreal. Although people will be frustrated that it doesn't have two cameras on front and 3 cameras on back (the wide angle cameras), the front camera is already has a very wide FOV, much wider than the iPhone X, which made it an instant upgrade for me, not to mention the quality was much better. The rear cameras are incredibly crisp, and exactly what I enjoy, which is true color. I'm not a fan of Samsung's camera software which tends to over saturate photos natively, so the Pixels camera is provides photos that are just how you see them which is how I like them. The night site works incredibly well which I've tested extensively inside, outside, on the move, and stationary. The video I can't speak to because I haven't tested. The face unlock is absurdly fast almost to a fault, and it does work at angles which the iPhone does not. It is, although, quite annoying that other apps don't work with it yet. I'm hoping that changes soon. I've tried my hand at a lot of different manufacturers over the years in HTC, Samsung, Google, Apple, Motorola, and LG, and so far the Pixel 4 XL has won me over as my favorite to date.

Generally pleased. I wish the touch in screen functionality was more consistent. In some apps it's highly sensitive and responsive. While in others or with different actions is poor in response. This may be app related, but I'm comparing the difference in noted operation with the same apps and Pixel 2 vs Pixel 4. This may be a software detail to be improved with updates. In many instances Google makes very good improvements with software updates.

I bought this for my son to replace his old Motorola. He loves it. I was concerned about the battery life, because it does go down pretty quick. He says it's because he can play Fortnite on his phone now and he wasn't able to do that before on his old Motorola, and the game is power hungry, so the battery drops quicker. He doesn't mind and says it awesome, so I guess it's good to go!

    Pixel phones the best

Pros: The phone is great and if you're an Android fan this is the best way to go. Camera is amazing and the phone runs very smoothly. Cons: It's overpriced at regular MSRP ($900) but I purchased when it was discounted by $200, which made the cost more reasonable. I would have preferred if they kept the fingerprint reader but the face unlock is a cool feature and works extremely well. Overall: If you have a Pixel 3XL I would recommend holding off on upgrading, but if you're due for a new phone this is a great option.

I had a Pixel 4XL before but lost it on a fishing trip. Best Buy had a great price on a replacement phone and the loading of my data from the cloud was quick and seamless. I was very happy with this purchase and getting my connection to the rest of the world back
