Used many phones, prefer pixel
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a single mom of two, should be needless to say that I've gone through a few phones. I've gone through three cheaper phones and two flagship phones in the past few years. Obviously I break phones, but what I'm ultimately saying is this one is superb. You just cannot beat the features for the price, and it doesn't come with annoying apps you cannot uninstall. That being said, I use Google apps more than anything else You can type a whole paragraph using Talk to text, Punctuations included. In my opinion Google assistant , it is better than Bixby and Siri. The Google Assistant can at least open new memos without having issues that they don't already exist. The camera is equivalent to, if not surpassing, the Galaxy S10. The screen is so much better! It might be a plastic back but you can't tell. The level of Gorilla Glass on the screen sets it apart from so many other phones. I have cracked so many galaxies in my life. All within a single drop. The speed and ease of use is fantastic. Keep in mind that just because the refresh rate is lower, that doesn't mean you'll have a lesser experience. Experience. The refresh rate on my Galaxy S10 was better, but this phone surpasses it. So now we will get to the complaints, the phone overheats when I video chat. It will also overheat if I am downloading multiple things at once. I'm not surprised, pixel has always had this issue. Issue. But it's not dangerously hot. I am an extremely heavy phone user, video chatting keeps me and my kids connected to family. But it's not a deal breaker. The overheating is honestly the only complaint I have but not hot enough to make me regret my purchase

Price aside, this is a premium phone.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After getting a bogus foreign model from Amazon, i purchased from Best Buy online and received my package the next day. Great shopping and shipping experience. Great price made even more affordable by using the Capital One installment payments. I had the original pixel back in 2016, but switched to LG after some issues. I loved my LG phones but sadly they're no longer being manufactured. So back to Pixel it was. And WOW. I love using this phone. After the complaints about the finger print reader and the battery life i was hesitant, but i haven't had any of those issues. I think getting the most out of the finger print reader is a matter of carefully inputting your print at the angles you'll actually be using when you're rushing to open your phone (for me i use the tip of my thumb, coming from the side). Battery life has been a non issue and i didn't have to adjust the refresh rate-- maybe it's a problem for someone watching videos all day but that's not me. The screen & graphics are lovely, i now prefer to browse on my phone. As for Android 12 in Google native phone, it's unique. Coming from older android, it was strange at first to use only gestures to navigate (a setting which you can change btw). But after a few days i adjusted. I most appreciate the overview feature on the home screen and all the options i have with incoming calls. I'm excited about the translate but haven't had an opportunity to use yet. They also have a LOT of accessibility features that are awesome if you need them. Everything feels integrated and thoughtful out the box, but as always with android you unleash the power of personalizing to your taste when you explore the settings. It is a big and heavy phone especially if you're coming from an older phone. I have small hands so even with smaller screens i relied on pop sockets for one handed operation and will be doing the same here. It's great to type on two handed, however. Camera is great, both selfie and front. Dark skin looks RICH and doesn't have the overly red tone of typical cell phone cameras. Camera app also really shines in the editing capabilities. The price is amazing, and it's not too good to be true. This feels, looks, and behaves like a premium phone because it IS a premium phone. We're just so used to sticker shock in this industry that we have trust issues. My family (mostly Apple heads) couldn't believe it.

Get the 6 not the Pro!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.So....you are reading Pixel 6 reviews and wondering if you should buy one. Or maybe the question is if you should buy the Pixel 6 or the Pixel 6 Pro. Well let me tell you I went with the 6 and I'm glad I did. I have a friend who purchased the Pixel Pro and is very happy with it. It takes great pictures has the zoom lens and the screen is a little bit bigger and a little bit better. But it also cost $300 more. Now let me let me tell you a big difference that I've noticed between the two that is not talked about in any reviews nor would it be expected. In fact, I was quite honestly shocked at how big of a difference there was and why it's never mentioned in any reviews. The thing that blew me away is that the Pixel 6 Pro felt rough ang jerky when scrolling through web content. It was as not smooth like the Pixel 6. In fact, it felt very jerky in comparison which was a huge turn off. When operating the 6 everything is fluid. Everything feels smooth. Everything feels good. It just flows. The Pixel 6 Pro. Feels clunky....felt like I was using a much slower 60 Hz screen. Feels like the technology of the 10-120 Hz is not ready. I am not sure why this has not been mentioned by any other reviewer online or on YouTube. One of the reasons most people don't see it in the store is because Best buy usually does not have these phone connected to the internet so you do not get a chance to scroll through real web pages, but when you do, that's where you'll notice it. Mostly scrolling through Facebook or scrolling on Chrome anywhere there's writing and you don't necessarily have to scroll very fast to notice the difference, but I have to say to me that is a deal breaker for the pro. It was unexpected and I'm very happy that I have the six. The six is a great phone, connects to Wi-Fi very well. A lot better than the Pixel 5. It also gets very good cell reception. Overall, it's a great phone and in certain ways it's better than the pro. So if you're on the fence between the pixel 6 and the Pixel 6 Pro, save your money if the zoom lens is not that important to you.

Amazing Value!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pre-ordered my Pixel 6 128GB in Stormy Black and got the pre-order Pixel Buds bonus. Phone and buds were receiving on release day in perfect condition. This phone is amazing quality for the price. Feels much more premium than you would expect for a $600 phone. Screen looks great and is responsive. Camera is top notch, as you would expect on a Pixel phone. Battery life is also fantastic. The finger print reader actually works surprisingly well once you register you prints a few times. My only real gripe is that you cannot use a glass screen protector on this phone or the finger print reader will not work.

Save your money and get the Pixel 5A
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, this is a very nice device. The new OS has some nice features and the size isnt too large to make it unwieldly with one hand. In fact, the camera bar really helps when it comes to one handed navigation by serving as a finger rest point. The pictures I've taken with the camera come out nice as well. My main issue is with the fingerprint reader. To say it sucks is an understatement. I tend to use biometric unlocks for a lot of apps and other things and this simply does not work. To the point where I've just disabled it and gone back to typing in passwords. Knowing what I know now, I would have saved some money and just picked up a Pixel 5A, it's just as good, it's lighter and it works better.

Great Phone
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.By far the best phone out right now. The phone itself is sturdy and a pretty good size for it's prize. Has all the features of their pro except the 3rd camera. It works for me since I don't need the third camera, but specs underneath the hood make this phone smooth and fast. I've had it for a day and I am very impressed. I am a heavy user of the phone with multiple apps open. Battery life starting at 100% and 16hrs later is now at 35%. Pretty decent for me.

Great Pixel experience!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an excellent device in an obvious upgrade over previous Pixel phones. The battery lasts all day. The screen is great in the AI features are very helpful. I would highly recommend this phone I want and only gripe is that it's very heavy and slippery because of the all glass design. I know I'm not the only one who would actually prefer a plastic backing for the durability, grip, and lower weight class. Otherwise I love this phone

Pixel 6 upgrade from Pixel 4a 5G
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice quality feel, crisp clear display with fast 90Hz refresh rate. I have a screen protector on and it works every time I use my thumbs or index finger I have set to unlock it although it’s not as fast to unlock as some other devices that I’ve had. The battery life is good for my use and I get through the day without any problems. I compared the 6 and the 6 Pro prior to purchase and the 6 fit my needs more so over the Pro. This is a lot of phone for the money and the best bang for the buck IMO comparing the two.

Very excellent Google Pixel 6
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My rating of Google Pixel 6 is 4.5 out of 5. It's excellent. Half a point is deducted because the reply area on text messages is a fixed size. This means while I'm texting a reply that's several lines long the reply is not all visible at once without scrolling up/down. Under screen fingerprint reader is good, lift to wake or touch to view lock screen status is great, audio is good, display very clear, and battery life is over 2 days for non-heavy users. Initial setup took a fairly long time with updates but transfer from my previous phone went without issues. One last negative feature is the lock screen of Android 12 shows the clock with two rows of giant digits, no colon included. I'm pretty sure this is not Google Pixel's fault but it is definitely not an intuitive way to display time. I was going to get off Android again and go back to Apple but the Pixel 6 has all the features needed plus the fingerprint reader. That helped win it over.

Best Smartphone 2021 !!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the best Pixel device up to date, the reviews speak for themselves. I've had this device for two months now, and it does not disappoint at all. The camera is the best I've seen in a smartphone, Google's next-gen computational photography just adds to the charm. The refresh rate (adaptive 90 Hz) on the device screen is much better than in previous versions. The Tensor chip performs really well when it comes to multitasking.

Great Phone Overall
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This phone is very nice. It's a little big in the hand (but I like that) and takes great pictures. The screen is big and bright and very smooth. The performance is excellent. I have really been loving this phone. It was a HUGE upgrade from my previous Pixel and is just much better than any of the previous generations of Pixel phones. Honestly, I don't see any reason to get a Samsung phone unless you're really a die hard Samsung person.

Best phone I have owned
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My late mom helped me get this phone as a gift since I had gotten clean and went to college to follow my dream. It's been the best phone I have owned. It takes the most beautiful pics, especially in portrait mode. It's very durable, I've dropped it countless times, no cracks or scratches. Needless to say, I have been pleased with this phone

Best pixel so far
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great overall performance. Yet to use full features but camera is great. Video should be better. My blank/grey pixel 6 heats/warms up if charging and also shooting videos for few minutes. Normal use no noticeable heat.

Find a case with good grip and a slim fit
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The pixel 6 is a really good phone. It's super fast and does a bunch of useful stuff that is more than just gimmicky. However there are three things that annoy me. The first thing is the well documented on screen fingerprint reader. It is slow and in the cold occasionally won't read my thumb at all. The second is the ambient light sensor acts a bit wonky and won't even turn the phone on in really low light sometimes. I didn have these problems on my pixel 2. Both will probably be fixed with future updates. The last problem and almost a deal breaker for me is it's so big and heavy and clunky compared to the pix2. I found a couple of different cases that somewhat negate this feeling. I wish the phone was a bit shorter with the camera being towards the top it wouldn't feel so top heavy or heavy in general. I am getting used to it so I guess I won't be returning it. Plus the camera is awesome and the phone does some slick stuff at a decent price.

Good looking phone but there's a couple of caveats
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've used this for a couple of months now and I have to say: it's a great phone if you can deal with the quirky bugs now and again. Pros: + camera is quick and easy to access with shortcut buttons + processor is quick and speedy + stock android is clean and without much bloatware aside from Google apps + Google assistant literally knows what I'm going to say before I say it Cons: - bugs are aplenty and the screen flickers all the time and apps do freeze up - I don't like how they made the power button function as the Google Assistant first and then makes you do other steps to power it down - camera takes very processed images and the macro shots are not as good as the iPhone 13 - in screen fingerprint scanner kind of sucks and is inaccurate

A step backwards, my 4 year old phone was more adv
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this in August 2022, and now having the phone for just about 7 months I can say overall this was a disappointing purchase, even at the sale price of $499 at the time. The features on this phone are a step backwards from my previous phone, the OnePlus 6, which I had for 4 years and bought in 2018 (also for $500 back then)! I can't believe this phone's features can't keep up with the technology in my old phone. Out of the box the Pixel 6 experienced multiple service issues and dropped calls. I couldn't believe I would literally drop a call every day when 5G service was supposedly perfect, and I've never had any issues on my previous phone. In fact, it became so bad, I turned 5G off, which seemed to improve the call quality and service issues. But this is a new premium feature that I paid for and can't even use? The fingerprint scanner is atrocious. It works maybe a quarter of the time, always when you need the most in a hurry. Why is there no face-id on this phone? My old Oneplus 6 was a breeze to use; it had face-id and the ergonomically perfect fingerprint scanner in the back of the phone, a placement most phones overlook and I'm not sure why because placement is perfect and so easy to use. Also, don't buy the commercials that make editing out the people in background of the photos. It merely smudges over the adjacent colors where the object or person used to be. You can maybe get this to work for you in a few situations but otherwise makes photos look horrible. Another feature I lost after giving my Oneplus up was fast charging, this Pixel phone does not charge even as remotely as fast. And these require USB-C end to end. If this phone was max $300 I wouldn't be so upset, but this is an absolute technological failure on Google. I don't think I'd ever buy a Pixel again.

Awesome Pixel phone and vanill Android experience!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My daily driver is an iPhone but for years I have always kept an Android phone as a backup that I actually use fairly often. I have had a pixel phone for the last 5-6 years and actually probably even the Nexus devices before that! With the pixels though, I have typically rolled with the cheaper "a" options. This time, however, I decided to kick it up a notch though and get the pixel 6 since the pixel 6a hasn't been released yet--I lost patience! I don't regret my choice though. This is a solid phone! Very sturdy feeling and the screen seems gigantic, comparatively speaking, to my iphone 13 pro. As always, the stock Android experience is always a plus. Apps are snappy in their response times and you don't have to worry about all the bogging down that occurs from all the modifications and skins that manufacturers always slap on to the UI, not to mention all of their bloatware applications on top of all of that! Just the plain, vanilla Android experience (how the software's MEANT to run) and all of the quickest and most up-to-date OS updates as soon as Google releases them! It doesn't get much better!
