Long-Term Pixel User - Best Pixel Phone Yet

I'm a long-term Pixel user, having previously owned Pixel 1 and 3. The Pixel 5 is easily the best Pixel phone to date as it finds the right balance between hardware and price. Fantastic screen (90hz refresh rate and bezel-less screen is a game-changer), bioresin/metal construction makes it feel durable, and the battery life is nothing short of amazing (truly all-day batter). And while I had some initial concerns about the mid-range Snapdragon 765G processor, trust me, it's just as zippy as phones twice the price. Pixel phones have always had the best software experience for Android, and this phone is no different. Also, the camera remains best-in-class. Can't recommend this phone enough.

Have been using for a year now. Battery life is really good. Pictures are true to colour and camera comes with wide angle as well. Size is perfect for small pockets.

Great little phone. But a different one than your used to. I like this little phone but Google took away too many features for its price. The battery will last you all day. Speakers are ok but a step down from what we are used to. The plastic over the metal body feels nice but lacks that cool to touch feeling. I feel google made the right call in making it cheaper because its 2020 but I think everyone should wait until the next one or the rumored Pixel 5 pro

The pixel 5 is a good solid phone. I know many people point out at that this phone doesn't have the newest chipset but I notice no lag at all. It's fast and quick. The cameras are nice as advertised but as many other people have pointed out the volume is a issue. I think it's loud enough when watching YouTube and other apps but is fairly quiet for making calls even with the volume all the way up. The only other knock I have on the phone is that I can't screen mirror to my TV without WiFi. That's a pretty common feature on almost all phones nowadays and for $700 I think that's something that should be included. Other than that it is a very nice phone.

I have been a user of Samsung phones since the first galaxy S. When it came time to upgrade my Galaxy S8, I looked at the S21 and it seems like it has issues so i went with the Pixel 5. Clean android is a refreshing change compared to all the bloatware and ads you get with Samsung devices. Fastest device to get security updates from google. Even though on paper it is a bit underpowered compared to other flagship devices, i found it to be a big upgrade over the Galaxy S8. It's a perfect size if you don't like huge phones, it takes great pictures. I would definitely recommend this device.

This phone is perfect for the everyday user. It has enough memory because your photos will be stored in the Google photo storage area. So it doesn't take up room in the phone, that leaves room for apps and other things. Cameras graat can't complain, I like that it has a wide angled camera, and it's Google see you it's only going to get better. It's a really nice size if you don't like really tall phones this is a great phone. Only thing I would complain about is the color choices.

The Pixel 5 is not as powerful as the Pixel 4. I handed my Pixel 4 down to my parents and bought the Pixel 5. The 5 loses the earpiece speaker the 4 had. The 5 is not as good at playing audio directly from the phone as the 4. Sound is still good. I do like the fingerprint unlock on the 5 instead of the facial unlock of the 4. It's way handier than a face unlock in the pandemic wearing a mask. The camera is good, but not my Nikon D750. The battery life is fantastic. I use Google Fi for service and that's as good as ever. I don't find many 5G signals where I live.

Had to buy a new phone because my pixel 4 decided to stop working. So far the Pixel 5 is much better than the 4 especially when it comes to battery life. I like having the finger print to login instead of facial recognition. The speaker isn't terrible like others have said. Maybe it's not the best to listen to music from, but I can hear other people over the phone just fine. The camera is real nice, haven't messed with it too much yet but it seems great. Only giving it 4 stars for now mainly because I haven't had the best of luck with Pixels. If this phone lasts me up to 3 years, then it'll get five stars.

I upgraded from a Pixel 3, so I am thrilled that the 5 is very close to the same size but has a screen that is .5" larger (due to reduced bezels). Great screen, terrific cameras and camera software... love the "Night Sight" low light camera performance. Fast performance, great display... I love the "pure Google" approach with monthly security updates and quick updates to subsequent Android versions. I was happy with my Pixel 3 and, strictly speaking, did not need to upgrade to the 5... but I'm glad I did for the sake of the larger screen and speedier processor in the same form factor.

Great Phone, good battery, bad speaker

Overall, this is a great phone in terms of the camera, screen resolution, responsiveness, and the UI. The battery life lasts a solid day with realistic usage, like texts, emails, Reddit, some youtube, and other assorted apps. The major downside is making calls on it. They put the main speaker behind the screen on the top, so it sounds extremely hollow and downright awful. I think this phone is better than most, and its built pretty well, so I think it'll survive a couple of years of realistic use and abuse before it starts to break apart. I can recommend this phone

I love the battery life on this phone, especially compared to its previous generations. Takes great pictures as you would expect from the Pixel line of google phones. The chipset handles everything that I need it to handle well and I don't really notice that its not running on the best snapdragon chip for this generation. That and the fact that it is software and support directly from Google is why I keep coming back to these phones. I just wish there were actual good compact phones with Android that exist. This is about as close as it comes for me.

I was skeptical before getting this phone due to the smaller size and the last generation internals (chip etc). However a couple months in, I have been impressed with the performance. The phone is super responsive and very fast. The size has grown on me as well as there is still plenty of screen real estate for watching videos and browsing the web. All in all, the phone does not boast the most impressive spec sheet but it performs spectacularly under everyday use. The only downside is the fingerprint scanner sometimes is not as responsive as I'm used to.

I previously owned a Pixel 3 XL the Pixel 5 is a great upgrade from that device, especially for the price. Price seems a little high for what you get spec wise but the performance and software in my opinion are worth it! Love the 90 Hertz display and new wide angle lense! I also didn't realize how much I would enjoy having a smaller phone again! I love the material they used, it may be plastic but it feels great and is easy to hold on to. I would definitely recommend getting this phone if you want something that preforms well won't cost you over $1000!

Lots of great features like 1) Google Lens, which is connected to Google translate, earth etc, 2) a background music app that tells you what song is playing, basically no matter the sound level and your atmosphere, 3) adaptive sound, brightness and refresh rates which adjust everything accordingly, 4) it's waterproof, 5) it's nice and small, so it fits great in your pocket. My only complaints is the processor, it's runs most games badly, the speakers which are underwhelming, and the price (imo it's just like a hundred bucks too much). Overall a great phone though.

Fast and responsive, even without the "best chip" the loads of RAM probably help. Camera is great as always. Wireless charging works very well.

I've had some previous Pixel phone versions and my last one started having battery issues so I upgraded to the Pixel 5. This phone has some nice new features as expected from Google and also a Terrific Battery Life that can sometimes last me 3 days. The camera has been great as expected and still have unlimited photo storage. The phone however is not without minor bugs that need to be worked out, not a big issue since I know from past my Google phones these issues will be fixed with one of the many Android updates that Google releases to keep he Pixels running smoothly.

Absolutely blown away with the performance and battery life on this phone!I didn't think I would care about the 90 hz refresh rate but after just a few minutes of it I can't go back. Although the cpu is smaller than the other phones of this year, that's how it keeps a great battery life and I think it will probably last longer because of the downsizing as well. I never reach below 40% battery life in a day.
